Suddenly I looked up after clobbering away on the keyboard for a while and there it was. Dunno where it came from, it just appeared. had to wipe the eyes a bit. You're welcome! Yeah, this story is pretty much completed. I am editing the chapters as I go, re-reading and such, to make sure it all fits. But this has been completed for years; I just never really felt comfy posting it, with Confounded II still uncompleted. But alas...I kinda felt I could now..

Correct. I've arrived at the chapter that next goes up; it's given me a great deal of headaches, over the years. Wrote/deleted/rewrote/edited etc etc...but I think I got it where it needs to be. It's the only chapter that really makes me anxious to post. I'l fiddle with it some more; it may arrive in an hour, it may in a day.
