    Chapter 10

I agree. I was shocked at how quickly Creek decided to move on. I know everyone grieves differently, but Skye has been the center of Creek’s universe since elementary school. In my opinion, to move on that quickly would take already being emotionally checked out of the relationship to begin with. But I see the enjoyment of writing about Creek’s lovely relationship with his infant son vs 2-3 years into grieving and considering dating. Gotta admit, I’m TeamDailan, too. Marvin seems sketchy. Dailan comes across far more grounded. That “little brother” shit has to stop, though — it’s like they’re both trying to convince themselves. And will someone slap some sense into Kate?? It ain’t gonna happen, sis.
  2. To be clear: They left this party so Blanche could meet another dude she’s trying to catch? Did I read that right?

    Safe and Kind

    *sings* Someone’s got a hiiickey …
  4. Luke, Brad, and Alexander have all acknowledged that Lyn is oblivious or has misunderstood them at some point. I hope they’ll set things straight (no pun intended) soon, because the situation is untenable. It’s Brad I’m worried about because he’s become near-violent with Lyn. His touches are now painful and possessive, and he’s admitted he hates Lyn, which I believe is true on some level. I hope he doesn’t force himself on Lyn to prove a point to his friend or to himself. Meanwhile, Luke has the maturity of a high school boy and Alexander is stubbornly waiting for Lyn to figure out … what he wants him to figure out. It’s frustrating to read. When is this wedding, anyway? It feels like they’ve been there for weeks!
  5. From what I see, the only one not understanding is Lyn. I have to wonder if they’d still be friends if Lyn didn’t have a crush on Brad, if Brad didn’t love having his own private acolyte around, and if Alexander didn’t have a crush on Lyn.
  6. Truest thing from Brad so far: “I really hate you,” Brad said before moving his hands away. “You used to be my ride or die, Lyn.”
  7. I have one question, and I’m sorry if someone asked already … Why don’t they ever go to Vince’s place?
  8. I guess Troy has to decide if he wants a relationship or a fuck buddy. What is he, like, 20? That might be our answer.
  9. In stories like this the protagonist always goes with the guy who speaks of nothing but fucking and treats him like shit. I don’t think Troy and Dylan have even had a conversation that wasn’t about sex. I hope this story doesn’t turn out like all the others.

    Chapter 30

I came here hoping for an update and wondering the same thing! 😭😭😭

    Chapter 30

I think the collar sounds beautiful, and the promise that comes with it. I promise to give you all the love you deserve. I promise to not hide our love, but to broadcast it audaciously and with possessive pride. I promise that I will not let an old man’s homophobic demands keep me from fully committing to and basking in our love. I look forward to how you get Kenji (and poor Ai) out of this deadly shitshow.

    Chapter 29

What I find fascinating is that River and Kenji haven’t done a scene since they’ve been together. Something in Kenji builds to a point and then he ties River up and does whatever he needs to feel on an even keel again. It’s like a 24-hour flu, then he feels better. Also, you can’t just leave a criminal enterprise like the Yakuza or the Mafia. Kenji’s options are limited. And now I’m wondering … will Kenji send a team of bodyguards home with River? Word will get around that he has a romantic partner.

    Chapter 27

I don’t know how Kenji expected River to spend his time, but chillin’ at the hotel day in and day out is not realistic. Shopping and sightseeing with Ai gets old. He needs a creative outlet. He needs his work. I don't think Kenji really thought it through. He wanted River with him, which is sweet and wonderful, but he hasn’t altered his life to fit River in. Something has got to give.

    Chapter 23

So, are they recruiting younger members who’ll blow it all up with their fuckery, or is the Business literally dying out? I could Google this, of course, but I want your take on it. I think Kenji wanting and asking River to visit was HUGE for him, and River let the moment pass. We know he goes to Japan later, but I thought this was a turning point in an already important visit. Also, we all know Kenji’s father knows about River, right? You don’t get to be king without having well-placed sources. Great chapter.

    Chapter 21

I hope we’re not nearing the end. I’m interested in how they make room for each other in their lives. Curious if River becomes “kept,” (I know he travels internationally with Kenji on business) or if he stays in the apartment and the shop … and his side gig. Also, curious about how much Kenji will trust River with intimate details about his life and what he does (and the people he’s closest to). And I’m assuming River will get bodyguards? So much content to play with here.
  16. Thanks for updating so frequently! This story is fun. Again, me focusing on the wrong thing: the wolves are vegetarian now?
  17. Everyone is asking the big questions, meanwhile I’m wondering how big this effing bed is. I mean, we’re talking four good-sized dudes. Is there something larger than a California King? As for the big questions, they give me a headache and I’m trying to just surf along until shit becomes clear. Niggling thought that won’t go away, tho: Where is Luis, and was he created with Theodore? Are THEY brothers?
  18. I’ve enjoyed this story very much! I appreciate that it’s more than boy-meets-boy, lots of sex, and that’s it. The setting is refreshing, the relationship growth realistic, and the ending so open, I find it very hard to believe you won’t return.
  19. Please consider an epilogue to let us know what career Joe chooses, if Mhairi decides to date, how Colin’s business turns out, etc.
  20. “We were up at sparrow-fart” made me cackle! Also, being around Americans in Europe often gives me secondhand embarrassment … and I’m American! I agree with @Cane23 about the sentence, “He was the first person that I'd ever really worried about, wanted to take care of.” A sweet and realistic definition of love.
  21. I immediately thought Mark went wherever Beatrice went. And maybe they’re being held captive by Theodore, who needs one more son to make his family complete? BTW, why does no ask why Theodore’s name is always said with such dread?
  22. Mhairi and Colin know, so now you can tell us: what illness did/does Owain have? Is there a plot-related reason you’re keeping us in the dark?
  23. Hooooly shit. I didn’t grasp that at all! (Obviously.) I thought Jeremy suffered an accident in the future. I agree with @centexhairysub— subtle hints along the way that readers can put together at the end a la “Sixth Sense” is the way to go.
  24. This ending works better, in my opinion, because the story is wrapped up nicely. The original ending could’ve worked if you spent a few more chapters playing out Derek’s mental breakdown to where he felt suicide was the only answer. In other words, more character development. Also, the boys were completely missing from the original ending, which didn’t make sense. There are times where such a jarring ending can work, but this story was not one of them.

    Chapter 30

Welcome back, Cia! I’m so glad you’re on the road to recovery. Take care and happy holidays!
