Congrats. Mine vary depending on what is happening in my life, good, bad or just outright strange. So happy for you.

Tease! Damn it Cia, I want more. I growl at a few authors who usually don't like to write, but you have dozens of tales on your plate, however, it looks like you just gave yourself another. So curious.

Life has a way of going forward, even when we might be frozen and not paying attention. Please forgive me for being a bit out of it lately. I try my best not to let my daily life keep from doing the things I love or the things that are important to me. However, sometimes the daily life overwhelms everything else. I'll start with my father. Tuesday he went in for surgery on two aneurysms that have been growing for over ten years. His doctor stated that most people who have this happen within two years of their discovery have the surgery. Not my father. In fact, they discovered that these were ripe when he was sent for a bone density test. Anyway while in for the surgery they ran a number of tests and instead of relieving him of worry, added a few new facts for him to deal with. So it was discovered he has two more aneurysms, one in his stomach above the two he had, one in his leg, gall stones, and kidney stones. He finally came home today and is going to drive me insane. My back doesn't seem to be getting any better. If anything, it might be getting worse. I'm finding myself in pain more often. Guess that is something I am going to have to look into. My job has announced that they are joining the rest of the idiots and opening up on Thanksgiving evening. While the store opens at 6pm, employees will have to be there by four, which means leaving home by shortly after three. So no Thanksgiving meal for me if I get the opening shift. Funny but as a kid I can remember there wasn't even a thought of Christmas until you seen Santa on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Now there are Christmas decorations and sales in September. Halloween is still fighting to keep its day, but Thanksgiving is an afterthought. Even heard a few politicians say they want to end it as a national holiday because of how much money the government could save and it would guarantee that the parents would have baby sitters because the kids would still have school, and then they could go out to shop. Thanks, but I think they missed the whole meaning and the complaints. Anyway, I have tried to keep up with the prompts and the anthologies. With my various friends and team members falling apart, and my own situation a bit screwed up, my apologies for not getting my own work out on time. Hope you can all forgive me.

Dae, the prompts never close. Some weeks I have dozens of takers and others none at all. The old prompts offer a lot of variety. KC, only you would have read it that way. Trust me, I know there are more stories out there (I have two of my own but didn't think I should list them) so if an author wants to add to the prompt list of longer works let me know. And thank you Miy and Never. Nice to know I will have choices for next week.

Welcome back one and all, for another prompt this fall. Grab your pens and get set, lets see who'll take up this bet. Prompt 278 – Creative Tag – First Line “Please, I can explain.” Prompt 279 – Creative Tag – The Attraction You have been hired to create a new attraction at the amusement park. You were told to let your imagination run wild, but your attraction had to tell a story. Explain the attraction to us. Usually at this point I present a current prompt story for your reading. This week however I wanted to show just how some people have used these prompts. While some have made a simple prompt story for others they became part of longer on going tales. Here are some examples of the interesting ways the authors of GA have used the prompts. Enjoy! James Savik - Case: Black - Zombies and so much more - https://www.gayauthors.org/story/jamessavik/caseblack Mann Ramblings - So Little Magic Left - An outsider, magic, elves, and orcs and that is just the first two chapters! - https://www.gayauthors.org/story/mann-ramblings/solittlemagicleft Renee Stevens - Line of Sight - A father starting over, a puppy, and lots of choices. - https://www.gayauthors.org/story/renee-stevens/lineofsight Cia - Married to the Enemy - Can an arranged marriage lead to more then just peace? - https://www.gayauthors.org/story/cia/marriedtotheenemy Layla - Broken Prince and Mismatched Eyes - Two men who aren't accepted for who they are become mated. Now will they ever accept each other? - https://www.gayauthors.org/story/layla/brokenprinceandmismatchedeyes

I am glad you enjoyed my tale. Rock seems to have grown on a number of people. It was a sad story that I needed to get out. Have to really thank my editor and beta for their aid in making what it is.

Okay this week I want to focus on something slightly different when I do the prompts. i know some of the authors on the site have taken the prompt ideas and either used them as a jump off point for a longer story, some have used them for chapters, but I want to give attention to those who have taken these prompts and run with them. I know a few of them, but I know there are many more and I don't want to snub anyone. If you have taken a prompt and used it in a longer work please let me know here so when this coming Friday's prompts are announced I can highlight your work as well. To name a few that I know of James Savik - Case: Black Mann Ramblings - So Little Magic Left Renee Stevens - LIne of Sight Cia - Married to the Enemy Layla - Broken Prince and Mismatched Eyes I know there are more but for the life of me titles and authors escape me at the moment. So if you are one of the ones inspired by the prompts or have read one that was please let me know. I really would like to spotlight these hard working authors.

I just didn't want to let another opportunity come along and miss getting to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY KC and may all your wishes come true my friend.

