While it now seems all unicorns and rainbows, we know dark clouds are forming. Mark, how can you make such a happy story cause an anxiety attack? I look forward to what will perhaps be your best writing yet. (Cue the theme music from "Jaws".)

I think Edward is on the right track. Our first clue takes us to a cop living in New Jersey, probably with a view of the twin towers.

Chapter 100: Final Chapter
davewri commented on Mark Arbour's story chapter in Chapter 100: Final Chapter
Mark and the Team, Thank you all so much for giving so much of your time and talent to create this magnificent saga. I will now be checking this site every hour until the next great story begins. -
Only three beating hearts? After 154 chapters, I cannot think you would kill off one of these main characters, so I ASSUME that the heart will start again in the next chapter. Fantastic storm scene really well written. I hope to see the big B***h die soon. Bravo

Wow! Mark, you keep writing such an enthralling story. I read each chapter two or three times just to savor the richness of your skill. Sad to read about Shane, but that is how you keep the story realistic. Gay teen suicide is all too common to ignore. I hope Will finds a boyfriend and cuts off all these parasites who just want to blow and go. It's too early for Will to make a life commitment, but I hope he does find a soul mate soon.

I think we can safely say that Mark is an "Academic". Some of my best friends are Academics. I have a double major in Music History and Art History and also a degree in Electrical Engineering. That took seven years of college, so I know an academic when I see one. What's the problem in calling someone an "academic"?

Will is my favorite character but it seems things are going a little too well for him right now. I'm thinking a serious wake up call is in the works. Mark, you wouldn't hurt Will would you?
-
These last few chapters are causing me a lot of anxiety. I feel the end of 'Paternity' is getting close. There will be withdrawal symptoms. We can all hope the next adventure that Mark brings us will be as excellent as this one. Truly the best writing on the internet.
-
My guess is David, Wade's psychologist, was a part of the 'accident'. Someone else got to the coach first but Will feels just as guilty for planning the death. There is still Michael to deal with. Good writing, Mark!

When it was leaked that chapter 91 would be a 'tear jerker', I was afraid something tragic was coming. What a pleasant surprise Christmas family reunion for JP. Will is becoming my hero in this story and his journey from a boy to a man is heart warming. There is still a lot of unfinished business in Paternity and I don't know how Mark can possibly wrap up all of this. Almost a year to cover before 9/11 leaves plenty of time to get everyone settled down.

Well this is a very happy chapter and everthing seems to be getting better.........but I hear the ticking of the bombs in the background. Real drama is lurking and a lot of things have to be resolved. I think a three-way with Brad, Wade, and Matt would be hot. Can't wait for the drama that has to come. :mace:

Mark, I have enjoyed Paternity more than any of your writings. The characters are so well developed I feel like I should know them personally. I lived in Santa Barbara from 1985 to 1995, half way between these guys. Maybe they were passing over in their private jet while I was walking down State Street. (UC Santa Barbara would make a great story in itself with the rich and beautiful kids.) If you have written up to chapter 95, it should be easy to go on to 100. Thank you for all that you give to us.

Thank you Mark. I was hoping to wake up and find a new chapter, just like an anticipated Christmas morning present in some sense. A well polished chapter of a great story. Will is bringing his family together and I expect he can be the one that JJ needs for healing. I went back and did a quick read of Millennium to see how Brad deals with people that hurt his family. Things look grim for the Coach, Michael, and anyone else involved. When writing fiction you can give people what they really deserve and in this case I hope it is slow and painful.
-
Mark, you are a diabolical genius and a gifted writer. Can't wait for each chapter to see how you resolve this nightmare. Will, who is now in the inner cricle, is getting advanced lessons in how a powerful family deals with a serious problem. Michael the bodyguard might be joining the coach in the "accident" that must be coming. Will is not squeamish in the possible ruthless demise of the bad guys, but I don't see him pulling the trigger. JJ is in for a horrible confrontation when he learns that his family knows the secret realtionship with his coach. Hopefully he turns to Will for brotherly help.
-
Let the guessing games begin. Hopefully Mark will post rapidly for the duration of this cliffhanger. A quick google search Perpetrators of child abuse or neglect are most often the child’s own parents. According to National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System, in 2005, 79.4 percent of perpetrators were parents and 6.8 percent were other relatives.

Putting aside the actual technical details of file attrbutes of Windows 2000, it is fitting that Will is the person that found those pictures. I thought at the time Michael got away too easy. Will does not hate JJ, he hates the way JJ has been acting. Brothers may argue and fight but they are still brothers. We have been warned that there are a few chapters coming soon that are tear jerkers. Lets hope they will be tears of joy.
-
Wow ! In the history of cliffhangers, this is a big one. Finally we will get some answers about JJ. Robbie's decision to come back and apologize is a significant turning point, however, the triangle of Brad, Wade, and Matt could be a game changer.
-
Well, you know you are rich when your diamonds have a name. I love Nana. Matt was severely psychologically damaged by his father and it is beginning to rear it's ugly head. We don't know what mischief Robbie is up to in Malibu and JJ is headed for a disaster. Matt and Wade are seeing the effects of an 'open' relationship. Now it seems Will is actually showing a little bit of maturity. Let's see if he gets a boyfriend his own age. This is why I can't wait each morning to see the next chapter.
-
Wow! Another powerful chapter. I see some bad times coming for JJ. If he can't skate he will completly loose it. Can't wait for each chapter.
-
You are a diabolical person. Didn't see this coming. I am re-thinking my hit list for the Twin Towers disaster story.
-
It's possible someone in Trevor and Shane's inner circle is on Bridgettes payroll. This has been a great story and then end is near. Lot's of questions to be answered in three chapters.
-
A great author can suspend reality and keep us enthralled, even to the point where the reader relates to the story as if it were reality. This is not a story about the technical aspects of the structure and functions of corporations, it's about fathers and sons. The eternal story of how a boy becomes a man is so intriguing. So many questions about what happens next to these great characters keeps me reading every posting. Mark, you are a darn good writer!

Another well written chapter that is laying the foundation for Will to become the next major player in this saga. Stef is grooming his grandson for the fortune he is likely to inherit. While some may think Stef is 'petty', he has become one of the worlds richest men because of his business acumen. Giving Will a share of Anders-Hayes is small change from Stef's personal wealth. Allowing Will to make a decision in the board room is part of Will's education that you can't get from a textbook. The way to get Brad's attention seems to be thru his passion for Anders-Hayes. The rug has not yet been pulled out from under Brad, but Stef has shown him how easily he could be shut out.

Wow, what an exciting dinner party! Happy New Year fireworks from Mark. The first step to resolving the problem with Robbie, is for Robbie to understand that he has a problem. Robbie needs a major wake up call. Brad can use his legal custody of JJ, and Stef and Brad together can cut Robbie out of his job. Counting down to chapter 91. Thank you Mark for your great writing and we all look forward to what you give us in 2013.
