Chapter 29: Inconsolable Inferno
Kitt commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 29: Inconsolable Inferno
Oh no you don't! You can NOT leave us hanging for the better part of a year why you edit an older story!!! Ok gang, I am sharpening the pitch forks. Who is making the torches? I am sure you get that this comes from a place of true appreciation for your UNFINISHED story.- 47 comments

My old pastry knife would never have handled the nuts, but that one fell apart ( after almost 40 years of use) and the new one would make short work of pretty much anything I took it to.

Not long after I started working in the office @ the barn, but befor I took over the day to day, boss used to split the board bill as part was taxable, and part not. The governor at the time changed the tax base resulting in taxes applying to the full cost. Naturally that resulted in customers paying more. Do you think I could get it through their heads we did not raise the price? Customer after customer I would go through the bill line by line and explain it was the change in taxes just passed that resulted in them paying more. One particularly disagreeable woman got up in my face demanding I "change it back".

Breathe right strips work well and does not damage my skin. Does leave a little adhesive residue occasionally but it washes off easily. Any of the bigger pharmacies carry em. I keep some in my "just in case" bag in the truck. Helpful when unexpected overnights find me without the c-pap

A sleep study is the most un doctor like appointment possible. Yeah they attach all sorts of monitor wires but other than that its very much like sleeping in a hotel room, execpt you need to call the attendant if you need to hit the head so s/he can unplug you without driving the computer nuts. My C-PAP is the best thing ever happened to my sleep habits!

I did that when I could not tolerate the fall out during chemotherapy. Imagine my shock when I sat up the next morning and my brother was staring back from the mirror. We never thought we looked alike till then!

Ain't that the truth!

Ok, someone tell me what has happened to common sense? What was left of Ida passed thru my area starting about mid day yesterday and through the overnight hours. One of the big fuss reports on a local feed this am is a lady that wants the night school her sister attends to pay for damage to her car. She was also pissed that 911 systems were overwhelmed and civilians had to help her sister. Please note, power was out, cell systems were affected, and there are just so many cops, fire personnel and EMS to go around. One comment was that this storm was an act of nature and unexpected. ???? Does she live in the same universe as I do? News has been talking about this storm for days. Flood watches and warnings were posted befor the first raindrop fell. Why were classes not cancelled? Or shifted to online? Why did this gal not stay home and presumably safe? The 911 system did not ignore the gals plight. They were stretched to the limit last night. Guess they are right. Common sense is not common!

Diclofenac sodium, aka Surpass and Voltaren are good too

Tis rather soggy here. Some broad named Ida decided to drop in for a visit.

Since I tore that hamstring, there are days mine say similar things after a day of Point A to Point B. Granted those points are far apart on horse show days but still...

They turned very pale when I said close the account! The limbo game ( bending over backward) began promptly after.

Got the tee shirt. Called the bank to dispute a forged check this am. Was told someone would call me back in 48 hours. Hubby and I will be at the branch right after work. If customer service isn't a whole lot better and more polite we will leave enough money in that account to keep it active till I get my money back, and will close the other account. Wonder how they will react when I withdraw just shy on $75,000.

I can't say I know what you are going thru, bit I do feel for you. Gram was diagnosed with Alzheimers but she developed cancer and passed from that befor her memory was severely affected. Hang in. As Ryan says, there are support groups. You can always vent here, and my pm is always open.

I think I need to take my husband's debit card from him. When we were young and debit cards first came out, he had no experience keeping a check book and would use the card, not enter the charge in the book and forget to tell me. This was befor online banking and after the 5th time the account was overdrawn I took the card away. 30 some years later I can check the balance any time, he has learned to tell me the amounts when he used mine, so I got him his own again a couple years back. Well, he has apparently not learned to check receipts. The hotel we stayed at over the weekend show trip was supposed to be $130 per nite. 2 nights. Total $260. The gal we took should have been the same. Total both rooms $520. This am I check the account. We have been charged the full total. But K was ALSO charged for at least 1 of the rooms! I watched her run her card. So we know the hotel got at least $390, and quite possibly $1040. Yes, I believe we each paid for both rooms for both nights. This on top of being lied to about the pool being open. We specifically asked about the pool at booking, and on arrival were told they closed the pool months ago due to covid, and due to maintenence issues will not be reopening it, they will be ripping it out and replacing it with a fitness center. I certainly do NOT recommend this place!!!

They do have them. I just don't have the contacts.
-
There is a reason small haulers like me don't do long hauls like that.
-
Yes, I do believe she does.
-
She has now started a campaign for me to take her to Ocala Fla in February. I don't have the contacts for that, nor do I want to cultivate them. It would require at least one stop overnight as I will not have a horse on a trailer for 23 hours, and I don't have a network of horse style B&Bs.

Well, my moron took first place today in a field of 20.
-
What did someone say? When I am good I am very good. When I am bad I am better!
-
Yeah, but she's my moron. Once she showed up things went smoothly

I emphasize. I have a customer that does two or three travel shows per year. She pays well, but from her POV it's toss the tack and her suitcase into the rig and go. I have to coordinate stabling, hotels, do pre big trip maintenance ( oil change, etc) prep feed and hay for a 2 night stay, pack feed and water buckets, all things beyond basic grooming like water hoses, bathing stuff etc, my personal effects and those of my husband. By go time I am exhausted and we have not yet left the home barn. So today is travel day. Told her load horse by 10 am. It's now 9, no sign of her or her gear. I call, she just got out of bed, she did not think 10 am was a good time, it's only 1.5 hr drive. Yes, it's 1.5 in her sporty little coup doing 5 to 10 mph over the limit. With a horse in a trailer it's more like 2.5 to 3 including water stops, unless you want to shake the horse off her feet.

What he said!
