  1. I started writing my reply before Mike posted . Well, people have had bad experiences with religion. This is a thread about gay friendly churches, really, and some are skeptical. Skepticism is human nature and cannot be eliminated from any discussion like this which touches on a 'controversial' subject. Perhaps threads dont need to be turned into a grab ass game, but how seriously do we need to take a thread in the lounge? Mike's original post looks like a 'Hey everyone! Heads up! If you desire religion to be part of your life, I found something which could help' which is a nice post about a subject people are interested in, thats all. It doesnt even look like an invitation to comment on religion, although of course people will. And yes, we are off topic.. but some things just have to be responded to.. on topic or nay. I'd imagine thats where all the rest of the off-topic stuff came from, too.
  2. Hmm. So what is this thread actually for? I think the OP covered everything needed. Self-censorship and rigid topic sticking arent really needed - this isnt a forum where constructive debate happens, it is the chat forum. While some of the posts havent stuck 'religiously' to the 'spirit' of the thread, this is no cause for alarm. We should all be happy and nice and hug each other lots while encouraging freedom of expression. And grab Tiger's ass.
  3. A baby guppy in my fish tank has just started to display it's adult colours.. Crimson tail, red top fin and 2 orange stripes on each side, all painted onto a blue-silvery surface. Really pretty. I'd take a photo, but it moves too fast. For those that dont know.. juvenile guppies are varying shades of brown and black for several months after theyre born. This is especially nice because I think this fish's father died last week.
  4. I love smirking .
  5. I think the creator of the graph just really didnt like speedos. Im not a big fan either, really.. I prefer this sort of swimming gear... http://www.tjbd.co.uk/images/casino-royale/grigioperla-swimming-trunks.jpg (again safe for all environments), even though functionally there isnt much difference and they show about the same.
  6. I found this graph today and it made me laugh.. a lot... http://graphjam.com/2009/08/18/attractiveness-of-speedo-vs-age/ Its totally safe for work/school/home/prying eyes or whatever, its just text and a graph . Do you agree with this graph? Or not.
  7. And I .
  8. Oh I bet you could
  9. If I could +4 this I would, but I'll settle with +1 .
  10. I can definitely appreciate 'pretty' .
  11. Whats happening is that for some reason, and the reason is irrelevant, word has opened the file as a read-only copy. The reason it is irrelevant is because if you want to be able to edit it.. all you have to do is go File.. Save As, and save it somewhere else. That copy you CAN edit.
  12. The stuff I ordered yesterday arrived TODAY! Standard delivery is supposed to take 3-5 days . Will leave glowing feedback on this transaction when I can.
  13. Bought some blonding stuff in town to dye my roots! Bought some semi-permanent red and blue dyes on Amazon, they were shipped 2hrs and 38 minutes after I placed my order... way earlier than I expected. Im feeling better having got out of the house today too! Hair stuff all round!
  14. I have only driven a manual gearbox car.
  15. Sortof came out to my parents. Thats the last 'big' secret Ive been keeping from them. Woo! Now I dont have to think about how I say something before I say it.. so much..
  16. Yeah I do that with my orange juice. Pour it out to find mould floating on the top. . I drink soft drinks as mixers, but thats the only time. I dont think sweetners are necessarily any worse for you than sugar. They are both 'sweet' tasting chemicals, sweetners just had the misfortune to be discovered last and so are demonised for being 'unnatural' or 'artificial'. It really bugs me when ignorant people slam something for having chemicals in it. I am drinking coffee with 1 spoon of sugar in it at the moment!
  17. - received a really pithy anecdote from our very own Drewbie... something to live by .. : when a guy is an ass and hot it doesn't matter anymore he's just an ass. Which I thought was great. - met a new and interesting guy today. Cute, in a rugged sort of way!
  18. Cool, I had no idea either.
  19. The liking of cheese is a very controversial topic! Some dismiss it as mere mouldy milk and unfit for consumption while others eat only cheese for the whole of their lives! Which are you?
  20. Me too! . 2 1/2?! I'd have left after 45 minutes at the most hehe. Unless there were other people there and I had stuff to do .
  21. Hehe my social life is quite organised.. probably because I am available to IM quite a lot. One of my pet peeves is people who say they will turn up at a specific time somewhere and then not doing or turning up really late. Thats why I like to organise stuff where I can, so people cant say they didnt know about anything. Hehe. My academic and personal life.. not so organised! I dont like talking on the phone, I 'er' and 'uhmmm' and I find it hard to think properly when Im talking on it. Im getting better at it, though . Sometimes I have 90 minute plus conversations with people I know well .
  22. I like it because there are actually less expectations for me of how I should behave. I dont have to pretend to be a womanising, lecherous football loving pervert that I often see straight men acting as. It goes without saying that there are exceptions to that. I can just be 'normal', myself, and most people will attribute it to my sexuality but actually, no, its just that other people have corrupted their expections of male 'normality'. I am more normal than they are. I also like being able to explore different sides of me, feminine and masculine. It would be much harder to do that and get away with it were I straight. I also enjoy the freedom to tell offensive jokes about this minority we belong to. The shock turning to laughter on people's faces that a gay man would tell such a joke is great. Plus, I like being fabulous!
  23. When I read the title I was expecting some poor disabled kid with a bone condition or something. .. pleasantly surprised..
  24. I personally have used it for that purpose! Desperate for the toilet, realising that there was no toilet paper in the flat and none to be 'had' from public toilets for miles! Someone in my flat was a reader (for comedy im sure!), and it was very handy .
