Like everyone else said: thank GOD Matt was smart enough to think of calling the cops. I'm actually surprised Sheriff Nelson didn't recognize him - Matt was the guy the sheriff was so friendly to at the diner, right? I'm so happy they finally found Avery and put a bullet in that d-bag Carl. Even a shoulder bullet is painful - let him writhe on the dirty floor in agony. For hours. Or days. Maybe weeks...years...I could go on and on. lol I just hope Avery pulls through - he's not out of the woods by any means. I wonder what will happen with William. Hmmm, I thought 911 calls automatically use a caller ID system, but I could be totally wrong. I wonder if they tracked the phone to Matt and Matt has been trying to call/text Avery, but since the battery is dead, he can't get through. Maybe once Avery sticks it on the charger he'll see all these worried messages. Just a thought. Ok, patiently (well, not-so-patiently, Mom!), waiting for tomorrow's chapter.

It's obvious from Barry's reaction that this has happened before. Avery isn't the first boy to be tortured and raped by the monster William. I wish Barry would grow a pair (although I do understand his hesitancy knowing his family could all be shot), and look for something in Avery's duffel bag, find the phone and call for help for God's sakes! I don't know how Avery is going to last for a whole week like that - at least his father never tasered him. I'm with Robert - a stiff drink would be good right about now. lol But it's only 12:30...but hell, it's 5 o'clock somewhere!

I agree with all your other readers; A&M's kiss was great. It was so sweet and innocent. I'm glad he's having such a good time with Matt and they're bonding pretty well. =) I think Avery should take his phone on the trip (of course hide it), but he'll need it for sure. Maybe he'll feel brave enough to call 911. Hey! Matt should have put a GPS tracker in the phone - is that what they call it where he can track where Avery is? I have a feeling Avery's going to need Matt coming to his rescue during his time away.

What a great chapter where Avery could be like any other teenager hanging out at the mall on a Saturday. Unfortunately the dark cloud that is his sperm donor follows him around wherever he goes. How can he truly enjoy himself when he knows he's going to get a beating later? Especially IF that man finds his new phone (what an awesome gift!), and the t-shirt. Like Fax said, the sperm donor will probably throw it around, smashing it, or step on it. Either way, Avery won't have it for long. I hope Matt bought insurance on it. Although I'm sure the insurance wouldn't cover sperm donor purposely smashing and stomping on phone till it's in tiny bits all over Avery's floor. I was ecstatic when Erin and Matt noticed Avery's wrists, but unfortunately they believed his 'irritated skin' story. It was great that Avery finally experienced a happy few hours, but I'm not looking forward to what he'll have to do in return.

The sheriff seemed to take a real liking to Matt. Avery better stake his claim on Matt before the sheriff does. lol Of course you know I think it's horrible what the sperm donor is doing to Avery, and learning that this all started the year after Avery's mom left, when Avery still loved that person and trusted him to take care of him and keep him safe, and tainting all Avery's Christmases from now on and betraying Avery's eleven-year-old trust and love is unforgivable. Everything the sperm donor has been doing is unforgivable. But this has been going on for SIX YEARS!!!!! I'm surprised he let Avery go to the mall with Erin and Matt. Of course he'll make Avery pay later for his "kindness". But as Avery said, what other horrible things could he do to him that he hasn't done already? It's bad enough when the sperm donor abuses him, wait until he starts pimping Avery out. I want Erin and Matt to start fattening Avery up and making him stronger so he could at least lift a frying pan and smash it over the sperm donor's head.

I agree with everything Columbus said - except for all the computer-speak. lol I, too, had tears running down my face while I was reading this. It's not only the anguish of telling his best friend in the whole wide world his secret and fearing that he'll be rejected, but it's knowing that he has to tell Michael that he's in love with him and he can't find someone of his own if he's constantly comparing everyone to Michael, and he can't be around Michael all the time b/c his feelings just keep getting stronger. And I felt Michael's pain and confusion b/c ok, he has no problem with his best friend being gay, so why should they need to stop hanging out? Then Kendall drops the bombshell of being in love with him and he's speechless. I love the way you showed us what Michael looked like instead of told us. You did an awesome job with the details; I felt like I was looking at Michael with Kendall's eyes. And I'm not surprised your first chapter of your first story is so fantastic; you are one of the best reviewers on GA. You put your heart and soul into each and every review, so it doesn't surprise me that you do the same for your stories. =) In fact, I used to be a pretty good reviewer myself, but now with you, Columbus, and Tim always beating me in reading the chapters, I can never match the great reviews you guys give. So truthfully, I'm usually inclined to just write: Ditto what they said. lol At least now I don't have to think as much when I review stories. Wouldn't it be great if Matt decided to drive by again when the sperm donor's "client" is over? Maybe Matt could peek in the windows and see dear old sperm donor abusing Avery. Wishful thinking on my part. I just want someone to save Avery. How sad it must be for him to think that this is his lot in life and it will always be like this. I can't imagine him working with that bastard at his real estate business. The bastard will probably take him into his office to "discipline" him.

I'm so glad Matt was there to help Avery. Thank God he made him the soup, b/c who knows when he'll eat again. The sperm donor probably feeds him so little b/c he doesn't want him getting too strong so he'd lose control over him. I wonder if Avery did take the meds or if he just hid them so the sperm donor wouldn't find them. I really had wished that when he was passed out and in the nurse's office, someone would have seen bruises or something on him, like if his shirt rode up or something. Hopefully soon someone (Matt maybe?) will notice something's not right.
