Thanks Addy! Your help was key. It lead me to alter some of the verbiage and add details. I will probably continue doing a period piece now and again. I'm glad they're working to convey a sense of that era.

Thanks so much Wayne! I had first wrote that Del found out Chaz had died but hated that ending. I wanted to end this love story on a hopeful note so changed it. I like this version much better. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I appreciate the kind review. I did quite a bit of research to add details like the American Dirt Car Race which did happen that year and drew a record crowd. I believe most gays did hide their love and lived a closeted life at that time regretting what they missed. I'm so glad you liked it. Thanks Yettie!

I love these characters. Moshe's perspective was a great way to show us more about Miah's reactions. His voice is very strong and so different than Miah's. I can't wait to see how it ends. Everything feels so calm and domestic at this point. My spidey senses tells me it's going to get a lot bumpier! Great job! Thanks.

I can't believe you dedicated it to me! You are too sweet. *smooch* Now, on to my thoughts. I knew from the minute I heard that song after reading your songbook series, this was your opus to compose. I got chills as I read it. You chose a place I know well, Florida. You created characters who felt so real, I swear I'd met Jonas before. Those waves and love washed the fears away, at least in part. The tears of the rain were comforted into submission by a lovely, dedicated Seth. This story is so powerful, hopeful, and as gritty as the beach sand. Thank you Sasha. I adore it!

Delbert Peterson was really excited to go to the 1936 Minnesota State Fair for the whole time, the first week without his parents. It would be his last time showing as a 4-H member staying in the dorms and this would give him a chance to explore. He was especially interested by the carnies who operated the rides. Yeah, work gets in the way sometimes! Justin is a fun character. I like Roy's mom too. Things are going to start going better for Chad. Coming out as a teen is horrible but it doesn't get much easier later in life. Btw, I am working on the next chapter today. It doesn't feel right to leave Chad's night out in limbo. We shall see! Hahaha! Thanks Jim! Yeah, Justin is a teenager going on thirty. I have a couple of people in my life that have influenced his character's development. Okay. So, Dave's mess seems to be quite deep seated since he actually quit the team only to have Peter convince him to stay. I like that exchange. It was as hopeful and yet unresolved as the rest of the chapter. Good mood setter! Liam fascinates me. While Neil idealizes his crush on Jim, Liam has Neil stuck in his brain. I believe there could be some fire going on there. Clarissa cracks me up. She is pretty single- minded about getting her hooks into Neil. I thought the interaction between Deon and his father went well. He's beginning to see Marcus as more than his father's shiny new toy. Great balance between the tensions and a new understanding for Deon about Sam. As always, can't wait to experience what you have for us next Graeme. Thank you for sharing with us!

Strangely enough, I was challenged on Facebook to compile a list of books that had affected me the most. I kept it only fiction and while the original list had ten books, here's my list for the desert island. The Complete Works of Edgar Allan Poe The Hobbit The Foundation (series) by Isaac Asimov Dolores Claiborne by Stephen King The Miss Marple books by Agatha Christie i just looked at which books are the most tattered in my office!
