    The first chapter of Erebi is a framework for the rest of the story. And a wonderfully complex and three dimension framework it is. A family in crisis. A dying Mother (and apparently a murdered father, infor from the summary). A caste society? Based on sex? Not sure yet. Three brothers and two sisters faced with survival choices. There are hints and implications about their home and their individual lives. Jiovanni, seems to be the central character. An underaged boy playing an adult's game. An Erebi is a boy who contracts out his mind and body to a dominant male. This may be difficult to understand to be honest. I won't know until I have read more. But the writing and storytelling I like.

    I have been thinking about Andy, he spent a year or more closing down. Shutting himself away. Now he is becoming so open. Is it just coming to terms with his sexuality, that has brought this about? It makes me think of Matt, who was always open because of the support initially given by Andy. I think this is the other side of that, what Matt gave Andy is the foundation Andy is now building from. What I am saying is I saw a lot of Matt in Andy in this chapter. Does any one else see this?
