I’m hoping that Shan yells out, “THEY’RE KILLING MY PAPA IN THE HALLWAY!!!”
-
I HATE YOU SO MUCH RIGHT NOW. Just kidding. Sorta. LOL
-
IT JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER.

(Jihan) “All I want to know is why and who is your accomplice. You’ve placed your family in danger, Ferino.” “My family has been in danger before,” Ferino said, his tone dismissive. “They survived.” Bitch, WHAT?! I woulda turned into the biggest snitch that ever snitched if I was his wife. What an asshole. And what did Ferino do with all the money he embezzled? This was such an action-packed chapter! Definitely one of the story’s best. It’s all coming to a head now — both Kastan and Jihan are racing to the palace with prisoners in tow. Excited to see how it plays out.

These are some damn good questions. I think Wren needs to expand his definition of power. Loren fights like a ninja and has just about everyone at least checking him out, if not desiring him outright. I wonder if he’s a kind of Siren … That would explain why Talon keeps staring at her. Maybe she feels familiar. But the unease he felt when first meeting Loren can’t be overlooked.

Mike got his best friend back!! What a nice touch. Shame on you, Grumpy Bear! You tell us what the bears wore for the parade, but not the She-Wolves?
-
Why do I have the feeling that’s not exactly true, lol? I hope Gunnar thanked Axel during the visit. If it wasn’t for him, Gunnar may never have found Mike. I assume that’s why Axel was told about Atikokan. Since this is a series, I suspect we haven’t seen the last of Axel and his hardy band of wereboars. Not gonna lie — I’m hoping for a love connection between Alpha Apollo and Suzie. 😉 You’ve laid the foundation for a timely, engaging and refreshingly original series! I wish you luck with it.

I was amused by Kalian freezing up while everything went to shit. I would’ve been the same way — gaping at all the horror while others saved my ass, lol. “‘That one,’ Its head turned to Talon, ‘Dug his fingers into my soul and ripped his power out of my very being. He called to it and it deserted me. The Magik knew he was doomed to suffer. A life of pain and despair.’” Yikes. I immediately thought of Angel from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” and how he turned uber-evil upon experiencing a single moment of perfect happiness. I hope Talon isn’t punished somehow for being happy and in love. Wren smells faintly of blood? Makes sense. I guess since Eon was a soldier, he’s used to the scent.

Becoming One with the Bear
Geemeedee commented on Grumpy Bear's story chapter in Becoming One with the Bear
I actually get it. They’ve been hunkered down for months, and since nothing has happened, they think it’s safe. I would just fault Thomas for not being on guard and aware of his surroundings. -
Becoming One with the Bear

Mike sounds like a beautiful man and and beyoootiful bear! I didn’t know there are blond bears; gonna have to Google. Two questions: how long has it been since the lycan council meeting, and how did the wolf know to hang out at that particular general store? -
My first thought? Just like the council can have a mole in a pack, the insurrectionists could have a mole on the council. The inside man probably should’ve kept his identity hidden. I smiled at Apollo’s offer for Susie. He’s a smart guy to embrace her intellect. I’m with him, tho, as he raises doubts about the Supreme Alpha giving a hoot about three bears … unless the Lycan Council is willing to look after non-wolf lycans?

Chapter 20: Introductory Interview
Geemeedee commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 20: Introductory Interview
Man, I hope Vincent and Mason aren’t as open about their situation with the other candidates. I was shocked when Mason lost, then the couple admitted Vincent was still in training, then Vincent lost as well. What if Ashford and Bartlett (Tic Tac — I love it!) were bad guys, or land greedy? Mace and Vincent gave away their weaknesses!! They were hella trusting of these strangers. It’s great to see the story updating again. It’ll be interesting to see where you take this topic of the Seven. -
A Growing Cub Needs to Eat
Geemeedee commented on Grumpy Bear's story chapter in A Growing Cub Needs to Eat
Well, that escalated quickly. 😶 -
Good lord. I can’t even imagine how much food Gunnar had to buy. Hey, did Gunnar check on the She-Wolves? Send some $$$ to help them start their lives again?

I’ve been meaning to say this for awhile now: when is Amaris gonna get someone? A girl, a boy, a Wren-like nonhuman, somebody! It’s gotta suck being the odd girl out not only because she’s the only female, but she’s the only one without a partner. I bet she’s also worried she’d get left if shit got real. Ready for some strategy talk with the teachers. Surely they know something!
-
I knew something like this would happen, with the She-Wolves using such identifiable transportation. They weren’t hard to find at all. I’m only surprised Gunnar waited as long as he did before calling Tim. I’m also (happily) surprised Joshua wasn’t killed! Curious as to why Gunnar didn’t take all the real estate binders. He could just put them back in his jeep and wolves wouldn’t know about the rest of his properties. And I hope he has back-up copies for himself!

I’m still obsessed with how Wren must smell — and taste — like the deathiest death. Unless he has no scent at all? Eon smells like pine and campfire. Wren smells like …? In your comments, you said this was originally more violent. I think it should be! This Wren is a watered down version of what we got in the first story. He is the leader of a group of assassins. He had unspeakable things done to him by his father. He DID unspeakable things to Talon, Amaris and the other assassins … and reveled it. He eats humans and revels in murder. That Wren was damn near soulless. This Wren is too soulful. I hope that makes sense.

Chapter 31: Prologue and Update
Geemeedee commented on Demiurge's story chapter in Chapter 31: Prologue and Update
I read this entire arc in, like, three days. I was swept away! Thank you so much for posting. -
I can’t get over Eon and Wren! What an inspired pairing. But damn, doesn’t Wren’s breath (and body, for that matter) smell like the deathiest death? 🤢 What I appreciate about the brothers is their lack of conceit, and how they accept these two assassins as they are. Kalian kisses black flesh that’s about to do some serious murdering. Eon shrugs off Wren’s gory breakfast. They realize what their hearts want and don’t try to fight it (well, Eon hasn’t fought very hard so far). The scenes of the Lost Ones laughing and chasing each other, and Hanja letting down his austere shield (among other scenes) add depth and complexity to the characters. So good.

Fantastic chapter! I didn’t think the wolves would stand there the whole 20 minutes. That’s a long-ass time! And I figured seeing male wolves in drag would be enough of a provocation, but Dixie did the deed. I’m happy everyone seems to have escaped, and I look forward to Kane’s revenge. Very entertaining. 😀 Thank you for updating so quickly and regularly!

I can’t help wondering if Talon would’ve been even more on the alert if Kalian had told him what Amaris heard. It bothers me that he has vital information he hasn’t thought to share with the others.

Battle Plans and Reinforcements
Geemeedee commented on Grumpy Bear's story chapter in Battle Plans and Reinforcements
I think 20 minutes will be hella optimistic (I don’t believe they’ll have that long),but let’s see what happens. Mike will be near death, poor thing … -
I truly do not understand what’s going on here. There IS a restraining order, right? And what’s this about paying rent? The two of them are fine staying there by themselves — it’s certainly better than having this abusive, unstable woman there acting like nothing happened. Neither adult is fit to care for these two. I’m all, “can’t they file for emancipation and get financial help from the state?” Trying to solve fictitious problems, lol.
-
I shed a few tears at the end of the chapter. Even 100 years isn’t enough with someone you love so completely. If Jay Platt isn’t Joshua Gardner, I don’t know what to tell ya, lol. I already feel bad for Thomas. He’s going to help save the love of the man HE loves. 😔
