the moral of the story? :-) just kidding. loved reading it. it may not offer any remedies, any solutions, any causes even. but well put forth. especially liked the following portions:- "It's not about will power. There is no will or power." "It's all bullshit of course. Once I had the bright idea of taping the intellectual conversations that I was a part of high and it it just sounded like a bunch of f**ked up people babbling." "The coke whores are gone and you are the same self-doubting, pussy, wimp that you always were. You are just a lot poorer for the experience and... you want more."
  2. Honestly i dont get why "I" wud create a topic, without any real prupose. But then thats my way of thinking, and if you wish to ask a question purely to satisfy your curiosity, I have no rights to question your question. And trust me that was never my intention. Well, you didnt ask the question in the first place Thanks
  3. Yes Robyn, And I certainly dont feel bad about you asking this question, if thats what you meant. Its just that I dont know what the point is. Will it help you in any way, to know what preference people have? will it make you feel better about yourself?
  4. Couldnt it be argued that the opposite of that is also the same. ?? Think about it. I mean I really dont want to put forward any opinion, as to "whether looks matter or not". Because to me, thats just a silly meaningless question. There is no GOOD AIM whatsoever, in asking that question. I mean what good can come off it anyway. Its either the people who are disgruntled with their looks and how people treat them. Or its about people who like to show off that they dont go for looks.
  5. HAPPY BRITHDAY NIGHTHOWL !!!
  6. Sure I do, thank you so much for the link, Its great to observe them.
  7. I had visited this site a long time back. I dont remember if I had read any of the stories then. On my return a couple of months back, the first story I read was a very good one. I dont remember the title, its about a ghost train on a mountainous track. :-)
  8. Well then, what was the 3rd option about ??? We already had the 2nd option for NO.
  9. Belated Wishes Jamie, Hope you had a wonderful day!!!
  10. Cool advice, also it depends on "where in the story" you are. You certainly dont want to read through a lot of unrelated details in the middle of something gripping. Althoug of course, one can argue that details can add to that effect for some readers. I guess you should, like mentioned earlier, try your hands at a lot of different styles, until you discover something you are comfortable with.
  11. Welcome to GA Bob And thumbs up for being courageous
  12. ^^Cool Pics, like to save them all :-)
  13. HAPPY BIRTHDAY NEPHY !!! WISH YOU A FUN-FILLED SPECIAL DAY
  14. the details r fantastic, those who dont want, they can always skim through it, atleast the ppl who love to read it all, have the option to do so. so my suggestion, keep the details.
  15. :-)... could not agree more. and if I were a straight guy, I would rather let myself be labelled "gay" for kissing someone, than to "not kiss" just to prove that I am not gay.
  16. There shud be a 4th option to the poll. I prefer just the cuddle wuddle stuff, None of the sex crap.
  17. Herez 1 comment that I liked the most :- "I'm old enough to remember when it was considered effeminate and unmanly for men to put on deodorant or aftershave. "The manly tang of real sweat", some said. Well, every man I know wears deodorant these days. I remember when long hair was considered a sign that you weren't a real man, probably a communist, too. Does anybody any longer believe such crap? I remember when earrings or studs were a sign not just that you a raving homo but that you were some kind of dangerous subversive. Once again, does anyone etc. A pink t-shirt was an infallible sign of suspect sexuality. And so on and so on. All these "proofs" that you were or were not a "real man" have been discarded because they were clearly tosh. Personally, I only kiss my wife on the lips. But I'm getting old and conservative. The whole concept of maleness is shifting, and it wouldn't bother me at all to see two guys kissing or holding hands. After all, they do it all the time on sportsfields. Get over yourselves, all you troglodytes. Just because *you* don't like it, doesn't mean it's wrong. The times they are a-changin', and for the better, too."
  18. Well, read the artcle and the comments too. The article is decent, may be slightly exaggerating the whole thing, but its still quite good. The comments however, are so homophobic and so stodgy. Makes one wonder, how can such people exist in this day and age. About the kiss thing, ya if girls can do it, why cant boys. A little trivia:- there was a very famous actor, who used to express his love to his full-grown son, who is also an actor, by a kiss on the lips. The actor was not the least gay, nor his son. And it didnt look awkward at all. Infact it sort of signified his total belief in confidence in his own heterosexuality. Well, I will try and post a pic of them. On a different note, getting kissed on the lips is a very private thing, and I would find it very offending, if someone tried to kiss me on the lips without permission.
  19. I feel them much more strongly while writing it, later it becomes more of a matter of being objective or impersonal about it.
  20. Yes, there is a difference I agree, bewteen "stories in progress" & "stories abandoned".... Most of the people here seem to be tolerant enough about delays in the continuation of the stories in progress. Its great for the writers. And yes, the best way to get some one to post or finish a story is to give them some honest feedback. Few words of appreciation. What else do the writers want, what else do they aim for, when they begin penning a story. Not a raw deal, I wud say. About finishing the entire story before posting it - well, I am sure there are people who can pull this off. but its too daunting a task for me. I mean I wouldnt want to spend months on writing a story only to discover later that it will have no takers when finally I do post the entire thing.
  21. This thread is making me horny dudes
  22. yes ribur, i agree. of course there was racism. i didnt mean to deny its existance, on the contrary, my point was, has it really been eradicated. we see frequent cases of racial attacks. how do we determine, whether we r making any progress.
  23. Lolz ...
  24. Yes Ricky "We as a society need to teach and demand tolerance and acceptance."... Abt Racism, I am not sure if the society ever "supported" it. And I have no idea, whether racist attacks have lessened or increased in recent times.
