Chapter 6 - The Prince Defends Himself
Phoenix1977 commented on Andy78's story chapter in Chapter 6 - The Prince Defends Himself
Fate: 1; King and Queen as parents: -500. Too bad the English language doesn't know stronger words than "complete and utter failure" for the way the King and Queen handled things. I don't see their relationship with their son recovering from this one anytime soon. I wonder, however, how Josh managed to calm Max in the first place. Unless Max had a stroke after Josh' blow-up which isn't completely outside the realm of possibilities. I think things will be tense for a while in the Royal Palace of Salania, and that's putting it mildly. -
Very nice story. Really liked the way it built up and went down. Still, I'm a little dissapointed it will only be a one-shot. I think it really has potential.

Being from the Netherlands I would never have guessed this ending. Still, I really enjoyed it. And who better to give Frank his Merry Christmas than a member of this particular family :-) Good story.

Chapter Two: One of a Kind
Phoenix1977 commented on Thorn Wilde's story chapter in Chapter Two: One of a Kind
How long you can keep it fluffy? It's been two chapters and no major drama yet. I think that is a record for you :-) I expect the bodies to line up any chapter now :-) Anyway, great writing again so keep it coming! -
Nice story. Most stories here are about teens or young adults who either have to accept their sexuality or who need to learn stuff about dating but of course there are "older" men out there as well. And especially those who had a family with kids before their coming out might have a hard time with that. You really captured the struggles of a single gay dad with two teenagers perfectly. Enjoyed reading it.

A nice start, this chapter. Reminds me somewhat of C.S. Lewis' "Chronicles of Narnia" and "Bridge to Terabithia". So you have some pretty big shoes to fill here. Looking forward to seeing you do it.

Too bad Rush didn't tear of the guy's arm. Wonder how he would ever touch himself while thinking of little boys again with one arm less. Hope the guys won't get into trouble though. From my European perspective American law is strange so I wouldn't be surprised if that guy sued Prez for the damage Rush did. Great chapter as always.

What is it with the fathers in your story? They are either reincarnated saints, like Mr. Hundser and Mr. Seaver, or they are evil incarnate. But there's very little grey between black and white. Still, I can't imagine someone pulling a gun on his or her own son just because he's gay. If they were dangerous serial killers, maybe. If they were sadistic child molestors, definately! But simply because they're gay ....

Hi Jeff, Glad you enjoyed the story, even though it's hot and sunny. I'd love to ask if it cooled you a bit but knowing some of the scenes in it ..... :-) Coming holiday season I will make the entire story available as ebook here on the website. Maybe something to keep track of?

Please tell me you won't keep us waiting 5 years for the next chapters. I don't think I can take that :-)

The Day After Yesterday
Phoenix1977 commented on Thorn Wilde's story chapter in The Day After Yesterday
"Ben resolutely ignored the little voice in his head that asked, But what about the next time you have a fight? What about the next time he is really upset about something? Are you really going to entrust your heart to someone who is so utterly incapable of taking care of his own?" Is it physically possible to actually murder little voices like that? Come on! The boy was hurting badly! He was accused of trying to ruin someone's life! Someone he loves! Most people would drown out their sorrows in alcohol and he choose E! Big deal! But perhaps me being Dutch and being accustomed to a very liberal view on drugs might have something to do with it. Pretty much no one acts weird when someone says they have used E, either recently or longer back. -
Ok, so I brought myself up to speed with this story over the last week and I must say I really enjoy it. Although the chapter where Prez finds out his mother's dead and he dreams about Keith commited suicide I almost shut down my browser, not wanting to read on. On the I wanted to comment on, though: "Remembering a funny movie and a girl nicknamed Lassie, I said, "It’s that smell. All them sweaty T-shirts and socks and jocks and wooooowooooowoooooo!" " The movie being discussed, is called "Porky's" and was released in 1982. The young lady nicknamed Lassie was a young Kim Cattrall, an actress more famous as seks addict Samantha Jones from "Seks and the City". Just in case anyone was wondering. Can't wait for the next chapter.

Alan should've gotten to know Matt on this level sooner. Maybe he wouldn't be such a major pain in the ass if he had.

