Sorry for the late comment but my head was plaguing me when I read this. I want you to know reading this was a bright spot on an otherwise pain filled day. Thank you.
Spring in upper Michigan. I know that back home in my area of PA the average frost free date is May 15th. That may change with global warming but I always waited until then to plant out sensitive plants like tomatoes, peppers and such. Peas, radishes, onion sets, lettuce usually went in late March/early April.
G'day y'all. Another warm muggy day in SC. The pup and I went for a walk this morning. It was pleasant when we left but by the time we finished an hour later the sun was cooking both of us. We're going to need to start walking at 6:30 to avoid the hot sunshine.
We have those sorts of sausages too. Bratwurst (these are made to grill for sandwiches), smoked sausages, fresh country pork sausage, kielbasa, grillers, etc.
G'day y'all. I have a severe lack of energy or enthusiasm for the day. The weather is in flux. Warm, muggy and currently overcast with potential storms later in the day.
Mum and I went out for dinner at a favorite restaurant of she and my stepdad. Today was their 22nd wedding anniversary and mum wanted to celebrate the memories. The hostess/co-owner called Bill "Mr. Blue-eyes". She was so happy we were there to celebrate.
In my early adulthood I spent 12.5 years working in the poultry industry. Eleven of them in quality assurance. During that time the USDA introduced the HACCP program for poultry processors. I know what went into our products and how formulas were modified over time and how they were made. I still eat chicken tenders and the like but I read labels and choose those made from natural breast meat as opposed to those made from formed meat, i.e. nuggets and patties. That hydrolysed yeast is a source of glutamates and msg as well as some other flavor enhancers. If you don't have blood pressure issues or allergies to glutamate it isn't unhealthy.
Eric is currently out of his element. Unable to take proper care of himself until he's healed he's away from home. His limited means never allowed him the extravagance of fresh seafood that Andy takes for granted so the fishmonger was an unknown. Eric's circumstances make him seem medieval in some respects. Rarely travel more than a few miles from your croft. Rarely experience worldly events or happenings outside your village. Make do with what's to hand. Toil at one thing never expecting better. He's very much a modern day serf. Eric is encountering in a few months time what civilization has spent decades developing.
