In the place where my rank symbol would usually show up, I see a broken image symbol. The attacked symbol is how I see it on Google Chrome on the computer, but the same happens on Android. And I also don't see it on my user profile. I don't know if this a problem on my end in some way or on GA's end, but I'd figured I'd say in case it's on your end.

Percy spends a few weeks alone with his friend Five at his grandfather's winter home in the lead-up to Christmas. What starts as a game of gay chicken may go further than either of them expects. For the most part, Frosted Hearts is a funny lighthearted story with a lot of romance and sex, but it also has some heavier moments at times. I really liked this story. It's not necessary to have read any other Glacier Bay stories to understand this one.

Ah, I misunderstood your reason for them to jump from 19 to 21. It's to match the time it will pass in real life between stories.

That sounds really fun, things would definitely get crazy, and I agree that they are better as a group. This time was different because the particular story you wanted to tell could only happen if Five and Percy were left alone. I don't know if your idea of having them be 21 is them being able to legally drink alcohol (as opposed to drinking it anyway, despite that). If it is, your yacht idea would allow you to achieve the same thing at the age of 20 if they do it in a country with a drinking age of 18 (there are a lot), instead of the US.

Sure, and Five's parents are realistic. But I'm still going to criticise them as characters, not the writing about them. I'm looking forward to that. I hope your next Christmas story will a wider group, including these two. We'd get to see that dynamic better that way. That makes sense, I really didn't want him to stay in the closet. Both for the sake of future stories and because it would be bad for him.

That was intense, but you showed things have consequences to the physical and mental health, that was good. It sucks for our characters, but it's realistic. Ethan will spend time in jail and his brother is dead, that will mess him up. Even with the awful stuff Ira did, his dead is still very tough for Ethan because it's his brother. I'm glad Percy's grandfather helped him, his actions in this pair of chapters turned my opinion on him around and now I hope he won't be in jail for long. Bethany is stuck trying to comfort her ex-boyfriend, and presumably also the guy he broke up with her for. That's a lot, I don't envy her and I don't judge her or her patience wearing thin. Knowing Five isn't allowed to fly for a while because of his ear, once she had an idea for when Five got released, I just knew the plan had to be driving all the way to San Francisco. Bethany, thank you for helping the two guys that made you lose your boyfriend. Five lost his hearing in one ear, there's the realism by having actual permanent consequences of the ending. It sucks that he had to separated from Percy, but it couldn't be helped. Percy had to be taken to the best doctor for what he had and Five couldn't fly. But fuck Five's parents, their son having a serious medical issue should always be more important than their holidays. His self doubt sucks to deal with, but it makes sense and I'd probably be the same in that situation. He hasn't yet experienced life dating Percy outside of the bubble of being isolated from the world, so he doesn't know how Percy would feel at that point. When I heard Five was flown to be in the hands of the best doctor, I was worried because it means it was serious. Being told Five was considerably better off than Percy and then learning he lost his hearing in one ear had me bracing for impact wondering what was worse than that. He actually recovered from that worse, coming close to dying, But it sucks that he won't be able to play baseball professionally. I get how that made him give up, he feels like there's no point. He would have regretted it later if that had made him not recover as much, but it's hard to convince someone of that. Which is why Bethany was the saviour of his recovery through her plan to bring Five to Percy. Because, with Five by his side, Percy will now have the strength to fight to recover as much as possible. I'm looking forward to seeing Percy and Five again, to see what their dynamic as a couple is like when they're around their friends. Thank you for a great story.

Thanks for the explanation of what could have been. That alternative version sounds very dark. Ira has a tough backstory, now that you explained it. It wouldn't have excused what you had planned for him, but that didn't actually happen and I can understand the homophobia passing on from his father. Ethan would have also went to a dark path, but he didn't in this version and the risk he's taking to save Percy and Five's lives redeems what he actually did. As for Ira and John, I did get the impression from Ira's confidence that he had done this before, and from John's nerves that he hadn't. So your thoughts on that came through in the writing.

