I saw this video on NBC and it lays out some interesting theories and explanations of string theory, multiple dimensions and why the new movie seems to have got it right.

I loved this story when I read it many, many years ago. I wonder how close the film is to the novel?

From the previews and reviews I think it is a completely re-imagined version.
