Does anyone have a friendly poltergeist haunting their house?

Mine has opened the garage door when I was sure I closed it, and have left the lights on upstairs when I went to bed. I'm pretty sure of it. -
I accepted the offer for the house. I'm still a little stunned that I listed it Friday morning and had an offer that afternoon.

I was thinking of this earlier and have an example of an unsatisfying ending. I was reading a book that had a very beautiful, tragic wrap up that I was really pleased with. It hurt in the right way. But then, during the last chapter or the epilouge, I can't remember which, the author basically wiped away everything prior that had happened and completely changed the narrative to make a more upbeat, happy ending. I absolutely hated that she did that and still think it was a cowardly out. My sister, who recommended the book, liked the ending so that it was less depressing.

I prefer ambiguous endings myself. I think more important than sad or happy, which seems to be a personal preference, is that the story has a satisfying ending. Genre plays a part too. Romances should always end happily (or at least happily for the characters). Happy endings for horror or thriller novels might be weird, but that also depends on the book. As long as the ending, happy or sad, matches the tone and style of the story, I would be pleased.

Updates on The Creep in case anyone is interested: -Subject has learned to mimic human speak (e.g. I say "good morning", he repeats "good morning"). -Subject has made a sound that is suspiciously similar to human laughter on more than one occasion, but has yet to be observed, so this is unsubstantiated. -Subjects has smiled on one occasion. In this observer's opinion, the subject should do this more often, as it does interesting things to his cheekbones that makes this bisexual girl's heart go pitter patter. Thus ends updates.

I don't get this so much with words in general, but more with names. There are some names attached to people I very much dislike that I won't use in stories, unless it is attached to another unlikeable character.

I definitely did the same thing Maison did when I thought I had lost my black cat Houdini right before a vacation. Including combing the neighborhood with a bag of treats. The little rascal had crawled behind some boxes in my closet.
