Does that really matter? What one of us would have listened had parents/family/friends told us "first ex spouse is not right for you". They were right, but would/did we listen or did we need to find out the hard way?

We have a rule in my house. If the kitchen is rocking, don't come knocking. No music? Visitors welcome.

A good cook also knows when NOT to stir! Mom used to chase hubby out of the kitchen after the first time he attempted to vigorously stir fresh ravioli. He broke several open in the pot, cheese everywhere!

Since we are talking food again ( who us? We don't do that!) We had what my hubby has taken to calling smashed cabbages. Instead of spending hours par boiling and rolling stuffed cabbages, I put a nice thick layer of shredded cabbage ( I use pre shredded Cole slaw mix) on the bottom of my crock pot, break up the ground beef I have seasoned as tho I was going to roll em and put on top of the cabbage, then cover with either tomato juice or V-8, add a dash or two of hot sauce and worstershire and cook on hi 6 hrs. Served up it looks like stuffed cabbage that has already been cut to ribbons for eating.

I just want to know who keeps dumping rice crispies into my bed. I roll over and crunch.

Wait till you guys are over 60! The silliest things amuse me. There is a farm near my daughter's house that has emu. They make me think of giant walking feather dusters! Think Plumette from Beauty & The Beast. Wings will regularly take that road even tho it's a bit out of the way, just to make me smile.

Someone please tell me the next book is in the works! I don't need any details, inside info or previews, just that work has begun! I tried a Crampton/Schulter family tree once, many books ago. It started looking more like a wild bramble bush than a tree! Check in the bears ears!!!

Love my cabin socks! 2 layers, faux sheep fleece inside, knit outer with no slip stickies on the sole.

We could do with a tad less rain around here. Just about every river in NJ is over flood stage. Most had just crested and barely started receeding after last Tuesday's 3+ inches and last night we got 2" more, so rivers are heading up again. My place is on a creek, but water would need to rise 40' to get to me.

My horse is afraid of his own facts. He was a rescue, so we started exercising slowly on a lunge line ( a very long leash). First fart he bolted forward, bucked hard, then turned looking for the source of the noise.

If untested strategies and or equipment were never used we would still be throwing rocks over the stream bed at the neighbors. Come to think of it, that may be preferable to the mutual annihilation arsenals we all now live with.

Does anyone else want to strangle a doc at the end of a regular ( nothing is wrong we just want to keep tabs) apointment? "Your A1c is down, great. Let's back off a level on your injectable and see if we can maintain it and reduce the gastrointestinal issues. Your cholesterol is perfect! No changes in your meds. You have lost 15 pounds since last visit. GREAT! YOU SHOULD CONCIDER BARRIATRIC SURGERY! Umm, excuse me? 15 down isn't good enough?? This is the smallest I have been at any time since my kid was born 33 years ago, including during chemotherapy! No surgery. Fix the belly issues first then if I stop losing MAYBE we will talk.

Here is a smile for you. Usually our horse comes to the stall when called like an overgrown puppy. He enjoys work. For the last few weeks Wings has called him in hollering "walkies". Just called his name if she did not intend on working, but wanted a quick brushing and a general health check. Today was supposed to be a groom and check day as Wings had a migraine working. Well dingy would not come till she called "walkies". Then she felt she had to work, as if she didn't she thought he would stop coming in when called. So the horse blackmailed the kid into working! Turned out for the best as the headache subsided between the fresh air, exercise, and the general lift spending time with your horse provides.
