I think it's primarily because when authors post there they want to get feedback on their new story before they launch into it full force. Thus it sort of makes sense to target an audience that has shown themselves willing to comment. Anyway I see that you now have 5 posts so I hope you enjoy it (and do let us know what you thought ). I'm all for expanding poetry here at GA. I confess the way I generally treat it is much like I treat the stories: if I know and like the author and consistantly enjoy their work I'm likely to read it...otherwise I may not get around to it. However, despite essentially treating it the same myself I don't think it's necessarily a good idea for it to be treated the same in terms of classification I'm really ignorant about what goes into web building and site design, but if it wouldn't take many resources to do it I'd definitely say we might as well give poetry it's own place. Would it be practical (in terms of expense and effort expended) to simply break the Efiction section into "Epoetry" and "Estories" or something? I'm just assuming based on the high number of forums and subforums that we have that it wouldn't be that difficult to creat a "Poetry announcement" forum and a "Poetry discussion" forum, so I don't see why we shouldn't. Of course I really don't know about the mechanics of of how the site is designed, or what increases cost, so maybe it would be costly. Anyway I look forward to finding out how the poll turns out and I'd be happy to see more support for poets and poetry-readers. I'll also change my signature to link to this discussion and the poll, and hopefully maybe someone will click on them. Take care and have an awesome day everyone, Kevin

So since everyone's been going back and forth one whether or not Kyle's gay, and whether or not he has feelings for Cameron. I thought it might be fun if we tried to focus all our thoughts in one place and get to the bottom of it! So what do you guys all think? I think he's straight (and thus doesn't have feelings for Cameron). I think the reason he's so upset is because he feels like Cameron didn't trust him despite the fact that for years he was really the only one to show Cameron any affection or caring. If I had to guess I'd say that they won't end up moving in together. At least not within the time frame of the story. I also think that if they did it wouldn't be a big problem regarding Cam and Cole's freedom. Remember this passage from the last chapter:

So what do you guys think? And why? I think Connor's going to stay with Ben. I don't think there's enough time left for a full resolution of all the stuff between Connor and Ryan, at least not to the point that they could get back together. So my 2nd guess would be that Connor realizes he has unresolved issues with Ryan, and thus breaks up with Ben, but doesn't go straight into a relationship with Ryan again. Also if you get in now you can start following Dom's latest release The Other Side of Me and post along with us in the forum as it unfolds OHHH I think perhaps that's why it takes me so long to read anything around here! I stretch it out as much as possible and savour it! I'm really looking forward to seeing how SOOTB winds up, and yet at the same time I will be sorry to see it end . I just read chapter two; I really enjoyed it! I was so happy that Kevin decided to tell Patricia and George the truth about what had happened to him. I was also glad that he broke down and started crying as I think that probably worked to his advantage. I kept hoping he would say something to stop George from calling the police. I guess he was going to have to eventually anyway though. I mean I don't suppose they could have just kept him without alerting the authorities. I'm really eager to see what happens next! Will the police allow him to stay with his grandparents, and will they even believe him? Or will he somehow end up staying with Patricia, George, and Steele? I really think these characters are going to play into the rest of the story, and perhaps I'm just making wild assumptions, but I suspect Steele is going to be the "love interest" in the story. Anyway it was an awesome follow-up to what I consider one of the best first chapters of a story that I've read in a long time! I can't wait for more! Take care and have an awesome day everyone! I just read this story. I found it incredibly difficult read as I really have no stomach for such things. Amusingly enough toward the middle I realized I'd actually covered my eyes with my hands and was peeking through my fingers! I agree with Camy: it was disturbing. But elegantly so. It was extremely poignant and while it made me physically sick (which I don't mind at all, I like being deeply affected by the arts) it made the whole thing sound exciting and beautiful. In fact it was so good at getting inside the mind set of self-mutilators and suicidal people that I can think of a few people I wouldn't want to read it . It's also very clear that you did your homework, Luc, as everything I know about the phenomenon from my studies in psychology was spot on! Also it was interesting to hear again about how the hands and fingers are the most difficult to draw (whatever the milieu). Of course I can barely do more than stick people personally speaking (I'm talking about conventional drawing/painting of course!!). Anyway I'm extremely impressed with how well and beautifully you described the whole process. Wonderful job, I'm glad I read it. Kevin

Awesome job, Nick!! I want to discuss it, but I don't want to give any spoilers so don't read on if you haven't read it yet! I was shocked with how it ended! I really expected Jarred to break it off with Andrew, confess everything to Phillip, and hopefully they'd be able to work things out. I really didn't expect Andrew to know Jarred was cheating on him and I really didn't expect him to want to stay with Jarred after all that! It's a testament to how well-written the story is that I actually found myself sympathetic toward Andrew and Jarred. I don't usually think much of cheaters and people who facilitate cheating, and yet their emotions and feelings were so well explained that I can begin to understand them. I still don't agree with them, and I think what they're doing is bad and wrong, but I can understand them. I feel so sorry for Phillip. I mean he thinks he's in this happy relationship and everything is great, but really he's getting messed around on. It really raises the question of whether or not ignorance truly is bliss. Personally I'd want to know and I'd dump the SOB , but I guess there's something to be said for the fact that he's happy. I wonder what's going to happen with Jarred's parents though. Now that they know about Andrew they'll probably be on the watch for he and Jarred spending time together and stuff. I don't suppose they'd like the fact that Jarred was still messing around on Phillip. It's good that this part was left unresolved though, as it couldn't really have come to any definite resolution anyway; it'll probably be an on-going thing. Anyway I loved the story, Nick, and I liked how original and unexpected everything was. It was also really well done to make me go somewhat easy on characters I'd normally want to tear to shreds lol. You're right, Altimexis, I average about an hour and a half per Dom chapter. So reading straight through it would take me 37 and a half hours to read the whole thing in one sitting! Yes I agree! As I was reading this section I couldn't help but think that Cody had basically replaced Mikey in the group. I mean he wasn't friends with any of them before, and initially things were awkward because of Toby and Mikey's past. It sorta seems like now that Mikey's out of the picture Cody is finally able to settle in with the group. Don't get me wrong I'm certainly not criticising Cody or the others, I just think Mikey's death might have helped facilitate Cody (more easily) becoming a solid member of their little friendship group. WOW! The whole time I was reading it I kept thinking Connor was being an unreasonable, snotty little brat. Just shows how differently two people can take the same thing. Yes it was a nice little detail to add! I really felt badly for Dominic. I'm glad he's going to be spending more time with the others. I'm inclined to agree. I was hoping for a reconciliation, and it does look a tad more promising after this last chapter, but if I had to guess I'd still say they'll be apart by the close of the story. Anyway it was an awesome chapter and I'm looking forward to a very moving, and powerful finale! Great job, David! Kevin
