LMFAO! Hubby used our tiny electric model for something and for whatever incomprehensible reason decided it should sit in the corner of my dining room. Wings set the serving table up yesterday without moving it, essentially having the saw grip right next to where the bird will sit. I told them both I am NOT a bad cook and a chain saw will not be required for carving!

I just read that post. No wonder I am tired! I declair myself the evening off, just as soon as I finish the dishes.

Ok, so the kid asked could we do the full on tons of family coming dinner, which consists of pasta, tomato sauce (home made), meat balls, sausage, meat rolls, salad, followed by a wash dishes break, then turkey, stuffing, ⁹taters, neep, cranberry relish ( home made) sautéed broccoli, another wash up break and rice kreme and pumpkin pie with coffee, tea, etc. I said ok, but we eat the pasta @ 1, turkey 7 ish ( damn birds never read the recipe), and desert when ever we have finished exploding. Everything is ready for the pasta except the pasta itself. Meats and sauce just need heating thru. Stuffing is made and in a bag, ready to shove up the birds... Neeps boiled into submission, mashed and ready to reheat. Lightly steamed the broccoli so a few min in a Sautee pan and it will be ready. Hubby can do the taters while the bird bakes.. Only thing left is the deserts, and if I make those today I will need to sit up with my shotgun overnight! So early up and baking it is! Just like big family gatherings baking before dawn so the oven is free for the bird, just only 3 instead of a weekends worth for 15 ish guests.

No single veggie should take an hour to peel and chop to cook able size. Now to boil this neep into submission...

Try going into a green grocer run by an Asian family and asking for neeps. Only people I ever met that knew what I was asking for were Scandinavians and Tim!

I was thinking about one too, but cant get it till after Christmas, unless hubby takes the hints. We have a rule in our family. No gifts to ourselves from November 1 till Christmas, and for 30 days before a birthday. My dad was famous for coming home a day or two before with whatever someone bought him!

Sleep would be good too! Three 15 hour days = sleep way past usual up time this morning. Now I am playing catch up cause I didn't start my morning chores till after 7 this morning.

Good may be a relative term. You guys know I run a niche business moving horses. This weekend was very busy. 11 horses for 5 different customers in 3 days. I will be crashing early tonight!

I managed to convince the service department that waiting till Monday after Thanksgiving to fix my brakes was not acceptable and got an apointment for tomorrow am.

Lol yes the SO is the one from the gaslight incident, but I could not invite her and the newbie without the ass. Haven't worked out the pepper thing yet. Maybe I will be lucky and he will try pulling the "we are going to my sisters and that's final" shit like he did Thanksgiving morning last year. Wings tells me if he does she, Newbie and the dog will still be to my place.

Just got confirmation my daughter, her long time SO and the new 3rd to their relationship will all be here for Thanksgiving. Let the cooking commence! So far I like this new guy. Treats her way better than the SO ever did. Not sure a third would have ever worked for me, but if it makes her happy go for it!

Still the fussing in the kitchen followed by crashing to watch the game with who ever could be here. This year my kid and her SO have added a third to the relationship, so it's the first official addition to the family in ages. Now if I can just get a definitive yes we will be there so I can start planning how much to cook!

Just because Cyn's bodyguards are out of sight doesn't mean he is without protection. There are going to be wolves, presumably pack members, in the leaders group that would be aware of the situation. There will be race officials along the route. Regular race security will be around. None of these people would sit back and tolerate an attack on a participant. It will be interesting to watch. A direct attack would be suicide. My bet? The brat hangs back and follows Cyn looking for an opening.

I know someone has told me no more ranting, and if I get tossed because of it so be it, but if I don't let off steam I may pop a cork. If you don't feel like reading, by all means skip on! A little background. My mother in law hated me and did everything she could to disrupt my life. She is gone now, so things have improved greatly, but one of the things that came from that is i no longer tolerate people giving me shit I don't deserve. No more "keeping the peace". You treat me with no respect you get told to shove it and that is that. So, Mid week my son in law ( well, no marriage, just together forever) wrecks his car. It's the only wheels in the family, so Mom's Taxi service kicks back into gear. This morning I got up at 4 am to pick him up and get him to work by 5. Plan was for me to drop him and be home again before hubby leaves for work, saying goodbye and me going back to sleep for a couple hours. Then when I picked jr up after his shift I would drop him and pick my girl up to hit the barn and get chores done, hang with the horse a bit then lunch. I sit in their driveway from 4:15 to 4:45 texting and calling every 10 min and getting no response. Ten minutes of I call her number. She wakes him up, with 10 min to get dressed and my getting him to work. At least it's only 10 miles down the road. Sit in the parking lot at the jobsite as his boss (who has the keys to the building) is late. He finally shows up 5:45. I go home, more sleep is not in the cards, I am now thoroughly awake. I decide to prep the roast for dinner and let it marinate in the fridge till evening. You guessed it, he gets done early and where am I ? I was supposed to pick him up after work. (Not for another 30 minutes, and that was assuming he was done his quota by quitting time, he did start 45 minutes late) Get to their house, she isn't feeling well and cancels. No biggie. I tell him to send her out so we can plan next week and I can pay her for the work she did this week, so she has cash for the Renaissance Festival this Sunday. Out they come together, and he starts spouting in a nasty tone how I blew her big secret, SHE hadn't told him she was going to the Ren Fen, SHE just said she had plans with friends, I had blown her big secret, SHE knew he would have wanted to go, etc etc etc Fine. I put the truck in gear, say so sorry I caused a fight in a somewhat nasty tone myself and drive away in tears. He is hollering at me that I am being stupid and come back here right now. Then he sends a text saying my reaction was uncalled for. Yes, knowing I am driving and already upset. He tries 5 or more times to call me. Of course, I am driving so I don't answer. When I get to my driveway I read all the texts and voice mails then send a text to my daughter saying basically 1) If something is a secret either dont tell me or tell me its secret 2) I got up at 4 am to get him to work, and my repayment is to catch crap that I tattled on you? 3) My behavior in leaving was uncalled for? (his exact words in the text) Uncalled for is giving me crap in the driveway because she didn't tell him about the trip plans 4)If they want to live separate lives under one roof that is their business, leave me out of it! 5) I hope he enjoys riding his bike to work the 10 miles in time to be there for 5 am. I will not be getting up at 4 am to drive him in again. The response I got was from him. He was just teasing, I am over reacting. Well maybe I am. I am short on sleep ( got up 3 hours early to drive him in) I am very tired of his dismissive attitude, which stems back thru the 3 years he lived in my house rent free before Wings inherited a house from her grandmother. I was not supposed to have any ground rules that applied to them, they were adults. In the 2 years since they moved out I have never once been invited into their home, and the only times I have been inside were because I needed to use the powder room before leaving when picking her up or dropping her off. He made it quite clear I was not welcome in "their" home (She owns it outright) and I am only welcome as an influence on their lives when it benefits them. Let me ask for something its too much to ask. Ok rant over. I now return you to the regular Friday routine.
