I’m confused. Was Margaret driving the car that hit Lysander, or was it someone else? And why didn’t the duo call Dylan, to let him know his dad was hurt?

In Which Many Things are Revealed in the Backroom
Geemeedee commented on Grumpy Bear's story chapter in In Which Many Things are Revealed in the Backroom
I bet you five bucks he gets the ladies involved. I CAN’T WAIT. He better hurry, tho — you know Nick will be arguing to kill Mike to save the clan any irritation. Poor Mike. He got his hopes up for 3 seconds, only to have them dashed. I have a question: what does Papa mean? Did Nils turn Gunnar? Or is Papa the equivalent of Daddy in BDSM? -
The audacity! Wow, Mike and Kelly’s parents really think they’re dealing with an idiot. Seamus isn’t dumb, he’s just conflict-avoidant. Matt is the secret weapon no one expected — not even Matt, lol. Man, I’m gonna miss this story.

The Woods are Lovely, Dark and Deep
Geemeedee commented on Grumpy Bear's story chapter in The Woods are Lovely, Dark and Deep
Am I the only one wondering how Mike has survived over a year of multiple rapes every day, with no medical attention? Methinks there’s something special about him. -

Of course he does! That’s partially why he did what he did on breeding night. The rest of the reason is that he’s a cruel asshole. -
She-Wolves and Fundamentalists

LOVE the ladies! And if no humans are allowed at the Silver Bullet (also love the myriad of meanings behind the name, including the Stephen King homage), it’s looking like a grim end for Mike. Next chapter, pretty please!! -
I just wanna know: did Brandon’s wolf have fur? I’m gonna assume it did, since Brandon had some stubble on his head. 🤞

While I don’t enjoy reading scenes with Thorin, I like where you went with him in this chapter. It adds a layer of complexity to a character in Aiden and Ethan’s friendship circle. It says a lot about who Thorin is, that he has a true mate and yet is still threatened by others — well, one in particular. Thorin crossed the line from brat to bitter bitch. As alpha mate, he used his position to hurt an innocent packmember. I actually think the alpha pair would make an interesting writing challenge — what if you love your true mate, but don’t always like them? What if an alpha mate is disrupting the pack with their vindictive actions? What does the alpha do in that situation? It feels like this tale is coming to an end. You’ve sent Aiden and Ethan in an intriguing new direction and immersed us in the world of fighting huge fires. As a Northern California dweller, I’m sure I’ll think of Brandon during the inevitable fire season.

Chapter 17: Instant Interest
Geemeedee commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 17: Instant Interest
I really like the concept of a Beta and Delta acting as Alpha. I don’t think I’ve seen that before. Love it! I was surprised that Stuerm is still in the running, after what Cyrus told Kaplan. I fully expected Cyrus to share the info with Vincent and Mason. If Stuerm is worse than Kaplan’s former alpha, they need to know in order to protect themselves. Stuerm is far too close and devious for them to remain in the dark. Why did he keep such important info to himself? -
300? But this isn't Sparta.
Geemeedee commented on garfwiz's story chapter in 300? But this isn't Sparta.
Shifter refugees. What a smart and timely plot point! i have to say, I find it hard to read scenes with Hank and Karla. Hank was essentially a paid plant and Karla was so hateful towards her son. Their complete 180 turnaround seemingly overnight doesn’t ring true. Every time Karla hugs Tala and Jay, or calls Tala her baby boy, I shudder a little. -
Moving out of his apartment. I’m thinking he should sell his furniture and get rid of his storage space. That would be extreme, tho. So I’ll just stick with moving out of the apartment. Maybe he can get Kase and Hilary to return and help? Two chapters doesn’t seem enough time to wrap everything up, but I trust your skillz.

And I’m worried about the people left guarding Rush and Kalou. The two may in danger. Stoked that smart-ass Beckett has someone to put him in his place! Am I the only one wondering what a lion-bear combo would look like? I’ve gotta think that they’d just produce some bears and some lions, not a hybrid. I’m also glad this story continues!

