  1. That’s some major freedom…but much risk and responsibility to oneself and neighbors in such rural and isolated territory and way of life. This is exactly the type of description of your country and your way of life that you have shared with us through the years. Thanks again for your wonderful tales from down under.
  2. Hmmm, Rhode Island; neither a state nor an island, with <1/3 the population of the rural state of Mississippi, <1/4 that of Alabama. Only one real city or metropolitan area, no functional county governments other than police and court districts. It kinda makes Providence a city state…like the Vatican City, but 600% larger than the Holy City.
  3. No doubt plenty of time for reflection.

    Chapter 34

Ahhhh, but his lost sight doesn’t mean lost cause. Rick now has confirmation that Corcoran is indeed still in town and apparently stalking him as close as ever. Now, how to find him in that crowded venue without putting anyone at risk; coop can’t risk leaving Adam’s side, but the younger table mate may be a secondary target now too. I doubt the police would want to form a cordon around this gay venue trying to catch someone already slipping from sight. 😠

    Chapter 4

Even a gargoyle has an ass, just harder to tell heads from tails.
  9. I thought this was possibly going in a different direction. We had 4 muskogee ducks that were fully mature but had been raised from hatchlings and were very domesticated…pets. I had stepped around to the back yard to pick up for mowing. My personal duck was a drake I had named Dominic. Well, Dominic was being uncharacteristically defensive and aggressive about his position, which was where I needed to get the water hose rolled and stowed. When I had paused my approach Dominic had stop honking and lowered his wings. But as soon as I started moving towards that area once again, Dominic got even more aggressive, honking louder, wings spread to their impressive full extension and with warnings flaps towards me. Hmmm 🧐, I asked him what was wrong with him, what has you upset, boy? He somewhat turned to look behind him, but kept his guarded position. The other ducks were staying to my right, Dominic’s left, but also honking with wings drooped like a momma bird drawing you from her chicks. Looking back to Dominic and the area he kept cross-checking behind him, I finally came to understand. There was a sizable water moccasin over near the water hose at the back of the house. 😯 Ahhh, thank you Dominic. As soon as I let them know I see him now, I turned to grab a shovel, returning to find Dominic now leading his little flock off with all excitement removed. Well, snake 1 became snakes 1 & 2; were then re-homed to hole yet to come. So Dominic lead me too, or guarded me from a hazard. He was the same protecting the territory from stray animals/dogs, but always friendly to family.

    FT Chapter 1 - Ben

My brothers had 18 and 36 months age advantage on me so it was no wonder that the trusty dog, Bandit, stayed with me…strategically of course. I worked closer to home so it’s was safer for Bandit to be by my side then farther away with them. Me being 10yo often up very early, and when it was very dark, Bandit was my lookout and protector. My runs from home were limited to about 2 miles, where the brothers went 3 and 4 respectively. Bandit didn’t allow other dogs or people within my close circle unless I told him it was ok. While not exceeding 2 miles from the house, the route had me ping-ponging on my bicycle for about 7-1/2 miles total; about 3 hours of darkness that was much easier to brave with Bandit always trotting at my side. Even when collecting account monies, he stood my guard out next to my bike. He did this with me until I started driving, even then, he would sometimes still ride along with me, then wait by the front of my car for my return. Should I go inside, he would then move up to the door until I came back outside; I think listening Unfortunately, his mileage and his high paced life caught up with him by the time I turned 18. After hunting, catching, killing, and burying many varmints with Bandit, that was the toughest hole to dig. My older neighbor man helped me lower him into the hole as he knew this one required the care and respect of special handling. We grew up together, expanding the area and hours for which we ventured as we grew…Bandit, trotting by my side.

    Chapter 33

I feel your pain, your ailments, and your free shaded vision; though very mild for me by most comparisons. But unfortunately I’m also adding in battle damage to the tune of many broken bones with moderate to severe nerve damage. I wish it not upon anyone. As I visit friends and family laid to rest at the cemetery, I’m ecstatic that l’m here to cherish my memories of them vs someone else visiting me in the Big Sleep called RIP.

    Chapter 33

Probably for the best…all those hip replacements and brittle bones don’t hold for hard rock; and it’s not the same with mic stands used as walking sticks.

    Chapter 33

Oh boy, that sure is a both edged sword; finding Corcoran or finding Coop, which wins their bets? 😳

    Chapter 33

Kinda wondering if Coop shouldn’t be taking the same advice as that given… his young brothers. His job title and off duty dis-arming is not to be taken lightly, he is a target, the target 🎯. If he’s insisting on going out, perhaps they should making either a sting or at least have surveillance; human and electronic tracking.

I don’t know, both Jonny and Jaxson never saw his power drive coming head-on; hardly backseat reservations.

    Chapter 31

Absolutely, if she wants to run the ranch I think the ATVs are the perfect pace vehicles; a rope leash to her bound hands and a gag for that dirty mouth; that should be perfect conditioning to understand the ranch’s hierarchy. She won’t try to skip meals after that, otherwise those dog bowls will already be empty.

    Chapter 31

No, no, no, not broken; renewed life after soul sucking by mommy dearest but he has now lived a little. Should something happen to break up the boys…well, watch out faux mom.
