    Chapter 1

Well they say wolves mate for life. When you see your mate you just do all you can to protect them and then stay with them. Glad it all came together and you could enjoy this Jo.

    Chapter 1

Well a wolf needs to know his scents. You should know that better than anyone Aditus! Glad you liked my little tale.

    Chapter 1

I think it is sometimes a case of people are destined to be together, but it is up to them to make sure it happens. Sal was a creep and a murderer. He got what he deserved.

    Chapter 1

Yettie, First love is a terrible, terrible thing. It can move mountains, divert rivers, and totally destroy the one in love, especially if it is an unrequited love. You take us on a fast track from first meet, to first lust, to a night of passion. Then drop us into the middle of hell and watch the object of his affection be killed off and worse yet, he is the lone survivor to return to his home. The guilt and loss of love made sure he was never the same again. You capture it all and handle it with such tender love while ripping the poor mans soul to shreds. Incredible story that highlights the horror of war and leaves you wondering about all the others who died and what might have been if the war had not happened. Nicely done.

    And We Are Alone

This one was not as easy to see or understand. Then again poetry isn't always my strong suit. he seems to be blaming his wife for everything and his son is now lame. You have to wonder what was done and why. Still left feeling for the voice of this poem.
  6. So before the end everything he loves was brought low. You go for the juggler and then don't let go Cele. Painful to imagine such a thing.
  7. The whip rips the flesh and the crow watches it happen. Dark and gritty and considering what you were picturing while writing I would say your poem brings your point to bear.

    Chapter 1

This is still my favorite of your stories. I loved how you stitched their scars together to make a lifetime together. From the first fall to the last cut these two just kept together. I was so happy reading this. While every cut, scrape, and break made me wince, I couldn't help but smile knowing how these two felt about each other. Truly a heartwarming story that I love.
  9. Now this was truly an original take on the theme. Mother Earth as she births the mountain and then the life of it. It was wonderful to see the flames of lava, the bolt of lightning and then the animals as they soared and lived upon it as man mined it for minerals. You took us through the life of it while showcasing such beauty in it. Nicely done.

    Chapter 1

With each of the stories you tackled you took the idea of Scars in a totally different direction. Here you show the future and what can easily happen if we don't stop and do something to save the world for those who follow us. I really like how you presented everything here and still manage to chastise the world for failing to take the steps that might allow this to never happen. Great story Bill.

    Poem One

When ever I read poetry that makes me stop and read it again to see if I get the same response, it is always a good piece of poetry. When the voice of the poem looks back and sees itself in so many ways, both good and bad, helpful and harmful, with pride and regret, you realize you are looking at the human condition expressed so beautifully. Thanks Sam.

    Chapter 1

Wow. This was so different. Seeing the world played out against the survival skills of a caveman. It was hard to imagine that life would be so rough. You did an outstanding job with this and I was really impressed when you realize the entire thing is done without a single line of dialogue.

    Chapter 1

I really enjoyed reading about Max and Elliot and was so happy to see them again. Poor guys never seem to get it just the way they want it. Glad Elliot was able to be honest with Max about not fitting in as he hoped to. Max rose to the occasion and the two really are a great couple. Hope to see Elliot use his skills to get even with his boring ex and horrid ex father in law. Wonderful read.

    Into the Fire

There is nothing like a first love and to see one that was ripped apart is so hard. The fact that he married and then at the end was going to find the carny he loved was incredible. I loved the details woven into this and the fact it was based off stories you heard (granted only to a point) helped make it that much better.
  15. There is such an awkward pain here that everyone can relate to. Death isn't something anyone does well, and to see a character with such strength dealing with his wife as she dies and the friend who doesn't know what to say other than "Crap" makes so much sense. As it ends you can't help but fear what will happen when, after his wife is buried, the main character is finally able to let go and that steal resolve breaks down. Extremely honest and painful tale.

    Chapter 1

I really did enjoy this story Bill. I know as a former teacher how you do wonder about those who seem to fall through the cracks. You wish you could do more, or know what the future became for them, but life isn't always like that. Beautifully crafted and so worth the read.

    Story

I like the direction you took the idea of Scars in, Renee. The idea of a family tree with all the names was really unique and I loved how the two men played off each other. Really enjoyed how Ean came up with a way for Tyler to continue the family tradition. A truly sweet little story and I loved it.

    Emergence

Toby survived a horrific situation that went on and on for years. I was happy to see that he wasn't left alone to deal with it. I'm glad that he ended up with friends and a new partner to help ease the pain of what he had lost and what had been stolen from him. Very primal story and was surprised to see that in the end he forgave his capture. Strong story.

    Bright Thunder

Jonas is such a sweet man. The scars he bares are deep and yet he keeps going with the love he finds in Seth. There were many moments in your story where I just sort of sat there, sad and upset that anyone has to face the things he did. You wrote a truly lovely story, Sasha.

    Chapter 1

I love these guys. It was nice learning about them a bit. I wonder what happened that they have been chased all over the galaxy. I am glad to see they are making a go of it and the ranch looks like it might actually make it. Can't wait to see the final installment of this tale. Great story, Cia.

    Chapter 1

There are parts of human nature that just aren't pretty. Abuse knows no boundaries, sex, age, or much of anything. It happens to the rich and the poor. I always like to push my writing and see what I can do with a subject. I am glad you managed to read it Yettie. Thanks for the comments.
  22. Hmm. So many stories and poems. Time to dive in. Thanks to Renee, Cia, and AJ for your hard work. A special thank you to the Anthology Editing Team who worked to make sure every possible error was caught. Now where do I want to begin?

    Chapter 1

In the world I was creating all the wolfs that came into a territory had to go to the Alpha, but if not pack their connection wasn't strong. When the deaths began to pile up, the Alpha decided he would just get help.

    Chapter 1

Thanks Jo. Not an easy story to write, but one that is too often ignored.

    Chapter 1

This is one I couldn't help but go to. With the idea of scars what could be more traumatic or leave scars on the body and the mind then abuse. I didn't want to leave people thinking that it only happens to one sex, or that people go looking for a type. It happens and it is up the individual to want to go on and change or it will only get worse.
