Honestly, this chapter and Joel's eventual reaction at the baseball field feels long overdue. He's not even 18, and he's been through a lot in a month. He's wound so tightly fearing that everyone will figure him out, that he's just exhausted. And then the loss of #17, and the realization that while Warhawk baseball is baseball, its not Joel's comforting "home" baseball that always grounded him and given him something to define himself with at Tempton. This entire chapter was nothing but Joel comparing old to new and being so off kilter he couldn't define himself. Yes, there were moments with Devin and even Colt that helped him relax, but he's got to do that on his own. I also can't help thinking about Joel's reaction to the rumors about him and Lorianne. He seems to be so bothered by it that I can't help but wonder if he won't out himself in some way to end that. Or maybe even Lorianne can sense that in him, and knows he's no danger? Could be why she insisted that he join her for lunch, knowing how much Rissa chased the others away in the past.

I'm betting that Davin has 100% figured things out, and is in a similar boat. The boy is too connected and too comfortable with Joel to not be somewhat on the same wavelength. I think Gavin knows as well, but it doesn't bother him or really impact him at all. (Except he may be worried about his brother getting tangled up with Joel.) I agree that Colt is just a little self-obsessed and has immature blinders on to what is really going on. He just wants to enjoy his senior year and at the moment sees Joel as an annoying charity case his parents have picked up for some reason. I think he'll eventually come around, but its going to take time for him to pull his head out of his behind. Krista, what is the posting schedule for this story looking like? I guess I wasn't expecting the next chapter till next Friday, but each chapter just leads me to want more and more. Pretty please can we get more soon?

I think I'm in love with Bruce. Hope he's as good a friend to Sawyer as he appears to be. Maybe he can be as good a friend to Marc to, and help Marc and Sawyer figure things out!

Endings is one of those amazing stories that can so easily play through nearly every emotion and draws the reader into it fully. A journey of growth, that runs the gauntlet from sad and agngry, to the discovery of forgiveness, acceptance, and ultimately love. It shows how complex emotions can be and how hard it can be to for two people to truly communicate and effectively be a couple. Easily one of my favorite stores from my favorite author!

Love the chapter, and so glad to see Rick step up and begin to not let life just be dictated to him. Feels like he's in the driver's seat. Zoltan locking up the house and hiding Gus away doesn't surprise me at all. As Zoltan himself admitted, he's done this for (puke!) Gus before. I'm willing to bet Zoltan convinced Gus it was Rick that doesn't want to see him (maybe even tried the engagement rumor too?), and that leaving and heading back to Chicago would spare Gus pain if there was an accidental Rick sighting. But Rick knows where Gus will be. Gus had said he goes to the museum to think things through. So now Rick's going to have his chance to leave the state for real this time and venture into the big city to get his man. {Or at the very least my theory of how it should play out....} Can't wait for the next chapter!

This was great! A play-off of Voltron, which the recent Netflix re-telling is one of my favorites.

Love this story. Look for it and re-read it each holiday season.

I know there were some changes to the way that notifications worked last year with the site upgrade. And I did my best to follow along during those upgrade and understand the changes, but I just want to make sure I completely understand. Most of the stories I've followed are set to notify me when new content is posted. Does this mean I'll only receive notification via the browser notification system, and not via an email? When I look at the "Method to use for content I follow automatically", it gives options for emails on a per day or once per week choice, but to me isn't clear on how the notification on new content choice is sent.

This. This right here needs to happen. Otherwise it's Billy trying to protect people all over again, and I would hope by now he'd learn that keeping secrets in order to protect someone always, at least for him, screws everything up.

Somehow I missed this update till just now.... So Raeden was able to partially morph and clearly knew that Kim was more than uneasy about fulfilling the other part of the agreement with the Doctor. Very interesting...can't wait for the next chapter!

Leave it to Boris to say what everyone else has been avoiding! And Andrea's reply at the end is little gross to me; she's almost been complicit in the whole affair that means. Another great chapter! Hopefully now Boris will be able to see some of Oli's hang-ups when it comes to their relationship now as well.

Great chapter and great story. I started this last night, and couldn't put it away. (Feeling a little sluggish today, but was totally worth it.) Can't wait for the next chapter!
