Both of you stay away from my stuff then... or at least take the warnings seriously. Sometimes ADMIN makes me put on EXTRA warnings... LOL.

I don't think I've done a good job if the readers don't get involved... I like them to be emotionally attached, makes for a better reading experience. And that is an excellent way to think about it. My problem is I tend to write things that squick readers. Or kill off characters... or hurt them.

Preach it! I not only need goals but reliable feedback. I'm having issues with both lately.

I write under a pen name... I just started doing it and no one has ever questioned it... on legal, tax info, I put my name "writing as" never been questioned.

Are you sure we aren't related? I tend to alienate mine as well. Sometimes on purpose and sometimes not. heh... just sometimes. or Dutch... Latin was easy compared.

LOL ok the hamburgers actually sound pretty good... something like sweet and sour but with peanuts... the cherry glazed chicken sounds good too. so does the baklava.... I must be hungry.

Ok, what is 'bluefish cold'? What are BBQ-grape jelly burgers with spicy peanut butter spread... sounds like something my kiddos would like.

Yeah I just write what my characters tell me.... I put them in situations then I listen to them and see how they handle it. I'm pretty good at getting inside their heads too... it's scary.

Well I'm experimenting with writing different taboo topics... this one might freak people out... but it's over in the sneak peek thing in um... writers? club. I have about 25k written so far... it's almost plotted out. Then I will just have to flesh it out.

Been pretty good actually. Trying to write and maybe find someone to read a scene I wrote to make sure it's not too over the top...

How are things in your part of the globe, Thorn?

Much of the short fiction I write is experimental in some manner, many of them were written for classes such as yours. Sometimes I set rules to what I write such as every chapter must have the listed elements (which change each chapter) and remain in plot/character etc. My story series "It Was A..." introduced the main character in the first installment, then the rest of the installments were written WITH OUT him at all, although his actions influenced each other chapter directly. Sort of a Where's Waldo in literary form. I have written in first person, second person, third person.... Omni, limited, and strict... past, present, and future... and while these things seem "normal" for one writer to deal with all of them is... not common. Experimenting with your craft is how you develop it.

This story is finished as stated. I've not decided if there will be a second one. I think there might be. I know I left questions, but some stories are just like that... Geraldine is dead. The contracts are in force. The Erebi is no longer Seeking. Make sense? I'll be glad to talk to you about it in the forums.
