Hehe, thanks, Wayne. And thanks for beta-reading for me, I really appreciate that.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I haven't written much horror. Closest I've come before is a tragic love story featuring a ghost, and some Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan fiction. Glad I could contribute to a good morning.

Thank you. Yeah, definitely wanted to skip the racism... For me, he's a dead guy with bad opinions who contributed greatly to a genre. It's not even that I enjoy his writing, it's just the horror concepts he created that captivate me.
  4. Ugh, that's just horrifying... I hate this world sometimes.

Thank you, Chris! I'm glad you enjoyed it even if it's not your genre.
  6. The waves lapped lazily at the stony beach, nary a sign that a storm had rolled past the night before and torn my boat from its mooring. Above, seagulls soared, their screeches carried on the softly blowing wind. The old man, a grizzled character with wild, grey hair and beard and a scar across his cheek, sighed and shook his head. ‘Sorry, lad, but yer boat’s gone. Could be anywhere. Like as anything been smashed upon some cliffs. Waters hereabouts are treacherous.’ I looked out over the ste
  7. After a few days’ stay on a remote and bleak island in the sea, a writer finds that the boat he arrived in has been torn from its mooring by a storm. None of the locals will take him to the mainland, afraid to brave the waters after the storm, and as he struggles to make his way home, it seems more and more as if something doesn’t want him to leave.
  8. Maybe some day. We'll see. Thank you for your kind words!
  9. Thank you. I'm very happy you enjoyed it and that was your takeaway from it.

Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I hope you’ll like this one too.
  11. Wow, only eight? That's... sad.
  12. Back to normal here too. Guessing a glitch in a minor forum software update or something?
  13. Backseat gamers can be extremely useful at times.
  14. That's just in the help forum, so you can vote best answer up or down.
  15. The bit that shows username and avatar and stuff looks... odd. Like there's not enough space for it, kinda? Pretty sure it didn't look like this a couple days ago... Is it intentional? Screenshot: I'm using Safari on a MacBook Pro running macOS Catalina. EDIT: I also saw somewhere the 'popular post' tag in the upper right corner of a post with more than six reacts, was overlapping text, but now I can't find it again for a screengrab...
  16. I've tried and tried to get comfortable with consoles and their controllers... We have a PS4 and an XBox One. But I'm a creature of habit and I've been a keyboard and mouse gamer for, like, 25 years. lol
  17. I have no idea what Stellaris is like on mobile platforms, but it sounds nothing at all like the PC version aka real thing... lol
  18. Stellaris is also amazing. I'm trying to stay away from turn-based strategy as much as possible due to how addictive I find it, so I haven't played it in a while. There's been an expansion since the last time I played, though, and I'd quite like to try it out...
  19. Oh, Civ VI, bane of my existence... I always come down with acute justonemoreturnitis. I tried playing Total War Shogun 2, because I love the history aspect, but I got a little bored with, well, the war part. I like that there are different ways to win in Civ. Just conquest and battle after battle gets a bit same-y.
  20. I am so excited for this game! Took my birthday money to GOG and pre-ordered. Gotta love that it's DRM-free too.
  21. Sad, beautiful, and powerful. Thank you.

Thank you so much! I'm so, so glad you liked it. Yeah, I've always liked character driven stories. Like, not necessarily just character driven, but I like stories where interpersonal relationships and the dynamics between the characters have a significant impact on the plot. Where shit goes wrong because the characters fuck up and where the antagonists are, to an extent, the protagonists themselves, or some aspect of them. If that makes sense.

Oh wow. 'Dysfucktional.' I have to remember that one. lol! Thank you. I always enjoy reading your comments. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
  24. This was a fun question to answer. Loved seeing everyone else's answers too. Thank you to whomever came up with it!
  25. Possibly my absolute favourite Rowan Atkinson bit... Outside of Blackadder.
