@garfwiz I agree — thanks for the chapter! But I was completely confused by Karla’s conversation with her parents. Why were they so dismissive and angry? Why did Karla’s mom say she was naive, then later that she hadn’t won? What was that all about??

Reading the whole story, now that it’s finished. Wow, three years you worked on this!! A couple things. 1) Is Chase Martinez the same as Geordi Martinez from earlier? I apologize if you already explained this. 2) I thought Chet was kidding when he said what is sex. In an earlier chapter he was more mature in his knowledge: “I guess we’ll have to come up with another language to keep secrets from Chet.” I chuckled at Mike who groaned. “She is afraid you’ll see us having sex and make you want to.” “That’s what all living things do,” Chet said simply. “I’ve seen dogs do it.” “But she is worried you’ll see your Dad and I do it.” “Why?” Chet asked louder and a little demanding. “It doesn’t make sense!” He knew what sex was then.

Will you deal with Lysander being paralyzed? And “Damian’s Wolf” takes place how many years before this story?

Ah, but Zure already has a partner: the God Ha. (Talk about a great spinoff story!) Now SORAYA … I was thinking about her, too! Hopefully Kiyan will stay long enough to fall in love, for he deserves love as much as anyone else. If not Soraya, then some other woman equally decent and capable. His second match will be like his brother’s: marrying for love. I really enjoyed this chapter with all the family in one place. Great job showing all the little moments: Jihan and Rashan negotiating over getting to go with Grandpa and his cousins; Niku + Rael outing themselves as a couple (Kastan is gonna lose one of his generals); Kiyan observing everyone’s love and happiness and wanting some for himself; Kiyan going on a shopping spree at the stalls; Jihan holding his own against the emperor and Kastan breaking away to join them … This is one of the best series on the site, without a doubt. ❤️

Well, damn. If he can bring people back from the dead, he can certainly heal Meep himself! (Unless he was born deaf and mute. I bet Kalian can only return people to the state they were before they were wounded.)

I loved everything about this chapter! I knew that if Anders still lived he would try to take control again. His demise was spectacular. Thank you thank you THANK YOU for this wonderful series! THAT’S THE BEST PART. *claps hands with glee* (tiny voice) It makes him a little crazy, tho.

This one wraps up quickly and nicely, but with plenty of opportunities to explore, if you wanted. I want to read the whole thing again! The sign of a story well-told. Thanks for sharing these characters with us, especially knowing how busy you are. I’ll miss the regular updates. 😔

Where will Meep sleep? With Talon and Kalian, of course! Talon is horribly possessive, but he’s gonna have to learn to share Kalian with a child. We can only hope Talon and Meep grow to love each other as well. Smart plot point having Talon (partially) heal himself without Kalian having to go get him. That leaves us to focus on the *really* interesting stuff.

I’m actually surprised this isn’t the end. I bet one more chapter and/or an epilogue will do it. Kalian has a son and a granddad. I LOVE IT. The series is wonderful. Epic! I wish more people knew about you, @Demiurge, but then we wouldn’t have you to our greedy selves anymore. I get it. Life is calling. Please rest, do what you gotta do, then come back to us! (After you finish this story, that is. Understanding, but greedy, remember?? 🥰 ) Um, and I have a question: Guards said Anders made Mallex suffer AFTER he’d been ripped to pieces. I assume you’re gonna come back to that at some point?

Loved Kalian beating Anders’ ass. But after reading about Talon’s inability to focus, I wonder if Anders is exerting some mind control through the tether. I’m also wondering if Talon and Rah’s grandpa will launch a revenge attack before they leave the country. They took out a lot of his men.

It’s hard to believe it’s been two years! I was there at the beginning, before the pandemic. It was a different world. Thank you for your diligence and creativity in finishing this epic story. As others said before me, I know I’ll read the whole thing again. It’s just that good. And thank you for continuing to contribute to this site. You’re definitely one of the reasons I keep coming back. I look forward to whatever you produce in the future.

I was cuss in’ the author out in my head until I saw there was one more chapter. This one was lovely and cinematic, as usual. Everyone is so freaked thinking this was the end, no one talked about how Zure Niven’s boyfriend IS A EFFIN GOD. 😶

I just reread this for the third time and have two additional comments. 1. That main door is soundproof as hell! People are fighting to the death right outside and no one inside can hear a peep! We need that kind of technology in today’s apartment buildings. 2. Rashan is one brave kid. I would dissolve into a sweat puddle from the stress. He’s a little bad-ass!

I shrieked when I saw a new chapter had posted, lol. One of the best chapters I’ve ever read on this site! It’s wonderful how you pulled it all together and have Jihan doing his best Perry Mason at the end. Speaking of Jihan, the adrenaline! Dude was holding back THREE Ghost Warriors at once! I was thinking Yan and Yija would be better off spending several years at Silver Shore Valley. The palace is toxic. I don’t want the story to end! But all good things do …

Fantastic chapter! I can’t help but think Christopher will puncture his children’s eardrums so they’ll no longer be brought down by sounds, tho. *shudder* And I agree with centex — bad-ass Bill won’t want to give up Sean … But great power can lie in small men. Just look at Ezekiel, lol.

Thank you for squeezing in this chapter! Great fight scene. It’ll be interesting what happens after the temporary truce. Are we ever gonna deal with the fact that Talon and Rah are descended from royalty? Makes me wonder if the anti-Magik campaign isn’t some form of self-hatred. Re: Kal severing the bond. He kept saying he was trying to help, but why WOULDN’T he try to kick the villain out if his head? He was saving himself as well as the team. As for the connection, I thought sex was part of what built it! Not surprised that would help get it back. Touch, remember?
