  1. We had fun writing it, too - especially the nestlings. @aditus gets most of the credit for that scene. I just sat and laughed as I made a few edits.
  2. Shhh, don't spoil the surprise.
  3. I'm over your praise, which means more than you can possibly know. I almost gave up writing more chapters after getting some well-intentioned (and probably correct) but rather harsh criticism of the story. Comments like yours soothe my wounded author-ego and gets my muse in a good mood. Thanks Mr. Archibald is a fun character to write, he's a little grumpy and taciturn, but with a heart of gold. No one gets to say a bad word about Patrick in his presence. Yea, we need more people like him.
  4. @ColumbusGuy LOL, I really need to see that movie. Hopefully, this dinner will be more relaxed and make everyone happy.
  5. LOL, I love hove everybody think the dinner will be interesting. Let's hope the next chapter lives up to your expectations. Yes, Azrael's explanation helped Diego to see his special missions in a new light, but I think he may need further talks to get more comfortable with the task.
  6. Thanks, Gary, we worked hard on that part. Maybe Azrael needs somebody to care about him? Diego could be that guy.
  7. Yes, it eased his heart and mind a lot. Someone should have told him from the beginning, though.
  8. My grandmother had a wonderful garden, where I played as a kid, so that may be the reason for my fascination.
  9. In fact, the idea of Death's garden partly comes from a story by the Danish fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen: Historien om en Moder (The story of a mother), although there Death has a hothouse, and each plant represents a human and is replanted in Paradise when the human dies. I just liked the idea of Azarael having somewhere beautiful and comforting to relax, and I think Diego may be the first person to be invited there. I'm not sure it would be against proper protocol for Ayil to issue Theo with the task of checking Diego and Azrael out, but he hasn't had time to do so yet. I want to involve Angel and Imp, but, like you say, perhaps they won't be needed?
  10. LOL, I'm glad we're making you speculate, I wonder if the ideas you come up with are as crazy as ours. Feel free to share them, we might get inspired.
  11. Oh, I think Theo is able to take most things in his stride. And he seems to like making his lover cringe a bit - or make up for his mistakes.
  12. Because you probably have great intuition ? Or you know Aditus and me ?
  13. Yep, that's the set up. As for how Sablo and Theo will react to their unexpected guest
  14. I guess you have read the second story in my A.I. trilogy where the white, blue and green angels are introduced. They are neither born nor ascended but simply exist. Possibly they're created, but no knowledge of this exist. Some of them are more experienced and mature, usually due to participating in missions among humans. They develop more of a personality than the vast multitude of common angels. Azrael is a higher angel, like the Principato who instructs the A.I. team angels, or like arch angels. They are purely celestial creatures, and have usually lived for eons. Hope this helps.
  15. Bleh - man flu strikes again. Five minutes on GA, and I'm worn out. Hope you're all well, and see you later.
  16. Somehow, I'm not surprised you liked the idea of not exposing innocent and vulnerable children to religion. It's one of the reasons I'm against infant circumcision.
  17. The new Viking Exhibition of the National Museum of Denmark starts out with a picture of three naked and hot berserkers. But admittedly the artist who came up with the idea is both a Viking enthusiast and gay. (Hope the link works)
  18. You're welcome to comment on this chapter too.
  19. Thanks, you've definitely hit on two of the most important parts of the chapter. Patrick has been isolated for too long and having friends as well as a boyfriend is the perfect antidote to his loneliness.

    Now or Never

Thanks, it's always wonderful when a new reader finds one of my older stories and leaves a comment, such a warm feeling of pleasure. Yeah the story was over too soon, partly due to the pressure of an Anthology deadline. Tar will always be a prince even if he never sets foot in his home country again or carries the title. He will do his very best to let his twin know he's safe and happy.
  21. Thanks. TTYL, I hope, or else tomorrow.
  22. Despite the Cupid’s objections, Diego said goodbye and walked over to the corner where he suspected the Angel of Death sat. The hooded figure stood up as he strode closer, but didn’t speak. He decided the best strategy was to ask directly. “Azrael? Did you come to meet me? Or for some other reason?” A shrug was his only reply. “Can we talk? But perhaps not here, or the bar owner may never forgive me.” Azrael nodded and held out their hand. Telling himself no Marine ever backed do
  23. Now I need to go and upload the next DDD chapter before going back to bed. Not feeling well at all. LOL, that was fast @Valkyrie - did you even check whether we dealt with your edits and great suggestions before you hit the Like button ?
  24. I didn't. I popped in earlier and left a like on the post. It's nice to have someone else noticing too.
  25. Put it away for a few weeks, and then offer a small bowl next to the regular one, perhaps pepped up with a bit of meat or an egg, like you say.