Tbh, I had to look at the comments to know who Ira and John are, it's been a while and I'm not good with names. Ira is hypocrite by using a homophobic slur. I don't care if him and John don't stick their dicks on each other, the spanking is sexual and it's between two guys. It's not going to end well for them, Percy won't be merciful because they hurt Five and Five won't be merciful because they hurt Percy. Ethan finally shows up, he pretty much had to be the guy hiding around the property. We thought he was mad at Percy for leading him on a bit, only to then not have sex with him, and we though his attempts with Five were about getting back at Percy. But him replying to “He’s my everything.” with “Why do you think I left you alone?” paints him in a much better light than I expected. Ethan is obviously still wrong for spying on Percy and Five to jerk off to them having sex and steal used underwear. But he definitely made up for that by helping them now, he's potentially even risking his own life. After an initial natural reaction caused by being pissed off at Ethan, Percy allowing Ethan to be alone with the most important thing in his life, the man he loves, is a big show of trust.

Seeing Percy being named explicitly but not Five, I have to say Five better be alive by the end of this story or I'm going to travel to San Francisco and force you to eat chocolate ice cream.

It looks like you should take a cue from old movie (that I never watched) called Christmas in July in regards to when you should start posting on your next Christmas story to make sure you finish it on Christmas. (I didn't say which year's July, you have earned the right to take a break from Christmas stories.)

I was only making an observation, not asking to see more penises on TV. I also prefer asses, anyway, and HR shows them plenty of times.

I've read the story so far, but I haven't had the time to comment on the last few chapters with the level of detail I like. I still want to go back and do that, but there's one aspect of this chapter I didn't want to wait to comment on. When Rhaelce learns Chihiro has powers, he is prejudiced against her out of fear of what she is. Malik also has powers and he has a decision to make. He can either come clear to Rhaelce and hope their friendship will make him reconsider that fear, but risk losing him because of that prejudice against people with powers. Or he can not say anything about himself, but that would mean abandoning Chihiro because of Rhaelce's prejudice, plus he'd know their friendship is based on a lie and it could end if he came clean about his own powers to Rhaelce. He decided to tell the truth and he lost Rhaelce's friendship, but at least he was honest about himself. Now read the previous paragraph again but, instead of it being about powers, imagine it was about Chihiro and Malik being LGBT+ (I'm not saying she is, that doesn't matter, it's a hypothetical to make a point) and Rhaelce being prejudiced against that. You can see that the decision Malik faced, and the reason he had to take this option, it works well as a metaphor for that.

Thank you for the news, it looks like you have a lot of great updates planned. I'm happy to see you included more notifications options in the things you're planning to do. I'd subscribe to more authors if I could tailor my notifications in the way I'm going to explain, which I also said on the survey. Let's say there's author I like, but they're writing a zombie story and I'm not interested in that genre. I don't want to get emails for the zombie story, but I'd like to know when they start a new story. That's why I said I'd like the ability to only get notifications for the first chapter of stories from authors I follow. Then I'd use that chapter to decide whether to follow the story, which would send me emails for every chapter.

I played around with this tool and it seems very useful, especially for new readers. It was a bit overwhelming to figure out what to read when I first got here.

I'm in Portugal and I can't connect to GA without a VPN since last night, the site just doesn't load. This is happening on both desktop and mobile, since I think about 10 hours ago. I was only able to connect now by using a VPN that connected me to the Netherlands.

That was a good ending, with his mom having fully come around and things being good with Evan. I like not knowing what happened to Sam because, despite my instincts being wanting closure, him disappearing once he realises he can't get more money from his mon is the more realistic scenario.

This is where my mind went when I read the title:

We learned about the turmoil in Ray's past, the sexual abuse from his uncle. This was probably the cause of him being in the mental space that led to his actions, not that works as an excuse. He managed to open up about that in therapy, I'm happy for him, although it sucks how hard is it to get a convictions. And this should also prevent the issue from repeating itself. No turmoil on the other part of the story. Ben that Marty is interested having sex with Nathan obviously doesn't cause any because he's gay himself. But we get the funny role reversal of the son and his boyfriend giving his dad the gay sex talk. Meanwhile, with Marty lending his car to Justin and offering to pay for a hotel or motel room, I'm reminded that he still hasn't told Ben about the change in his financial situation.