Epilogue: Bright Lights
Phoenix1977 commented on Thorn Wilde's story chapter in Epilogue: Bright Lights
When a story you like comes to an end, it feels good and sad at the same time. It's good because you now know all that happened to the characters you came to love and sad because you know it will be the last you hear of them. Still, to put in a cliché: "All good things must come to an end" and "Nemesis" was definately a good thing. Thanks for sharing this story with us and hope to read another story by your hand sometime soon. Cheers! -
Chapter Sixteen: Thirty-Six Degrees
Phoenix1977 commented on Thorn Wilde's story chapter in Chapter Sixteen: Thirty-Six Degrees
In chapter 15 I thought Dave finally had grown a pair but apparently standing up to his father was a one time occurence. Too bad. Still, his father is a lot of things I would get banned for for life if I put them down here! Maybe I'm blessed with technilogically ignorant parents (who gladly accepted having a gay son without a second thought) but I can't imagine they would even think of sending those kind of texts to my boyfriend or my friends. Not that the lastest thing would work anyway since I was out to my friends before I came out to my parents anyway. Wonderful chapter, as always. Still, I hope we'll see more of Dave's backbone in the next couple of chapters. Otherwise I wonder if he deserves Nick in the first place. -
Chapter Fifteen: Come Home
Phoenix1977 commented on Thorn Wilde's story chapter in Chapter Fifteen: Come Home
Do you hate you main characters or something? Give them a break, already! Just dealt with a rape and now being outed. Talk about being dealt a bad hand! Great chapter, though. But how on earth can a 16 year old get away with "borrowing" and motor cycle, let alone get a room at a B&B? I guess Zoë will have to kick out Graig now so Dave has a place to stay. I don't see his father being ok with either him being gay or having been punched out. Trouble's not over yet. -
Chapter Fourteen: Black-Eyed
Phoenix1977 commented on Thorn Wilde's story chapter in Chapter Fourteen: Black-Eyed
Hardly suprising Graig is an even bigger creep than we already knew. Too bad it will be difficult to prove anything now the evidence is washed away. Still, I think Zoë will kick him out, ass first. If that is the only damage she's going to do to him. -
Chapter Ten: Waiting for the Son of Man

Wow! Your story is going viral on GA here! Well done! Loved the chapter but somehow I missed the Graig stuff. What chapter is that in? -
Chapter One: Nancy Boy

Hmm, frenemies in the making? Love the beginning. Let's see if it keeps this quality of storytelling, shall we? -
A Conference of Confidence - Brad Reynolds
Phoenix1977 commented on Altimexis's story chapter in A Conference of Confidence - Brad Reynolds
I loved reading "Legacy" and this chapter sure feels like the last one. However several lose ends are not tied yet. Are we're going to hear what happens to our missing friends? -
Immigration Reform - Brad Reynolds
Phoenix1977 commented on Altimexis's story chapter in Immigration Reform - Brad Reynolds
I started "Naptown Tales" with "Legacy" and have read all the other parts as well. Sometimes it takes me a moment to remember who-is-who but the good thing is all the tales are there to look back :-) I love the way the story is written (not just "Legacy" but all the "Naptown Tales") and I pretty much can find only one downside: your writing is simply too slow! :-) I'd love to see a new chapter every day! Keep up the good storytelling. -
A Matter of Trust - Jeremy Kimball
Phoenix1977 commented on Altimexis's story chapter in A Matter of Trust - Jeremy Kimball
Somehow I have the feeling I missed a chapter. For instance, in chapter 33 Altaf wasn't abducted yet. Did we indeed miss a chapter or will things be explained later on? -
How easily a situation like this could have gotten out of hand. Wonderfully written. Thanks for this story.

Happy Diamond Jubilee to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
Phoenix1977 replied to PrivateTim's topic in The Lounge
Well, all I know my boyfriend and me had a wonderful time in London during the Jubilee weekend and we didn't even know it at first. We even made a pretty good photo of her majesty during the carriage ride on Tuesday (http://www.flickr.com/photos/phoenix-1977/7386871062/in/photostream) and of The Prince of Wales with the Duchess of Cornwall (http://www.flickr.com/photos/phoenix-1977/7386870386/in/photostream) and the Duke of Cambridge with his brother (http://www.flickr.com/photos/phoenix-1977/7386869946/in/photostream). -
Thanks for your kind words.I'm working on a sequal, which is more difficult than I thought it would be. When I was writing "Devil's son" I never knew where the story was heading but this time I do. That's why writing it somehow became more difficult. I hope to finish the first version of it before the summer. After that I will have some friends pre-read it before I will start publishing. So I suggest to keep your eyes open for "Bring me to life".
