When I did annual reviews of my team members both my immediate director and HR reviewed them. I can't imagine trying to float a negative review of someone like CJ passed them. Wonder if Stephen really thought he could. I've decided to make a trip south, well further south, just to add green dye to his shampoo, no more ginger ...

I like Madame Ambassador. I suspect she'd heard "whispers" concerning Northman's attitude towards CJ but until now was lacking any concrete proof. Having it she made clear her thoughts. Question is, is Stephen smart enough to take that to heart or is he really so small and petty? He's very lucky to have been saved from delivering CJ a negative review while Brett was nearby. César's treatment of Infanta and Lupe was classic. He appreciates their role within his family and recognizes their importance. As a result he treats them as close family friends. I am very much enjoying CMDX.
  3. Hi. We're okay though there will be a huge change in the weather. It was 68/20° today and is forecast to be subfreezing tomorrow.

    Facts of Life

Much to ponder here ... I wonder for how many of my generation sex was rarely discussed at home. It wasn't that it was shameful just not talked about. I came of age during the 70's in a conservative suburban/rural area. We did have a version of sex ed in gym class, a couple of basic explanatory military training films on how our bodies functioned; interestingly the less worldly farm boys had a much better understanding of the mechanics of sex than us townies. Definitely nothing same sex, though many of us had experimented with another boy even if we never admitted to it. I don't think Adam and Andy have any idea how their behavior together makes Eric feel so out of touch. Eric has come a long way and has yet a distance still to travel.

    Real Friends

I hear you little brother. I've oft said it's too easy to pretend that others aren't real people when separated by the ether or when we are wrapped inside a vehicle on the highway. Thank you for your words.

Connections ... Why am I not surprised that another elder statesman has taken a liking for CJ? I think Kent would make a fine mentor. I'm curious as to whether Jürgen plays a future role or was meant as a place filler at dinner. He certainly was out of place. Perhaps he and Northman might become friends. Oops, forgot about politics and Steven is competitive so I suppose not.

I think that since the bugs were discovered so quickly Domogarov is likely to be even more interested in CJ since it's obvious the Embassy suspected he would be targeted and took steps to protect him.

Through no intention of his CJ has brought the family foundation's efforts to help veterans to a new audience and as is the norm has garnered unwanted admiration. Thanks of course to a certain ginger vet. Northman has stopped being subtle in his dislike and is on the losing end. I'm imagining him in 20 or so years on the eve of CJ's inaugural saying "I never did like him."
  14. Hi, hope you feel better soon.
  15. G'day y'all on this 10th day of Christmas. Best Lord a Leaping I could find. Mum keeps asking what I want for my bday. I keep saying I don't know. There isn't really anything. This morning we're going out for brunch after her dr appt. On Wednesday evening we're going to a highly recommended local Italian restaurant for dinner. They're not open on Monday or Tuesdays. It very windy this morning, 45+ wind gusts.
  16. I enjoyed this glimpse into their future and Josh's past.

    Chapter 31

Beautiful and horrifying, hurtful and redemptive all excellently done. You can feel justifiable pride for the work you've created.

    Chapter 30

This chapter is about moving forward for ... Galen, Josh, Jody, Sally, Ethan and Pendragon.
  19. Looks tasty and I like lemon but I prefer a well done basic creme brulee. I admit I once had a ginger creme brulee I enjoyed equally as much. Then again vanilla is my favorite ice cream.

Yeah, but go back and read my edit.

    Chapter 29

There was something missing from Galen's smushed up meatloaf/gravy/mashed potatoes at lunch, corn. As a kid I loved mixing that all together. It was a gross mess but I loved it. Okay, now that I've finished reading the chapter I can say what a loving gesture the date, the roses and candles and dessert were. I like how Galen and Josh are developing a mature relationship. Sex between two loving people is wonderful and it will happen or not. Either way what they have will not be diminished.
