Hold over from my Grandmother who was of English descent and whose birthday was Jan 6
-
Yeah, well I love KC, but if anyone was going to get burned it would be him. Glad you enjoyed it Ron.
-
Glad you enjoyed it Sly. I tried to do a story where people would just feel good.
-
Nice thing is in a story you can make things happen as you like, Kitt. I'll take those good wishes though. Here is to a good 2014.
-
Well the prompts are there whenever you are ready. Thanks for the comment though Jo.

Here we are barely a week into the new year and already dealing with issues. A close friend of the family lost his father. He'd gone into the hospital for discs in his back that were disintegrating. When the hospital operated they found cancer in his spinal cord. He went from an expected hospital stay of two weeks and then rehab to just over two weeks and him passing away on Sunday. He was buried today. Also seems I can do no right in other areas of my life. Seriously considering just backing out of a few projects and other things I have been taking care of. Might just make things easier for others. Not sure. Packages are getting out slowly. Oh well. So is life.

Traditionally the tree went up the weekend after my birthday and came down on little Christmas.

The Picnic It was the lazy sort of day you dream about for weeks. I mean usually everyone is so busy trying to get things done, but every once in a blue moon you strike it rich and get just what you want. For me it was a day down by the water with friends. “Oh Lord! You invited them all? Are you crazy Wayne?” I laughed as seen the look Joann was giving me. I mean how many crazy adventures had she been on, and she had the nerve to ask me if I was the one going crazy? “Would you relax? Everyon

These are the prompt stories that began in 2014 and continue until today. I hope you enjoy.

Another Friday is here and you all know what that means - yes, new prompts. Prompt 292 – Creative Tag – The Horoscope You never put any trust in the horoscopes, but today when you got to work your co-worker walked over and nearly shoved the paper in your face asking you to read it. When you looked up your horoscope it was as if someone had filmed your morning so far and what you read for your afternoon completely floored you. What was your horoscope and did it come true? Prompt 293 – Creative Tag – List of Words Use the following in a story – museum, newspaper, crown, torn pants, and a cookie. Last week I had one person say they were going to do a story, but there was only one response. So, I am using it. Yup, I choose my own work. I took a page out of Joann's writing, but didn't make KC the poor man taking the blame. Hopefully next week someone else will write up a story so I have something else to pick on. So till next time, remember to read, write, and review. Enjoy. - Wayne

You got it right down the spine didn't you?

Sorry you aren't feeling well but now we know you are a looker Jo.

Well here we are at the first Friday of the New Year. I hope everyone had fun. As we start the new year I have had people approach me asking about new ideas for the prompts. Considering it isn't the first time I have been approached about this topic, I figured we would give it a try. So, here are your first prompts for 2014 Prompt 290 - Creative Tag - Photo Use the following image to create a story. Prompt 291 – Creative Tag - First Line “Oh crap! Here we go again.” Last week in preparation for the New Year there were two prompts to inspire such writings. Joann took the bull by the horns and once again created something that has to be read to be enjoyed. Of course there is more to her tale, I mean anyone who has read a story by Joann knows she isn't done till she has tormented KC. To read the rest go here - http://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/38159-prompt-289-creative/#entry447209 So that is it ladies and gentlemen. Hopefully your New Year will continue to go well. I hope everyone will read, write, and review. Till next time stay safe and enjoy. - Wayne In addition to the regular Prompt Me blog post, we have posted a second blog post today. Please check out our Hosted Author Background blog post! Thanks!! ~Renee

I sit after having done some of the things my mom always did for the holidays. I put a coin in the window as wish that I wouldn't ever be totally broke, had a piece of fish for good luck, and I was going to watch Dick Clark's Rocking New Year's Eve but just don't have the desire to see the new hosts. I look back at this year and am ready to see it go. There have been many issues. Sometimes I wish I could have been better prepared. My back was the main and over all issue of the year. From the moment it went I have been spending money for doctors and treatments. I am finally getting to the point where I am not in constant pain, but it has wiped out ever dime I had put aside. Just in time for my muffler system in my car to go. As I was always told, if not for bad luck I'd have no luck at all. lol. However I am not too worried. Tax time is almost here and at least I will get that to fix the car. I watched my father's health go through a few major bumps this year as well. Sometimes it is like an armed truce but I promised to help him as much as I can. As I look forward to the New Year there are a few things I hope to accomplish. I am in search of a new job. I want something that will allow me a life. I use to have one. Hell, even when I ran the restaurant years ago my hours were more set then they are now. Hard to try to date or even meet up with friends with no weekends or evenings really free, or when your schedule is nothing alike one week to the other. Hell this year they change the schedule almost daily so you never know what you are doing. Secondly, I am out to just have fun again. Find people to connect with. I hate being at work where I am in my forties and the next nearest person in my work area is twenty three. Not exactly fun when they are talking going out to three am to drink. The days, which I never really did when I was that age, of going out to bars and clubs are behind me. The older I get the more of homebody I become. So need to find a place and people my age where you can actually talk and be heard. Third, I want to keep losing weight. Between my back, my health, and my best friend's wedding this year I have enough incentives to keep losing. For everyone else I just wish them health and peace of mind. As wild as my year has been I have had friends with major health issues, deaths of family members, and more issues than anyone should have to deal with. If I could grant a gift it would the chance for them to relax and enjoy a better year. So as one year ends and another prepares to begin I offer the wish of a Happy New Year that finds everyone with a deeper love, a healthy mind and body, time to reflect, and smaller problems. - Wayne

Love you Renee. You know if you need me I am just a phone call away.

