  1. Thanks for the review. I think that Robbie would be better off talking direct to Nathan, rather than listening and acting on gossip. Whether he will or not is another matter.
  2. Thanks for the review. We will have to wait and see if your theory is correct or not. Robbie will have to find out who was at the party and do a little detective work, or maybe just get some courage and talk to Nathan about it.
  3. All is not lost for these two. Don't forget that Nathan is a central character within the story. I can however, understand your frustration at Robbie's failure to grab the carrot that's been dangling in front of him for so long.
  4. Yes, Robbie could have made it so much easier for himself by being prepared to admit his sexuality to himself at an earlier stage. Thanks for the review as always.
  5. After getting home from school on Tuesday, Sue led me upstairs to Nicola’s room where I stood next to her and waited, head bowed for the door to open. “Robbie has got something to say to you,” she said, to a very smug looking Nicola who stood in the doorway with her hands on her hips. “Haven’t you dear?” She prodded me in the ribs and I glanced up briefly, trying to avoid any eye contact with the girl who had quickly become my sworn enemy. “Oh…err…yeah,” I said, “I’m sorry for telling you to F
  6. I'm divided in my loyalty to my home country Canada and my adopted home for many years, the UK. Both are doing reasonably well, but team GB will have its work cut out, if they are to replicate their success of four years ago in London. Well done also to the Aussies, another favorite country of mine, who always seem to box well above their weight and the good ole USA, where every athlete, from every country and every sport seems to want to train.
  7. I agree with Drew; this is lowest form of journalism, the guy is a disgrace to his profession.
  8. Nicola has a problem with Robbie, because she sees him constantly being able to get away with stuff that she never could. Don and Sue have made exceptions for Robbie because of his circumstances, but Nicola resents this and believes that he's playing everyone for a fool.
  9. I agree completely, that Nicola is a total bitch, and Sue can't even see it when Robbie points it out. I hope Robbie refuses to apologize and comes up with a cool revenge, but unfortunately he's not very smart, so it would be more luck than cleverness if he did. Ha ha, I love your review Tim. Yes Nicola is a real bitch and we will have to see how Robbie handles her in the next few chapters.
  10. I don't think that Robbie is in need of rehab. He's only dabbled with drugs and alcohol on a couple of occasions, no worse than any other teenager. You're right however, he does have serious issues and he could probably do with talking to a therapist. Don and Sue are realizing that their easy-going approach isn't working with him.
  11. Great review of a great story. Well worth reading.
  12. When I woke, it was dark and I was disorientated. My mouth was parched, I was dehydrated and in need of another pee. My head was throbbing as I stumbled out of bed and tried to find my way around an unfamiliar room. ‘Where’s the bloody bathroom gone’? I could barely see where I was going, so I felt my way along the wall until I came across the bathroom door and then fumbled for the light switch, covering my eyes against the sudden brightness. I took a leak and then cupped my hands to
  13. When I offered to take Fran home, what I actually meant of course, was that I would get a cab to take us to her house and then another cab to take me home again after we had supposedly talked. I wasn’t sure however, what there was left to talk about, or if I even wanted to go into any more detail about my clandestine relationships with two boys with whom I had been sworn to secrecy. Other than Tom’s older brother and the nosey social worker, no one else knew that I had ‘fooled around’, as Tom li
  14. I was up and ready early on Saturday morning for what was to be my first trip to the city and only the second time away from Cobourg. Despite the dark cloud still hanging over me from the day before, caused by my break-up with Fran, I was still determined to make the most of the opportunity to spend some quality time with my friend Rory and Daniel. I still felt bad about Fran, even after my chat with Nathan and even though I was certain that I was doing the right thing, both for her and for me.
  15. I liked this chapter and the interaction between the characters. Well done Luis; keep them coming.
  16. Thank you for your interest in this story. I'm sorry to have kept you waiting, but new chapters should now be posted on a more regular basis.
  17. Thank you so much for your review and encouragement, more chapters should follow now on a regular basis.
  18. Thanks for your review. Robbie knows what he wants now, lets see if he can see it through.
  19. Thanks for your review Parker. You're right Robbie is often his own worst enemy and makes things difficult for himself. Maybe he will have the courage to do things right this time.
  20. Thanks or your review. I think that Robbie is fairly certain now who he wants to date and he and where his sexual preference lies. Now he needs to act.
  21. “What do you mean you can’t come over this weekend?” Fran was stern faced but reasonably controlled when she turned on me towards the end of our chemistry class on Tuesday morning. At least she wasn’t shouting, I knew that she wouldn’t do that in the classroom. “Fran I’m sorry, but I can’t do it. We need to talk okay, I’m serious.” “We don’t need to talk,” she said calmly, “it’s quite clear that you wanna split up with me.” I froze on my stool; my eyes fixed on her. I was expecting her to con

    Back to school

Valentine's day in June? I thought it was February everywhere. Never mind; I've spent more Valentine's days alone than I care to remember. Onto the story; I think that it's great and you're doing a fine job writing in English. There are some phrases that are a little off, but overall, it's a very readable and enjoyable story. Good work.
  23. Apologies for all those waiting patiently for the next chapter of The Cockney Canuck. I've had a very busy couple of months and haven't had the time that I need to edit. I've also had to make a few changes/improvements to the upcoming chapters. I will be posting very soon and hopefully on a more regular basis. Thank you so much for your interest in this story.
  24. Whatever that is. So am I.
  25. Yeah, Henry Cooper was also a great boxer and a really nice bloke. I had the pleasure of meeting 'enry a few years ago in the UK before his death. I felt bad afterwards because despite all his great achievements in boxing, all I wanted to talk about, were the two fights that he lost to Ali. He didn't seem to mind too much; a true gent and Ali of course a true legend.