If you are in NYC during Christmas you can do the windows in all the major stores. They usually have the list online. Don't forget a trip down to Christopher Street for the Gay part of town. Then it becomes what is it you want to see and do. Boston and DC are both not too far or too expensive, but again it is prime time holiday. If you are in NYC and want to do a day trip you might want to look into seeing things like the Long Island Aircraft museum. Or a trip North to Monticello for Jefferson's home. If you don't mind renting a car you also would only be a few hours from Stockbridge, MA if you are into Art and want to see Norman Rockwell's home. Boston then is just nearly a straight drive from it.

A Bit Too Much - Prompt 274

I always like a slice of life scene. Things are always worse when you mix in alcohol. This is just one of those moments. -

Yeah, sort of changes the dynamics for both people, and everyone they interact with. One of those moments when everything sort of goes to hell and you have no one but yourself to blame. -

Yeah been a bit out of it lately and this and the story before it are both sort of depressing. Fits my mood. Glad you read it though Jo. -

I think we all know someone who has had too much to drink and they open their mouth. Once they do, you just don't know how it is going to go. Glad you liked it. -
Oh lord. You could have anyone. I don't even remember half the people from my graduating class. I had a class of over six hundred. Trying to see who would have possibly had a crush and wants to make a connection would be a bloody nightmare.

I am watching the leaves come down like falling rain, only in tones of red, orange, yellow, pale green, and browns. Friday has arrived after a few days of frost and passing showers so I'm ready for a little change of pace. Hopefully you're ready for some fresh prompts as well. Prompt 276 – Creative Tag - List of Words Use the following words in a story – a Danish, cup of coffee, broken leg, cell phone, and a teddy bear. Prompt 277 – Challenge Tag – The Teacher We have all had one teacher that sticks in our mind. Your challenge is to bring that teacher to life. What was so great or so bad about them that they stick out in your memory. Describe them to bring them to life for us all. Last week was a busy week with a few people taking shots on the prompts. The prompt chosen for this week's feature uses some extreme language but then as its author, AJ, says it is done for a reason. So that was AJ's take on the prompt. To see how others handled prompt 274 you can read them here - http://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/37876-prompt-274-creative/ To see the responses to prompt 275 please go here - http://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/37876-prompt-274-creative/ Remember to write, read, and review. To those of you doing NaNo, I wish you luck. Till next week. - Wayne

“Is that honestly what you think of me?” James turned and faced Amy. She stood there holding a tray of food that shook as held it, facing the small circle of people. “Honestly, yes. I find you to be an overbearing, intrusive, aggravating little bitch who always wants to be in the middle of everything. Truthfully, I think you should simply learn to shut up once in a while.” “James,” Teresa reached out and pulled his arm, “do you have to be so rude.” James ignored his wife and

Thank you Ron. Yeah, usually I like my happy endings, but this prompt really doesn't allow for it. I decided I wanted to show just how wide an affect someone's words could cause hurt. In this case, the entire family.

“Because, I’m leaving you.” We both heard my father’s anguished voice as he read that line and collapsed to the floor. Angie rushed to his side and hugged him. “Please, don’t cry Dad. We love you.” I stood frozen to the spot watching him heave and cry. This was the man who had fallen from the roof, broken his leg, and had the bone come out. The most we had heard was him call for Mama saying he needed an ambulance. Now he was crying like an infant. Angie hung onto him, crying as well. “Why Ch

Many authors have ended up with full blown stories that began as a prompt.

I'm sure many of you are dealing with a hangover ... from the sugar you ate with all the candy last night on Halloween. Just remember today is Friday and the start of the weekend and a chance for you to do something truly wicked. What kind of wicked you ask? Well, what about one of my prompts. Prompt 274 – Creative Tag – First Line “Is that honestly what you think of me?” Prompt 275 – Creative Tag – The Twist You have been invited to be a guest on a new game show. You figured it would be easy to answer some questions and win some money. Once you were in front of the camera you found it all to be rather easy and figured you would end up winning when you seen who your competitors were. Then the host came out and introduced the twist to this new game show. What is it? Last week there were a number of entries for the Halloween themed prompts. Kitt came through a new tale that also returned with the cast of characters she had used in an earlier prompt. While standing completely on its own the story becomes richer if you read the earlier one. Using prompt 273 which read - You are throwing a small Halloween Party for your close friends. You put together some killer food, holiday music, and everything seems perfect. Your guests arrive in some wild costumes and just when it seems everything is perfect you have an uninvited guest show up, and a real witch to boot. Upset by the costumes and attitudes of your guests she cast a spell over them, making them into their costumes until dawn. What sort of things are now at your party? What have you become? Will everyone make it till dawn? Want to know how it ends? Of course you do. You can find it here - http://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/37849-prompt-273-creative/ The rest of last week's prompts can be located here - http://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/37848-prompt-272-creative/ So remember to write, read, and review. Till next week - enjoy. - Wayne

Rustle, You work so often behind the scenes editing the work of others, but you have a talent all your own, that you share with us so rarely. This truly was beautiful. You keep a thin line between ghostly and romantic, never losing one completely in favor of the other. Two men who had just woken to a chance only to see it slip away from them so senselessly. Nicely done.

SpongeBob isn't my favorite either but my godson loves him. I am more old school, Scooby or Looney Tunes. Thanks for the comment and glad you like the little girl.
