I do love me the recent surfeit of lads in plaid. All that sweetness is liable to raise my blood sugar and I am not about to forgo the treat.

Greetings Albert. I'm better than I've been but the migraines are being problematic. My next series of injections are due soon and it's Spring both factors lead to more intense migraine. I will however persevere. Fortunately the sun is shining albeit chilly for this time of year. The last bout of rain was intense and left everything soggy so a few days of sun will be welcome. I did a few chores this morning and bought a pot of red and gold ranunculus and some minature red romaine lettuce seedings. I'm going to plant a small lettuce patch with the romaine seedlings and some oakleaf seedlings and hope the deer leave it be. The ranunculus are just lntended to be a nice bright spot of color.

True Brad isn't homeless or destitute. However, had he been left to deal with things on his own as so many vets are he very well could be and this would be a different story. In my conversations with Carlos while beta reading I told him how deeply effected I was by his having Brad deploy to Afghanistan. Carlos has never killed off a major character but I feared he might with Brad, I shoulda had more trust in him. My fear was based on remembering my concern for my own son when the USS Enterprise deployed to the Gulf while he served on board and for those other youngmen I mentored through scouting when they deployed. I was certain Brad would not return or not return unscathed. When I read that Brad had lost his legs I feared he was doomed. Brad was for me the "lost sheep" of the Squad. I feared that like so many Brad would simply not find his place and decline. That through a return to alcohol or some other means he would fade to black. Carlos has never done that but the realism he strives for made it a distinct possibility. Brad is as he admits extraordinarily blessed with a tremendous amount of love and support. Without which he could very well have met all the criteria to live at Heros Haven. I can forgive CJ's blithe dismissal of the "details," originally it was CJ that was to be the "voice" of the documentary. Isn't it better that it's Brad instead? CJ thinks so. We know too that Mark fully accepts and supports Brad's being at Heros Haven. Hell he moved out of his home so Brad could live there and delayed his leaving so he could be there for the filming. I think that pretty much legitimises Brad's belonging homeless or not. I debated commenting because I know where this story goes. I don't think I've given anything away.

Nate displayed an enormous amount of trust and love when he told his brother that he had been the bully he feared. To tell his hero that wasn't always the case took true bravery, forgiveness and loving hard. Exceedingly well done, kudos.

Mum and I had turkey and waffles. Not the southern style but rather PA Dutch style. Think open-face hot turkey sandwich using waffles rather than bread. A definite comfort food meal. It's wet and dreary here. Been raining steadily most of the day with potential for 2.5 inches before it ends late tomorrow. Albert, I would gladly bottle some and send it to you. We don't need it. The local rivers have been at minor flood stage for over a month and we've made up for last autumn's minor drought.

Is that the Italian roast pork sandwich? I made those for mum and I on Monday evening. Only I didn't do pepperoncini. Mum doesn't care for them.
