This is an all hands on deck, international terrorism situation brewing, critical secrets broadcast, a Russian Sub in their waters now aiding the national maritime crisis. Such political ploys is a huge distraction and hampering the manhunt. That Sailor can walk the plank, his legacy would end quickly if they want to right the ship.

Kissing cousins don’t fight for long, but this will get Will an even bigger voice at the table if he plays this situation well. The JIC has some questions to answer too, and he just put an investigation bullseye of his management decisions and affiliations. It could bring him down even if this is just his pride, cause resources were diverted when the nation is in crisis…and he did it outside the chain of command, which is a big no-no. No excuse either when the branch chief is sitting in on the same meeting.

Ahhh, but that also puts Templeton in direct conference with Will. So the latest agenda may still be pushed even against MI6 roadblock and phony pride; unless…is the JIC Chief showing more than agency rivalries? Could he have ties to the puppet master at North Aegis? As a Chief of Intelligence, his conduct was deplorable. Acting against the state intelligence agency and a well respected agent is masked with acting quickly to do his job, yet he seems to be aiding the villains; is it his pride or his affiliations, either make him unworthy as a Joint Chief. 😈

Even tougher when the characters have nicknames and past names, club pronouns, and of course the appropriate adjective names, etc.; I’m almost at the point of an index card! Haha

Capt Volkov and the sonar team are getting great practical experience guiding and monitoring the DSV. Likewise, many high qualified and patriotic sa8lors have volunteered to e a part of the skeleton crew. Assuming the DSV will offload the last of the scheduled evacuees before the nefarious return, I hope the on site commander Volkov and his astute sonar crew will prompt sonar communications with the Acheron to then piece together the secret and nefarious portion of that mission. Should they attempt that side mission on the last run itself, then they will still have 10 sailors from the Acheron on board to catch them in the act and hopefully thwart that attempt the unauthorized sinking of the Acheron …after they search for what no longer exists on/in the Acheron. Hmmm, can Andrew get 18 skeleton crew sailors aboard the DSV so they can wave farewell to the mercenaries they restrained in the submarine they have placed timed charges on and within, with no time to disarm them all? Scuttle the Scuttlers? 🙏 Eighteen sailors in the DSV…it would be like the old days, of how many people at one single time, could we get into a VW Bettle. Who’s poking a finger in my ass? Sorry, that’s not my finger though.

Krista, much like your previous stories with teen angst and coming out issues, I think you’ve nailed it each time and I think you’re doing it again this time; I have never felt your story feeling stagnated, I don’t think you need to second-guess yourself as the author as I know I’m enjoying this tremendously and apparently others feel the same way!
