  1. I'll see your hug and raise you a glomp , Thanks for the welcome *glomp* And if i didn't have school i'd be right there with you reading all day long. If only...
  2. *FANGASM*
  3. Donatella Versace Amy Winehouse I feel mean for say it, but it's true. I just wouldn't want to look like them.
  4. I'll always love Spirited Away but that's one anime compared to the many Pixar movies i love. I'm also one of the many people that absolutely love Death Note, but i don't really watch that much anime anymore. I prefer reading the Mangas. Although i also think that American comics are better than mangas because they just look so much better, they're sometimes in colour, and i appreciate and admire all the effort that goes into creating all those individual illustrations. To me, American comics (like the aforementioned Buffy: Season 8) are what i would consider art and although i acknowledge that Mangas can also be considered art as well, i just think the characters aren't as imaginative and sometimes just look like modified versions of other characters /tangent I don't think i can choose between American Cartoons and Anime, i've watched some really great stuff in both categories.
  5. I've been lurking around for a few months now so i thought i'd just introduce myself. My actual name is Supriya, i'm 17, live in Sydney and i'm an e-fiction-reading addict. It's kind of horrible in that i never get any actual work done at home because i'm constantly distracted. As soon as i finish a story, half an hour later i'm reading something else i've found. It's been that way since i was probably 11/12 and obsessed with Harry Potter fanfiction I'm also a bit of a dork (Doctor Who! Battlestar Galactica! and a bunch of other less dorky shows; weeds, dexter, chuck, hustle, buffy...) and a huge music lover. HUGE. Also love art and history. Hoping to become a graphic designer one day. I have this awful habit of just not sleeping enough and thinking there are a million better things to do with my time. I'm one of those "i'll sleep when i'm dead" people, although i usually end up feeling dead in the morning. (it's nearly 4am so i'll definately be feeling it later) My brother once told me "only boring people say they're bored" so ever since then i've found hundreds of ridiculous ways to entertain myself and it's probably why i'm interested in so many other different things as well. That's me in a nutshell, i guess. BOO!
  6. it's not hot at all here 15
  7. I like writers who understand that their readers are intellegent, imaginative and can take a hint. So although i like descriptive writting, sometimes it's nice having things a little vague to let me use my imagination. I also think that although authors try to convey certain journeys through their stories (be it phsycial, spiritual, emotional or imaginative), stories are often retreats and/or escapes for their readers, it's an imaginative journey for them as well and sometimes allowing them to fill in the blanks can help them relate more to the characters and events, possibly making it more enjoyable and realistic.
  8. hahaha ouch
  9. http://www.youtube.c...h?v=nYP1gxC9G6A ever since i finished reading It Started With Brian by Dan Kinkaid, that song always makes me really sad. It's the only song that's ever made me cry.
  10. No. Entertained the idea, quite a bit. never went through with it. My best friend, though, is another matter altogether. She's attempted it a few times and also hurts herself heaps. drugs, cutting, bad relationships. It got better for a while when she realised what it would do to her family, but i dont think the pain ever went away. Then after a particularly bad time she reverted back to her old self. She talks to me, tells me pretty much everything and so i kind of understand why she thinks the way she does. But i think the depression and lonliness are really what start killing people slowly from the inside, making them think that suicide is the way out.
  11. hahaha that made me laugh He also reminds me of my friends' bird. it just never sees the glass...
  12. Girl Talk's album, Night Ripper. Basically just one massive, catchy, 40 minute song. It's also fun trying to recognise the songs because the DJ (Girl Talk) uses samples from over 200 different songs on that one album. Of Montreal's album, Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer?. Energy overload Placebo, The Strokes, Sunset Rubdown, TV on the Radio, Yeasayer, The Magnetic Fields, Ladytron, Jackson Jackson, Digitalism, Daft Punk, The Crystal Method...or anything else that i feel like
  13. The Perks Of Being A Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky The Picture Of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde Catcher In The Rye - J D Salinger Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy - Douglas Adams Series: Harry Potter - J K Rowling Vampire Chronicles - Anne Rice
  14. Vampires - how can i not love them after reading Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. They are what real vampires are meant to be like sexy, dark, alluring...not some poncy teenager that sparkles in the sun THEY'RE NOT MEANT TO BE PRANCING AROUND IN THE DAYLIGHT ANYWAY! Also after watching all 7 seasons on Buffy The Vampire Slayer, i'm slightly bias. Other: Shaun Tan characters - i dont even think they have names, but they're so cute and expressive and he's an amazing illustrator. Each character is just so creative and interesting, i love 'the lost thing', i love Shaun Tan.
  15. kittens! Although, i've never actually had one. I kind of/maybe/sort of stole my next door neighbours cat, but not really. It wasn't our fault she kept coming over...
  16. That made me laugh As for me, i just turn slightly stalkerish when i use public transport and if i see someone good looking/interesting/different i'll sit somewhere on the bus where i can see them, or go into the same train carriage as them. Then i make up little stories in my head about where they're going, to do what, why, who will they be with....that kind of stuff. i need some way to entertain myself on the way to/from school, so you cant blame me =] Also, in winter if i'm wide awake at night or just dont want to go to bed, i'll jump out my window and walk around the neighbour hood writing messages on cars (with my fingers of course). So when people are going to work the next day and they look in their rear veiw mirror they'll see a giant BOO! in their misty window.