It is that time again, prompt time. Hope everyone has been enjoying their holidays. Now on to the prompts. Prompt 288 – Creative Tag – New Year You made a new resolution for yourself this year. Unfortunately on the first day of the New Year problems immediately arose. What was your resolution? Prompt 289 – Creative Tag – List of Words Use the following words in a story – Champagne, party, dress shirt, pot hole, and a deer. Last week I asked in a prompt to look at what could happen for Christmas. Joann decided to give us one of her special stories. Like it? Wanna know what else she wrote? Of course you do. So go look here - http://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/38117-prompt-287-creative/#entry446059 The other prompt was done as well and can be found here - http://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/38116-prompt-286-creative/ So I hope you all read, write, and review. Have a Happy New Year and be safe. Till next time. - Wayne

I've always thought it was a personal choice. I can't say I have any, but my brother has an eagle across his shoulder, a castle the melts into a wizard on his left calf and a tiger on his right. He added a rose with my mother's date on his arm when she passed. The work on his body is beautiful and personal. The eagle celebrated his sobriety, the tiger was his nickname growing up, and the castle was when he finally was able to buy a home. The only time I don't like a tattoo is when it is poorly done or can be offensive.

It is official. This was the year without any Christmas spirit for me. Since I have gone to work in retail, life as I knew it was over. This year though work has pushed the idea of holiday over the edge. I worked 51 hours over six days. The store has been closing at eleven or midnight, and opened by seven am. There is a marked lack of customers but that hasn't stopped the non-sense. I listen as other stores this year have gone twenty four hours a day till Christmas eve, like Toys-R-Us and Walmart. My father didn't want the house decorated. There is no tree, no lights, and nothing other than Christmas music and the cards people have sent me to make me smile for the holidays. I've worked so much that the gifts I do have for people are in bags, on the floor, in my bedroom awaiting me to wrap them and mail them out. I have decided as long as the gifts are mailed for little Christmas (otherwise known as the Epiphany) on January 6th, I will be happy. Unfortunately between Dad's surgery in November, my back flaring up, strep throat, and wild work hours I still have gifts, wrapped and addressed to be mailed for birthdays that occurred in November. I am just totally out of it. I am off on Sunday and I have to go buy gifts for my father. No idea what I am getting him. I did order him a ring but that won't be here in time so got to get something for him to open. To everyone else, I hope your holiday is going better.

Well, we made it to another Friday. Did you miss me? I hope you all took the time to read and comment on the Anthology which went live last Thursday. However, it is now time for some new prompts. So consider these my gifts to you, open them and let the fun begin. Prompt 286 – Creative Tag – First Line “Is that really the gift you’re giving him?” Prompt 287 – Creative Tag – Holiday Special The malls are a mess, the people are surly, and your shopping list is beginning to look like a noose. However, everything is changed by the actions of one person and now your living your own holiday special. What happened and who is the one that changed your holiday. Anyway, two weeks ago I gave out two prompts and people seemed to jump all over the one about Wonderland. Who knew so many people would want to follow that sexy little rabbit? There were three really excellent entries and I wish I could spot light them all. However, Jaybird85 decided to use this as his first chapter of an ongoing story. (Alright, I'm biased. I like it when someone takes a prompt and runs with it.) Here is a sample of his first chapter. So what do you think? Curious about what else he might have written? I sure hope so. You can find his story and the other talented authors take on this topic here - http://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/38048-prompt-285-creative/#entry444815 And the other prompt also had someone take up the challenge and can be found here - http://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/38047-prompt-284-creative/ So there they are, my gifts to you and the gifts your fellow authors have created for your enjoyment. Don't forget to read, write, and review them all. Enjoy your holiday everyone. Stay safe. - Wayne

The thing I laugh about Russ is the fact he is on suspension, not fired.
-
Joann, it gets worse. They just found a video of him from 2010 stating that all abortion is wrong. It is going viral on youtube. Going to be interesting to see how this plays out. His daughter in laws said in two different interviews if something were to happen, the family would immediately quit the show rather than see themselves split apart and fight over the TV show. Guess we will see which is stronger, the family ties or the money they have been raking in.
-
Okay, even living under a rock like I do I have heard of the show. Not the type of thing I sit down to watch, but then I barely watch much of anything on television lately. The show itself is centered around a family that was making nearly a million a year off their business. Now the father and founder of the group has gone on to have his say on what he feels about gays. That is his opinion, and I feel it is his right to have his say about how he feels. Whether right or wrong he is protected under the constitution. The outrage people are having over A&E dropping him from the show seems to be the issue. When you are the face of not only your own private company, but the face of a show on a network (don't care which one you want to look at) your opinion no longer is just yours but that of everything you represent - that includes your family, your company, the television show, and the channel that show is on. People no longer see just a person but the show and the network. A&E stepped in and attempted to prevent damage to both the network and the show. Say what you want but that family is making millions more from products and things due to the TV show Duck Dynasty then they did from just their ducks. Notice we don't hear his family saying they quit the show, or saying much of anything at all. However, everyone from the Tea Party to Mrs. Nobody has been all over Facebook and the news screaming at how his civil rights were trampled by A&E. At no time do you hear people screaming that this man might have destroyed a television series or done damage to the reputation of A&E which he is a face of. This is not the first time a person has spouted their beliefs to see it backfire and cost them something. Remember Charlie Sheen? Can anyone remember Miss California and her anti gay comments? What about Howard Stern being tossed off the air and going to satellite radio? I mean the lists for stupidity and what it has cost some people goes on and on. The fact is, people are human. The problem is these people represented more than just themselves, even if they refused to admit it. Freedom of speech is allowed, but just remember if you use it that you don't go spouting something that will disgrace you and the company you represent. That could end up costing you your job.

Loved him in a Lion in Winter. He was a great actor.

Thank you Dolores. I always like it when I can do my fantasy worlds.

Yes, at least someone noted I was trying to give a completion to my tale with the prophesy at the end. Thanks for the comments leshwar.
