  1. Mum says "Thank you, much appreciated".
  2. They are dressed for boating. The shirts are sleeveless Henley jerseys.
  3. G'day y'all. Our walk this morning was delayed an hour by rain. Fortunately it was mostly overcast so bright hot sunshine was not an issue. Forecast to be warm and muggy with frequent showers and t-storms possible through the next 24+ hours. Mum is flying home tomorrow evening.
  4. Mum and I are very happy for you.

    Chapter 3

Oh, I'm certain I'll find something in the story to hold my interest. Schoolboys are like puppies. They're great fun to watch but much better company when they've matured a bit.
  6. Lovely, truly lovely.
  7. Hope all goes well with her and the wee one.
  8. It's a good story. I think you'll like it.

    Afterglow

Is Hunter gay? He's careful not to be seen with Keegan. He isn't interested in anything more than a convenient outlet for sex and at fourteen likely doesn't care if it's another boy as long as it feels good. Well written.
  10. Oh, you're funny. I thought something similiar and was gonna call him "grasshopper".
  11. What's wrong with your head ... thinking too much?
  12. Glad today is better.
  13. Yeah ... I've me doubts about thee too.

    Chapter 3

And now the true adventure begins ... I tend to enjoy British schoolboy stories for the differences between the cultures. Add in the historical prespective and thoroughly likeable characters and I'm hooked.

    Sweet Summer

As a child I and several others used to chase lightening bugs in a neighboring lot. Your words brought the happy laughter and squeals of childish delight to mind. Now of a summer's eve I will sometimes sprawl in the grass out back and watching the twinkling dance in the air above and the swoop and swirl of the bats at their nocturnal business. The soft tattoo of raindrops on the old tin roof ... Thank you for stirring these memories.
  16. Yeah. I installed the unit downstairs. Much more comfortable.
  17. G'day y'all. The day started out warm and muggy/foggy but turned wet. Thistle and I left the house before 6am for our walk. We managed the first half-mile which is a loop that starts and ends at the parking lot where I leave the car. We were just getting ready for the next leg a much longer loop, 1.25 miles/2k when the rain started. We could have continued walking as it was a warm rain but Thistle wanted to stay dry. There is a flash flood warning for small streams and low lying areas until late tonight. Forecast is for 1.5 to 2 inches of rain. Mum and I are going out for breakfast and then ... we're not certain, depends on whether it's still raining.
  18. You mean all those guys brought you flowers? Poor guys apparently it cost them the shirts off their backs.
  19. We worked for four hours. I pruned a seriously overgrown knockout rose, it was 6×6 but not anymore. Now it's about 2.5×3. Pruned my weeping Japanese cherry tree and between us we pulled a gagillion weeds. Now we're sitting under the tree relaxing. We were fortunate, it's been overcast most of the day with a light breeze. The couple times the sun broke through the clouds were short lived. Temp is 79/26° with tropical humidity.
  20. G'day y'all. We are apparently in an unstable weather system meaning we can expect t-storms with heavy rain, etc. any time later today through late tomorrow night. It's currently warm and muggy. Mum and I are going to take advantage of the current lack of rain to do some more weeding. Don't tell her my head already aches and I'd really rather rest quietly. She would tell me rest and go out and weed by herself.
  21. Yeah, yeah brag about the "straight" zucchini. I still say it's dad was gay and traumatised by the forced breeding.
  22. My grandmother was a PK. Her father was a minister in one of the Anabaptist denominations. Convservative but less so than the Amish or Mennonites of the time. Her mother died when she was a young teen and she and her siblings were split up and taken in by various aunts and uncles. She used to say PK's were no better or worse than any others. They were just people. Oh, I remember that video too ...
  23. G'day y'all. Warmer and more humid this morning. Mum and I spent part of yesterday weeding and planting things around the yard until my head said "enough". Happy Father's Day to the dads out there. Mum and I are meeting my youngest stepsister and her family for a late morning brunch. Her oldest daughter just completed her PharmD. M has a gift for her. It's personal and in my opinion lovely. Years ago my stepdad found a pearl in an oyster. He had it set as a small pendant for mum. Because he was so proud of her when entered the program six years ago Mum is passing it on to Aubrey. Then later, at 4, we're meeting with my son and Dani for late lunch/early dinner. Oh, and there is the potential for t-storms later in the day.
  24. Congratulations little brother!
