  1. I love this mystery/love story. Well worth it for this story alone but you get so much more!
  2. Happy Birthday Mann! I almost missed it. Hope you're having a wonderful day.
  3. I fear I will be AWOL here until September, though I have been furiously working on the Scars antho and The Barbed Wire Heart. *typing like a maniac*
  4. It is a strange story, but it's my experimental stuff. You never know! I love the slightly supernatural. That's what I'm playing around with. Lol! No, you can't win them all!
  5. Thanks Jaro! It was the reason i started 1550 Loring.
  6. Thanks so much Jaro for the kind words!!! I'm glad you like the ending. It is a new beginning and trust me no one is calling little Andy 'Peanut.' I wouldn't do that to myself. Hahaha!!! I'm glad you enjoyed my story. It was great fun writing and responding to it.
  7. Thank You Jaro for sharing your thoughts and feelings with me on this story. I'm working on the next part but I sorely miss Button's growing up. Seeing it unfold again through your eyes has been a treat.
  8. It was really hard to write but unfortunately, we do have death amongst life. Andy is not forgotten and he affects them all. Thanks Jaro! I appreciate your sentiments.
  9. Hahaha! Craig and Graham have their hands full but they are doing okay. Sarah is a spitfire, that's for sure. Mirabelle is very strong which is what drew Button in initially. Andy and Brent are on the path to true love. It will consume them. Thanks for the comments! You may be mad after the next chapter.
  10. Thanks Jaro! I try to interconnect with my readers as much as possible. I think it makes my writing better. It is a two way street. I'm glad the perspective shift came through. It was my favorite part of the chapter. Don't we all have that epiphany from time to time? That which we adore suddenly becomes thread born in the light of some revelation. You'll see in the next chapter how the Madonna Complex resolves itself. I'm glad this is reading realistically. I like it to feel that way. I thank you for helping me enjoy this story again through your eyes. Feels really good.
  11. Yeah. Teenage years are such a time of discovery and finding out how to deal with those emotional surges. So many changes and decisions become captives of that hormonal soup. I'm so glad you are loving the story. Thanks for the kind words Jaro! Means a lot.
  12. As I mentioned before, I was no Casanova in high school but I remember those who were and how I wanted that, or at least thought I did. You come to realize it isn't just the conquest but the connection that is so special I think. For teenagers battling their concrete understanding of what they want along with seriously surging hormones, it gets misinterpreted. Sorting and decoding expressions of feelings are complex things. I'm glad you are catching my portrayal of this. Thank you so much Bryce!
  13. Those are definitely points I meant to convey. I also wanted the reader to get a sense of the shift in perspective. Button sees Carmel as perfect until compared with Mirabelle. I hope that came through as well. Thanks Bryce! I'm so glad you liked it!
  14. Thanks Bryce! It was important to show the horrible choices the teenage mind can make. I too wasn't much of a rebel as a teen but it remember a couple of doozies I made. Moreover, I heard lots of stories like these from my friends. I felt Button would do this and feel terrible about it. Glad you liked it!

    Four Teens

Thank you so much Jaro! I hoped this would work showing just the little windows that revealed a whole set of characters. It seemed to have worked as your comment notes. That makes me very happy!
  16. Great job Jo Ann! I was cackling over it. Prompts are great imagination and writing exercises. I was suggesting to a new writer it's a great way to test the water and try new things. Hopefully he'll try it out.
  17. Prompts give such latitude they invite fun! Thanks so much for the review. Im glad you enjoyed it.
  18. Thanks Jaro! There is still plenty of teenage issues to explore. That has only just begun. It's gonna get harder. Thanks for the kind words!

Kevin, this story is both smart and incredibly moving. You are portraying the condition with poise, grace and sensitivity. I'm moved to tears and laughing a minute later. Your characters are so strong and interesting. There is enough grit to make it feel real. I'm exhausted after reading the chapters so far but only because it has been a great, vigorous exercise of my emotions. Bravo, I am looking forward to more depth like this.

    Chapter 2

My favorite part of this chapter is the teasing until the kisses final came. Very nice touch! Awesome chapter!

    Chapter 22

Quite the shock. I wasn't sure what to say but here it goes. You just never know. It can happen at any time. Our loved ones can go in a blink. So sad. We'll see how they deal.
  22. A group of us started playing D&D once a month in middle school in the late 70's and on into 1981. It was such fun but the group stopped playing. Then I got really cool and became a member of Speech Club and an editor for the school paper. Lol!
  23. Thanks Jaro! I tried to make it sweet but realistic. It can be as hard a transition for parents as it is for teens. Glad it worked for you.
  24. Well done Mann! Fantastic story, and now we know a little more about you as well. Thank you for sharing this and I'm looking forward to Priest and Pariahs!
