  1. Thanks Lisa! I'm glad you liked it. Justin is special. I think of all the kids who see the parents they love struggle with all kinds of things and want to help. I'm glad you like my humor. There will but lots of irreverant campiness coming up!
  2. Thanks Lisa! I did this prompt and LadyDe asked if Roy would find someone good for him. Soooo, since I like to fulfill wishes when I can, I imagined a character who might help the poor guy out. I hope people like the fun they're gonna get themselves into.
  3. Signs Chad looked up at the cracks in the ceiling and thought the shape of the stain right above him looked an awful lot like Greenland. The late evening sun was just peeking through the worn, lime green curtains he’d tried to close but couldn’t. He supposed they had shrunk from years of washing. There was still the faint smell of stale smoke that wafted out of the mattress he was laying on whenever he moved. His few things were put into the rickety pasteboard stand-alone wardrobe and scarr
  4. Chad was outed, his life in shambles. His son, Justin, was his only lifeline to happiness. Roy had enough. His attempts to find love and happiness had failed. He decided to simply live without trying to find a companion in life. Together, they begin to learn what it really means to be gay.
  5. Thanks so much Gary!! Yeah, for Ran and me it was like that. I kept telling myself we'd go slow. Not so much. Hahaaha!!!
  6. How terribly sad. Condolences to his loved ones. He will be sorely missed here.
  7. Thanks Gary! I too love this story. It was my first completed novel length work. I hope to write the sequel some day soon.
  8. Thanks so much Gary! Im glad you enjoyed it. I read a great deal of history especially primary sources and i wanted to portray that love finds a way even in the past. I appreciate the review!
  9. I think writing such a teaser with the frustration mounting must be so hard. Our tendencies as writers are to build tension but release it before it fully takes shape. I want so badly to make characters forgive but sometimes it's best to let it stew like youre doing here. Fantastic job! Im hooked. Thanks for sharing Sasha!
  10. Thanks Huk! I appreciate the kind words. You make beta reading fun. I love watching your growth as a writer. You deserve the recognition. Keep it up.
  11. Always an interesting insight into some of our awesome authors. Three of my faves this time and more coming up next time. Thanks Dark!
  12. It's a great story. Read it today. Filled with beautiful metaphors and imagery! Great job and thanks for sharing with us Renee!
  13. Fascinating story that I thoroughly enjoyed. I have questions I will save for the discussion. I am so curious as to your thinking about Lincoln. Another great reason to belong here. Interesting stories that entertain and make us think.
  14. Happy, happy Birthday Mike! Do something special!
  15. Happy Anniversary!! Hope you had a special weekend of fun.

    Chapter 9

What a wonderful story! I've been enjoying it so much. Such riveting and immediate suspense salted with a serious love interest. The impact is powerful with Toshi's emotions dragging him into Jason's life. I can't wait for this ending. I may be sad, but you dragged me into it. Thank you for a lovely tale. This is why I love this site. Stories that mean something to the reader and writer. Thank you.
  17. Wait until I start posting Barbed Wire Heart, The Art of Being Gay, and my prompt. Better get writing Signatures! [cue maniacal laughter] Whahahaha!
  18. Thanks LBO! I thought that was kinda silly and fun, the GSA line. Glad you liked it!
  19. Haha! Thanks Irritable1! I hope it was enjoyable as well.
  20. Thanks Ron! Justin does have a good relationship with his dad. Thats an important support because Chad is going to need it. This story will continue on. Cole's magic eightball shows he's going on a trip soon. It will be life changing for Chad. Im glad you enjoyed it!
  21. Thanks Valkyrie! The spider prompt will be coming soon. This story was tickling my brain and the conversation while fixing Justin's truck was the perfect forum for it. I'm glad you enjoyed the vignette.
  22. Prompt 344 – The Truck “Why didn’t you just tell me that?” Justin was silent for a minute. “I didn’t want to bother you. It’s been a rough couple of weeks.” “Now I’ve got to replace the whole damn thing,” Chad groused. “If you’d told me the light was on, I’d have fixed this one little thing but now we’ve got to replace the battery too.” The seventeen year old didn’t respond. His world had been upended and his father’s foul mood wasn’t making it much better. “Hand me that wrench, the on
  23. Good to hear it. Can't wait for more exciting adventures and your presence of course.
  24. Thanks Lisa! I remember your kind words and gentle nudges from the very beginning of my posting of Porcupines so fondly. It kept me going in so many ways. I try to do the same with new GA authors when I can to pay your example forward. Working with you is a joy. Aditus and I are lucky to have your help with Gaia-Town. We're having a blast with it. You teach me so much about my own writing quirks and issues. Advent is a special story, it touches home to me. We all need those little helps in life. We all sometimes need a Cayden, as someone wrote. Cole
  25. It was great fun and I've learned so much about myself. Reflection like this is priceless. I highly recommend it. Thanks to all. Btw, I will still answer questions if you think of one later!
