We have my mom's side of the family over to celebrate. My mom is 70 and is slowing down a bit, so I'm gradually taking over hosting and prep duties, and clean up of course. So I'll be busy.
If we did not provide deep fried turkey for Thanksgiving there may be a riot. People still remember the time my aunt came to a family gathering and did not bring her famous mac and cheese.
I caught some virus that my mom picked up in Colorado around 10 years or so ago and I was down and out for a full two weeks. Like couldn't get out of bed sick. Hope everyone starts to recover soon!
My running days were over before they started, I don't have the knees for it. I exercise regularly through low impact cardio and weight training. I recently had to take a break due to an injury, but slowly getting back into my routine.
And like @Valkyrie said, we'll gladly take some rain.
I don't do a lot of leftovers either, but if I do, I usually try to use the oven or stove top if I can. Microwave if I'm in a hurry and it's not too fancy.
I spent most of the weekend at my Grandma's. She is 92 years old. I always make sure to bring her large print Harlequin novels and we played Skip-Bo. Also had a cookout for one of my cousins who is about to be deployed to Djibouti for a year. I love my family but I'm also extremely happy to be home with just me and the cats today.
