While it seems cruel and unnecessary and in civilian life would be unacceptable, in context that behavior serves a purpose. There is nothing in basic training that is kind and gentle. It's designed to break recruits down and build them back up.

I feel somewhat guilty with our wet, miserable and soggy 41/5°. It has rained so much that there are puddles of standing water in almost all the neighborhood lawns.

My understanding is that each of the local hospitals here could give first does vaccinations to 5,000 each week but are only receiving enough vaccine to innoculate 1,000 folks. The one facility currently has a backlog of 20,000 requests.

It's raining. It's been raining. There are sloppy puddles everywhere, on the sidewalks, in the lawns. It's supposed to continue raining intermittently until next Friday. Thistle's ground clearance is 5-6 inches, he can't walk outside with out getting a wet belly and legs. It's a chilly 38/3° and he just had a bath yesterday before it started raining. Oh, and my head aches. Blessed be y'all.

Sleep well ... I remember when I was a kid the tv would switch to a test pattern or "snow" when the programming end for the day. This "Video unavailable" is reminiscent of that.

Good. We got a call this afternoon from one of the local hospitals and mum has an appt on Tues the 23rd to get her injection. I have to wait because SC does not recognize any health issues as priority. If I was home in PA my kidney disease would qualify me to get the vaccine.

G'day y'all. Twas a foggy dew this morn. The fog eventually cleared to reveal bright sunshine and a blue sky. Mum and I ran a few errands this morning, trip to the bank, the grocery for something I forgot during yesterday's shopping and then a stop at a local nursery just to walk around and enjoy the day. Thistle really enjoys wandering around greenhouses and nurseries so it was a treat for all of us. I bought a packet of snow pea seeds to plant along side the house. On the way home we stopped at Starbucks for coffee. When we got home we talked about what a lovely spring day it was. Bright sunshine and warm temp, 62/16°. We decided since the forecast for the next several days was to be chilly and wet we should do something outdoors so we hopped in the car and went to a nearby complex that features shops and eateries in a common area surrounded by homes and a large park and recreational area. Mum stopped at Barnes & Nobles to buy a couple books while Thistle and I made the 1+ mile trek around the pond. By the time we finished it was early afternoon so I suggested we get lunch at one of the eateries that features outside dining. They specialise in crepes and paninis. Mum had a veggie panini with a bowl of chicken vegetable soup and I had a bratwurst sandwich with pommes frites. By the time we finished dark clouds had filled the sky. We had a wonderful time out. Now we're all resting. Mum is downstairs reading and the pup and I are resting in my room. My head aches ...

Albert sorry I didn't address this earlier, my head is being troublesome. Talk with your doctor about this. When I was on Medicaid I had to justify certain of my migraine meds before they would pay for them. Now every year when the doc writes the new prescription I have to go through the process of justifying my Ajovy injections in order for my Medicare drug plan to pay part of the cost. Your doc should help with this.

We went out. Mum had a chicken and peach quesadilla. I had a fried shrimp and oyster combo with seared brussel sprouts.

If I remember correctly the halo is the result of light reflecting off ice crystals in the upper atmoshere.
