    Chapter 2

Great stuff, N. Really made me think of someone I know/knew who would love this story. Great build up. Keen to read more!
  2. Well, there's a lot to take in there, isn't there?! You're obviously so much more strong and chilled than I am. When I think of losing my job, it makes me feel lost! So I'd be hopeless to advise you on this one, but I would say that doing things for others obviously makes you happy - why wouldn't it? So I wouldn't underestimate the importance of that for you. Hope you find a way of squaring the circle! x
  3. It's good, because of the unexpected nature of the outburst. I think it reads well generally. Nothing jarred for me. So, yeah, take it further - that would be my advice. It's already different, surprising. A great start.

    Story

You're too modest in your response to the other review. You write really well. The build up is beautifully handled. You should certainly write and post more. In my non-expert opinion!
  5. I'm all for gender confusion. Fun story. I like how your imagination works. Happy (and gay!) ever after.

    Chapter 1

Great opening, N. Pace. Interest. Drive. Imagination. I'm curious to see where this is heading!

    Dare

I was enjoying reading this a lot. Very nicely handled little scenes, nice build up. Thought I knew where it was heading. Good fun, reminding me of school years, etc. Then I found myself reading the very end and feeling really emotional - not sure why. Beautiful story-telling, really got to me. Thank you.
  10. you handle the conflict really well here and give us plenty of reason to hate the horrible aunt. there's something horribly familiar about that kind of self-righteous prejudice. i wonder what drives someone to be so hateful.

    Chapter 1

ah the banshee! who could resist? lovely writing. there are so many great folk tales and ballads out there - it would be interesting to gay some of them up, wouldn't it?
  12. i wonder why bridge is such a favourite? more tremendous energy in this chapter. once you get on a roll, you really go for it, i guess.
  13. good pace here. moves on rapidly without losing the detail that is so delicious.
  14. steamy!
  15. um, does it mean i'm shallow that i like this so much?

  18. a grim twist! adds some interesting new dimensions. good stuff.

    Story

has a real energy and is disturbing to me. the end works and leaves a whole book in the suggestion which you don't need to write but the reader can start to imagine. a real example of less is more.

    Story

sweet story. relatively little pain! you show real patience in letting things scarcely develop rather than rushing to the thrill. works really nicely. i enjoy reading your stuff.

    Story

it's great. a little sombre! but you have a talent for handling characters and situations in a sharp manner. hope we don't have to experience horror to arrive at bliss, really!

    Story

Interesting style. Good way to discuss an age-old problem. I think in theory, sharing someone ought to be fine, especially where the bisexual thing is involved, but in practice it's not easy. I mean, I don't like someone reading my magazine before I've finished with it, so I don't cope well with the idea of my partner in someone else's hands. Plus, there's the horrible self-doubt - obviously I'm not good enough for him/her and so they need someone else to feel fulfilled. Then you start to wonder if you need to compete - be a better lover to make sure they don't make the final choice to go with the other. In a sexy fantasy, all sorts of threeways are cool. In reality, I think you've hit that enervating trouble they cause perfectly. Um, in short, I enjoyed this.

    Dani'el

intense and hypnotic. aren't we all just children all the time or half the time anyhow?

    Ishtahar's Song

lovely. reminds me of 'the dead' with the "would not let me come to you"
  25. I remember hearing a colleague proudly proclaiming: "some people live to work; I work to live." And I thought, I am living whilst I'm working, and a lot of my life is taken up with working. So if it wasn't something worthwhile and important to me, why would I do it. The ideal is to love what you do, surely.
