I had to cry for Jeff, but mostly for JP. 1968 was a sad year in my life. Our house burned, and I lost a brother. I was barely 8 years old. thank goodness we lived in such a small town that everyone came together, and we wanted for nothing. I remember sitting in the family room with my dad of the house that had been given to us until our new one was completed, and seeing Czech soldiers unboard a plane on tv, on the late news. I was terrified, and asked my father if they were here in America. Vietnam affected everyone. How can anyone no finish this series? U have touched on a lot of sensitive topics, but truth.

Why do I adore Stephan and JP? Like a replica of each other, but from different worlds. Sam, sweet, and loves JP. Jeff needs to make up his mind. I still love Isidore. She is awesome, and i hope eventually you give her someone as her own. Great chapter

I may be thinking wrong, but for some reason, this chapter seem to be a major unveiling of JP. and Jeff's relationship not being as solid as it seemed. Stephan is such a sex hound, but you cannot help but love him. Glad you have show Isadore to be a very intelligent woman, and also supportive of JP. I really loved this chapter even if it was a little sad.

I know every story has to end, but as i got closer to the last chapter, I found myself slowing down, relishing in this time in history. Some of your lines made me want people to stop and appreciate what we are and have. Weather is beautiful, cold as hell or hot. There is always something there to soothe our minds. I haven't peaked, but I am hoping in the part of this read that all of these characters will grow, and of course, I know we will be introduced to new ones. BTW, I absolutely love the character of young Stephan, so young, cocky, and overcoming living in a world where he made his life from what he could make, living on the streets. Last but certainly not least, JP was a male nympho, unable to resist a young body, always looking for sexual gratification, but only loved one. His most endearing quality was his willingness to take care of others. His forgiving of those who hurt him made him quite the man in my eyes. Thank you for a beautiful story, and of course I will continue with the saga, hoping to follow these characters, and become acquainted with more. KUDOS!

I laughted out loud at parts of this chapter, but was very saddened by Jason. Jeff and JP still have a long way to go to make a relationship work. Great chapter!

For some reason, I got very emotional reading this chapter, lots of feelings resolved, admittance of his love for Jeff, and reassuring his father that he was not at fault for his sexuality. I am really curious about 1968 now tho. Trying not to let myself be filled with dread. Enjoying your writing so much

First of all, I can't believe u did not get more reviews on this story. Although it portrayed you main character as pretty much a male whore, it was totally believable. Young gay mean and women are so vulnerable, and scared, and totally naive. Derek had a hard time, hard life, and a hard job of making a place for himself in this judgmental world. I loved Paul and Bruce's characters, but for some reason I expected David's death. His character was so struggling thoughout his time in the storyline. So faltering with his life. All in all, I loved the story, I read it in two days, enjoying the ins and outs of Derek's character. He was so believable, and his story was very believable. Hate crimes happen all the time, and sadly, left unresolver. Thank u for your time and talent here.

This story gave me chills, feeling as if I was re-living my childhood. The description of your grandparents house sounded just like the home I spent the first 8 years of my childhood in. Even had the oaks with the limbs hanging so low that you can just step upon them to start climbing. The imagery in this made me so homesick. Cruelty is so hard on a child not yet old enough to harden his heart and mind to the hurt. This is such a wonderful story, and so simply and beautifully written. You are much too humble about your writing.

I was a little puzzled over the refusal of Brian's mom to have coffee also. That should be interesting, unless she sensed something I haven't yet. They boys are so in character of a couple of older teens trying to make their way. Really loving this story.

Very explanatory chapter. So glad Brian was so persistent with Andrew. Also, it made Andrew re-think about Brian's friends, and maybe not be such a loner.

Well, what he is lacking is social skills, he makes up for in being an ass to everyone. Can't wait to find out what is causing his actions. Another good chapter
