I know exactly how Jay feels. I hate clothes shopping and given his history the mortification at the cost. No wonder he's so uncomfortable. I like Dani and Sue but at this point id be a mess. Great scene that really Enforces his situation and discomfort. Im rooting for him!

I love the way this is unfolding. It's so real and the discomfort and awkwardness are downplayed to great effect. Jay's politeness and Sue's earnestness are bright lights that expose their own stifled fears and trepidation. Great job!

I love it Gary! Three straight women advised Roy to face his reality, including Dorothy Parker. Hahaha! I think these changes to our view of the world and nature of love are rather difficult and jolting. Epiphanies are rare. I think he's getting it. Chad is facing the same kind of issues. They are stumbling in the dark, stubbing their toes, and hopefully learning their way to the light switch. Thanks so much for such a insightful review. I love it!

Person of Letters Chad looked down at the crumpled letter. He'd read the stupid thing ten times at least and still didn't really know what it meant. It seemed genuine and heartfelt, but the harsh stings of the tone of the writer’s prior spoken words had tainted its reading. Such an apology seemed suspect given the nature of their tenuous relationship and strained past. He started reading it again trying to extract the sentiment from between the lines. Interesting chapter. We now know Corbin doesn't like gay guys. He only wants the 'straight' ones. Mike gets closer, Corbin abandons him. Pete push/ pulls him away, Corbin runs after him. Garth offers his affection, Corbs shuts him down. Absolutely fascinating! I met a few Corbin's while bar tending at gay bars. It's so sad. I feel bad for him and even more for the Cadet who is so damned genuine. Great job and thank you for sharing this story. This chapter rocks!

I believe Si lived on until he couldnt take it and a little part of me believes the clipper and its powers finally gave him a release. When he saw those two as happy as they should of been, he could go home. At least the romantic in me says that. Thanks Tim! It was my first historical fiction attempt.

Graeme, I love the ribbing they are giving Tony and Jim. That's what friends do, even if the subject of their jests make them a little uncomfortable. It means they accept the person even if it isn't their cup of tea. Neil seems less confused actually. His interactions have given him some points of reference and confidence. Todd is turning into quite the counselor for the poor lad. I want to give him a high five for effort. Thanks so much for sharing this Graeme! I love these guys and the situations you're creating. I believe events like you've described here happen every day. I am pleased you decided to portray it. Too often we tend to highlight the negative events and selfishness humans can display. There are millions of people who do the right thing and as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't detract from the dilemma. In fact, in your vignette it shines the light on how helping others is best when done on a person by person basis. In case you didn't get that from my comments, I LOVE the sketch. I want more!!!!