Who's the real boss? Now, who's on first?
Geemeedee commented on garfwiz's story chapter in Who's the real boss? Now, who's on first?
This moves the story along nicely! I have two questions. 1) General Robert E. Lee?! 😳 2) I’m confused about Matthew. Is he human? Hawk made a point to call Jay Tala’s husband instead of mate. That implies Matthew knows nothing about wolf shifters. But then Jay referred to Master Tobias and to clans. So Matthew DOES know about wolf shifters? And then Avery mentioned she has to be careful about what Matthew hears. So he DOESN’T know about shifters after all? -
I read it as the teacher as well. What keeps not getting discussed is that Jason doesn’t want to be a wolf. That’s enough reason to not want to mate. If Devyn’s memory is bad, how will he ever learn sign language? I think that every chapter, lol.

I just laughed, because these comments remind me of what soap opera forums look like. 🙂 We’re hella invested!

Well, that was awful — two people in love and hurting, lashing out when subsumed by their insecurities. Matt was painfully young and uninformed in this chapter. And Seamus could do with some therapy for what he’s been through. It’s good thing they go their separate ways for Spring Break. I look forward to seeing what comes next.

I felt bittersweet when Matt was talking to Kase and Hilary. It takes commitment to keep a friendship going when you aren’t “scheduled” to see one another at work (or high school, as Matt found out. Let’s see what happens with that. Also, I like the way you wrote the conversation with Denise. It seemed true to her character. How many of us have had bosses that are piiiiiiiissed when you say you’re gonna leave? *raises hand* As Denise said, it’s just a job. A very healthy work environment. Man, is Aiden an ad for not having kids or what?! *shudders* Oh, and I was surprised Matt hasn’t been back to his apartment in MONTHS. The hell is he paying rent for? For someone so budget conscious, I’d think they’d at a least still be splitting time between apartments. He’s gonna have to deep clean everything.

I’d say more than one, or she had a support team: ”The rhythmic sound of footfalls retreating barely registered with the nearly unconscious Brandon’s sensitive hearing.” Wow, everyone is lucky to have heroic Brandon there. Hope Ethan can save him and his wolf.

Hey, @garfwiz,The first half of this repeats the last chapter, in case you want to fix. I love this plot point of clans being told different things and paying different amounts. Government is shady across species, lol. The trick will be to lay out the crimes in a clear, untangled manner. Fingers crossed your head doesn’t explode trying to keep it all straight. 😄

I have issues when it comes to dating, but even I wouldn’t play the Jay situation like Loe. It’s juvenile. Either tell the man you are absolutely not interested or give him a chance! He’s being cruel to a good guy. I suppose it will come into play later. Seamus is so patient with Aidan. It’s fun to read. They way he explained that kisses can be shared was lovely. He’s a great character.

Chapter 13: Careless Clash
Geemeedee commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 13: Careless Clash
The addition of Kordell brings up a topic that I rarely see covered in these genre stories: an alpha without a pack. Great idea! It’s interesting that he keeps angling for validation by filing the paperwork instead of just ruling rogue. That says a lot about who he is. -
Ha! I’m detailed oriented. 🙂
-
It was so clear, I thought you were setting it up!! Both are famous, and understand its pleasures and pitfalls. That celebrity also puts them on a more equal playing field (no pun intended). Both are single — no mention of a partner in Loe’s posts and Loren made his disdain clear in the earlier chapter. Both are physically fit and beautiful. Both love to be admired. (You don’t post that much on Insta if you’re shy and private.) Both have $$. Jay would have no problem going to Loe wherever he is, if he wanted. Or he could bring Loe to him with playoff tickets and the chance for more exposure. it seemed natural.

Surely I’m not the only one thinking Jay + Loe? My favorite part was the Seamus and Brad interaction. So sweet.

Girl alpha! Girl alpha! Deirdre Howard - Oakland, California Golden State Clan (Where do you think the Golden State Warriors got their name from? 😉 ) Remy Broussard, Natchez, Louisiana Cane River Clan
