This is the third and final part of the Confounded Trilogy, portraying a May - December story with familiar characters. You would be wise to (re)read the previous parts of this trilogy, to get reacquainted with the characters; some you will know, some are new. Some references will hark back to previous writings, and will make more sense. This story is told from perspectives, so called Points of View (POV).

Awesome! I know some have that, it's still eluded me, hence me writing it. I get to experience it via characters, vicariously. 😁

EPILOGUE --==Kit’s POV==-- One year later, Westwood, LA. I woke up alone. Beside me, the bed was empty. It was 6am. That didn’t seem right; it had been our first night in the new apartment. In our new living room. Our new kitchen. Our new bed, thoroughly christened during the night. The sound of water running and soft humming came from the other side of the bedroom, where the door to the bathroom was slightly ajar. I grinned, stretching lazily. Mhm, very thorough. A few muscl

I added a few lines in this chapter; see if you can spot them. 🙂 Basically, Tom was doing the same to Kelly as he blamed Kit for doing. I had her call him on it, to better reflect that he's no saint either.

Always a critic. 🤣😂🤣 This was actually old writing. I had to look up what a Pontiac GTO was, again, lol! It fits him.

Why thank you! I appreciate you saying that. They're rather dated by now, but they're still fun reads. You should try The House Always Wins, after this. I wrote it during this one, then let this one slide for a loooooong long time. Too long.

Enjoy! I'm actually writing on the next part, at the moment. 😁

Oh, don't you worry. Confounded: Part III is ready to go. It's about 3/4 done and I'll start posting that once this is wrapped. I was planning a 4th installment, but I think I'll reshuffle the chapters a bit and combine it into one, making this a trilogy instead. On their own, they'd be rather small as stories. I'm currently fiddling with it, see if I can get that to work. Then there's another that I'm writing on. It's a cute little exercise, someone gave me opposites, see what I could do with it.

CHAPTER 55 --==Taylan’s POV==-- At the last minute, I’d suggested that they might want to bring the car up the driveway themselves, the deep monster sound roaring as Dana drove it up, Roman and Alia in the backseat. The giant neon-pink ribbon had been her idea. It looked both amazing and pretty flamboyant, laughing my ass off while filming it on my phone. And then Tom. He just stood there, slack jawed. Wanna know what the kicker was? They DID bring pizzas! And beer! Keeping i

Coming up on the end of this story! Much of it was written long ago, just not into a cohesive text; more like loose bits here and there, waiting to be knitted together, years after. The end I already have, so it's just a matter of more 'knitting'. Stay tuned! 😁 Edit: Confounded II is actually finished now! I just wrote the epilogue.

CHAPTER 54 --==Tom’s POV==-- I don’t think I’ve ever had a better day than this one. Well, most of it anyway. Overall? Yeah, great day. Not knowing what to expect, we arrived at BSL’s HQ, an older building with an entrance that had a kind of homey feel to it. Big high desk, plants everywhere, low lighting. Two girls sat there, one on the phone, which seemed to ring every minute, and another looking up with a reserved but welcoming smile, widening to a genuine one when Kit approached; I

CHAPTER 53 --==Taylan’s POV==-- I got to the dealership at about the same time Dana pulled into the parking lot; she waved at me as I exited my car, coming over. “Hi Hon,” she greeted me, going for a kiss and a hug. Returning it, I then leaned back, my arms still around her. “The kid knows.” I figured I’d tell her right away, so no surprises. It hadn’t been a conscious decision to tell Tom, this morning. I kinda just…blurted it out. Yes, that was totally on me, acting/spe

I'll up a new chapter in some 6 hours from now, after I've returned home!
-
Yes, it was. It still works. 😉 I may revisit it though, I'm seeing some errors.
-
I am contemplating upping the next chapter... 😉
-
You'd be surprised how easy it was/is! I'm happily typing away, lol.

Ooooh, we are the same day, then. I re-read the whole thing, to get back into their mindset. Corrected done stuff along the way, that'll be referred to in the next story. Lot of details to keep track of.
-
Lol, might differ a day: yours is the 5th? Glad to be back and writing. Next chapter is already done, but I'm not posting it until next week. Giving myself time to get ahead. 😄

CHAPTER 52 --==Kit’s POV==-- “Can you do the noose?” Tom growled. Dressed in a mid-gray herringbone track stripe suit, Tom Ford if my eye didn’t deceive me, and a light-blue shirt, he came over with a dark blue Grenadine tie, throwing his jacket on the bed. His hair was still wet from the shower and he smelled very nice! It was a scent I hadn’t smelled before, some new cologne he’d gotten with Taylan on their shopping spree. Taking it, I had him move in front of the mirror and slo

I just should stop promising. Seriously, 4 years later...yikes! 😂 But I am writing on this again. As said elsewhere, taking my time. Also writing on the sequels, it's a one big jumble in my head.

Quite right. I edited that out, and reworded some lines here and there. Any clerk would've walked out at being called names and rightly so. It's still rude but I hope it now reads not as offensive as it was. I thought, upon re-reading it was too offensive as well, and uncalled for. I am busy writing on this story some more and you touched on another point in your comment, which I will address. 🙏

😘 Thanks! I remember you!

Well, well....hello there! 5 years later, I return and to my deep shame, I see that this story is still not finished. My sincere apologies. However, I have news: - I am writing again. The joy I found in writing disappeared for a long while. A very long while, yes. It has returned, since about a month ago and I spent much of my three-week vacation writing, after first re-reading this one. And then it just...began again. The joy in writing had returned and I wrote from dusk till dawn, about two weeks straight. An idea formed and resulted in hundreds of pages, to be exact. And I found I wasn't done with these characters. So: - I'm planning to expand this story with one more installment, making this a trilogy series instead of a two-parter; - The 3rd is actually almost complete, about 3/4 done, and you're not going to see that one coming ; - One other story formed in my head while writing, went on that tangent for a while and it's about halfway. So here I am again. Chapter 52 is coming soon enough, but not today. Just know that you can expect it in the near future. And I will not be using the pace I previously did. I want stories finished now, before I start posting. Take my time. I've done my George RR Martin stint.

Avoided, mostly. I got caught a few times, and just took the verbal crappola.
