    Chapter 51

Deer grow slightly larger antlers every year. First set are seldom more than buttons, hence the name Button Buck. Yearlings are called spikes, one point on each side. 2 yr Olds are Y-bucks, two points per antlers. After that it depends greatly on the abundance and quality of feed. Since he is starting as a 6 point this year it's hard to predict, but smart money says eating on a human schedule as opposed to browsing in the wild will result in a nice sized rack.
  4. Unfortunately it took me researching the med they put me on and several months of arguments to get the doc to change my BP meds. I also had severe swelling in my feet that they decided to test me for everything under the sun to determine cause. I finally threw the paperwork on the drug in the doctor's face and told her flat out I was not taking that pill again. She prescribed a replacement, basically same drug different name, with no improvement. I stopped completely and within a week there were ankles! Next doc said was only borderline high, no meds unless it goes up and to manage stress and lower sodium.

    Chapter 49

There are all sorts of interesting things there and in Pidgin Forge to blow Cyns mind! Like the sky dive simulator! The mini golf on the side of the mountain is good too. Bet the tram to the top would make his eyes pop!
  6. Took long enough to post! I proofed this week's ago! Well done
  7. Hit the local Italian specialty store for fresh mozzarella. You will never want grocery store again. Hint, cut it with wet kitchen shears instead of a knife.
  8. Ok, I have officially changed my mind about socialized medicine. The US Healthcare system may be broke but at least stuff like this doesn't leave peeps waiting months for help.
  9. Yeah, but it has been a long road. Now the end is in sight.
  10. Finally! Wishing a smooth procedure and speedy recovery.
  11. Central Air has made a big difference in my electric bill. I've found if I leave it on all the time, open windows when outside Temps drop and close em again the minute the air kicks on my bills stay lower. My summer gas bill runs like $10 / month. I could shut the line down but that would require a service call befor use in the fall and you never know when the weather will make a big enough drop for heat. This way hubby can vacuum the venturi tube and we can fire the heat at will and not try and schedule the fall service during that first big rush. I have pretty much that same shift from electric to gas seasonally.
  12. Hot and humid here in Jersey too.
  13. I am thinking you are right.
  14. Oh no you don't! You can NOT leave us hanging for the better part of a year why you edit an older story!!! Ok gang, I am sharpening the pitch forks. Who is making the torches? I am sure you get that this comes from a place of true appreciation for your UNFINISHED story.
  15. My old pastry knife would never have handled the nuts, but that one fell apart ( after almost 40 years of use) and the new one would make short work of pretty much anything I took it to.
  16. Not long after I started working in the office @ the barn, but befor I took over the day to day, boss used to split the board bill as part was taxable, and part not. The governor at the time changed the tax base resulting in taxes applying to the full cost. Naturally that resulted in customers paying more. Do you think I could get it through their heads we did not raise the price? Customer after customer I would go through the bill line by line and explain it was the change in taxes just passed that resulted in them paying more. One particularly disagreeable woman got up in my face demanding I "change it back".
  17. Breathe right strips work well and does not damage my skin. Does leave a little adhesive residue occasionally but it washes off easily. Any of the bigger pharmacies carry em. I keep some in my "just in case" bag in the truck. Helpful when unexpected overnights find me without the c-pap
  18. A sleep study is the most un doctor like appointment possible. Yeah they attach all sorts of monitor wires but other than that its very much like sleeping in a hotel room, execpt you need to call the attendant if you need to hit the head so s/he can unplug you without driving the computer nuts. My C-PAP is the best thing ever happened to my sleep habits!
  19. I did that when I could not tolerate the fall out during chemotherapy. Imagine my shock when I sat up the next morning and my brother was staring back from the mirror. We never thought we looked alike till then!
  20. he isn't dumb, just spatially challenged!
  21. Ok, someone tell me what has happened to common sense? What was left of Ida passed thru my area starting about mid day yesterday and through the overnight hours. One of the big fuss reports on a local feed this am is a lady that wants the night school her sister attends to pay for damage to her car. She was also pissed that 911 systems were overwhelmed and civilians had to help her sister. Please note, power was out, cell systems were affected, and there are just so many cops, fire personnel and EMS to go around. One comment was that this storm was an act of nature and unexpected. ???? Does she live in the same universe as I do? News has been talking about this storm for days. Flood watches and warnings were posted befor the first raindrop fell. Why were classes not cancelled? Or shifted to online? Why did this gal not stay home and presumably safe? The 911 system did not ignore the gals plight. They were stretched to the limit last night. Guess they are right. Common sense is not common!
  22. Diclofenac sodium, aka Surpass and Voltaren are good too
  23. Tis rather soggy here. Some broad named Ida decided to drop in for a visit.
