Hope it all settles down and when I start posting the next book life is a bit more sedate.

@Canuk I wanted to give a flavor of who, what, and how without turning it into a regurgitation of the guest list. Brad will have a story arc with him at the center in the next book. With him and the other Squad member, CJ and Owen will be there to support their friends whenever it's needed. CJ already organized a small intervention for the soldier once and if needed, I'm certain he'll intervene again.
-
Thank you! You've really binged on the series, haven't you?
-
@Canuk Jeeps rule! Particularly with a 20-year-old. And some 60-year-olds too. It truly is a 'Jeep thing.' The Irish car bomb was selected for two reasons. One was the person mixing them was a redhead named Sean Brody, it seemed appropriate. Second was the fact it is not politically correct. I try to have the characters walk a fine line on being PC and at times I like them not to follow trends but do as they feel as long as it doesn't directly affect anyone.

@Canuk Thank you! Although a level of commonality and shared beliefs binds the group together, I've tried to make each character an individual. Owen and CJ having different opinions on issues like guns and helmets sounds more realistic to me than stories where couples are clones of each other without ever disagreeing. Each state is different but for example, Florida allows riders to skip the helmet only if they carry sufficient health insurance. In CJ's case his wealth guarantees there won't be a cost to the public if there's an injury. And as far as him becoming a Republican, over my dead body! He won't be a Bernie Sanders liberal but his views are definitely progressive in most areas.

Over The Rainbow • Part I
Carlos Hazday commented on Carlos Hazday's story chapter in Over The Rainbow • Part I
I'll take a wild guess the edit was made after the opening paragraph in the next chapter. I had to take them back because of the family just like you suggested. But I'm taking his parents to the US soon. -
And I thought I had CJ being careful about how much he shared. It was a challenge to write a lot of this once the election was over. I had to change a few things but from the start, I decided to focus on CJ and what he was doing ignoring all the crap going on. It's kinda rough to keep readers interested when they know the outcome.

@Canuk Proof I can be dorky with my comments

I think, based on the way the Supreme Court is being populated, we'll have a strict interpretation of the 2nd Amendment for a long time. You may have noticed I don't shy away from controversial topics. With readers at both ends of the spectrum on most issues, I leave someone upset on a regular basis.

I read and react no matter how old the chapter is. Glad I got it right. As Americanized as Owen is, I like a taste of his Aussie roots at times.

Apologies for highjacking your comments, Graeme. @Timothy M. I might be a bit oversensitive about this issue due to a recent comment by a reader. I had my two MCs end up in bed with two other men after a night dancing in Amsterdam. Even though there was no intercourse between the couples, someone objected and claimed they shouldn't get married since they were cheating. I'm tired of internalized homophobia and attempts to impose personal mores inherited from heterosexual practices on us. Even when I disagree with certain practices, I'm not about to judge. Live and let live as long as nobody's getting hurt.

I vehemently disagree. In fact, I've not even finished reading the chapter but was compelled to address the issue. This sounds like an inane statement by a right-wing Christian conservative instead of a teen. It doesn't ring true coming from Liam. And it's utterly false. From recent personal experience and abundant previous ones, I can tell you sex isn't all about your own pleasure. I enjoyed making him feel good as much as he did giving me pleasure. Vilification of casual sexual acts is but a tool used often by repressed individuals intent on demonizing what they don't understand or are too scared to try.

Happy birthday, big guy. I would post a picture of your present here, but I like being a GA member. Hope it's a great one, only 2 left before everything goes to crap.

That one (Salomon) is two years younger than me and we wear our wrinkles with pride. He's the one moving to NYC. The other one (Salvador) is 13 years younger than I am. He's the one who recently moved from NJ to Chicago.

Thanks, Def. One of those instances where I read the word list and they all fell in place. A little massaging and done. I wish it was always this easy. So now you've seen a picture of me with Sal and Sal, do we look alike? LOL

Thank you for reading my little story and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Weekly Wrap Up (July 08 - July 14th)
Carlos Hazday commented on wildone's blog entry in Gay Authors News
I like DDK's honesty when sharing his opinion. On the other hand, thinking of my previous experiences with Steve doing the weekly recaps, I actually have no complaints. I'll give you a B. -
I thought I replied yesterday but my mind must have drifted. Anyway, glad you enjoyed it. I thought the towel bit would get a few yuks but it seemed realistic to me. Most of us do similar stuff.

@AC Benus Thanks, AC. I like writing the verbose paragraphs full of flowery language but there's satisfaction in conveying an idea in less than 500 words.
-
@JeffreyL Thanks, bud. Doing flash fiction pieces is good training. Too many of us can get wordy and one of my editors keeps reminding that often, less is more. Brevity of language is a talent most of us have to train for.

@Mikiesboy Thanks, tim. The theme of a single father's been running through my mind. Although there's no gay characters or theme to this piece the situation's similar when it's two fathers.
-
Thanks, northie. Considering it took me like 10 minutes to write it, I'm glad it worked.
-
Thanks. Flexing my prompt muscles. It's been so long since I did one atrophy's set in.

Mike blew on his pink fingernail to help dry the polish. As often happened, he marveled at the things he did because of his daughter. Five-year-old Bethany insisted on having her nails painted every week and Mike had become an expert. When she wanted to have her dad paint his own the same color, he steered her to a compromise. Most Monday mornings he showed up at work with a brightly colored pinky nail. When the cell phone on the kitchen table rang, the girl answered it. “Hello?” The girl’s
