Google the guy who inspired the story, he's an interesting dude. CJ's group of friends is varied and Brion adds a new dimension. Whereas Brad lost his legs, artificial ones help him walk. Brion won't have that luxury. As CJ said, the wheelchair's now an integral part of him and will probably be for the rest of his life.

Yes, it has. It did in Key West when CJ and Owen modified what they had foreseen as their path to the White House and shared the information with Ritch. The rest of the summer of 2022 will see their plans slowly being moved forward.

The journey began in Key West. Being the practical individuals they are, CJ and Owen didn't spend their time in the tropics just lounging. They mapped out their immediate future keeping in mind the ultimate prize. Thanks for reading and commenting.

There will be a resolution by the end of the story that brings relative peace. Brett and Cesar, along with CJ and Owen do visit CAMALA in a future story. Can't say more so I don't spoil it.

Suicide's fairly common among military veterans and gay teens. This was my attempt to highlight the former. Taking one's own life's often called selfish, but I think that adjective applies to those making the accusations. They selfishly want someone they care about to stick around but seldom know the real reasons behind the suicide. Having had friends and relatives try, and a couple of them succeed, leaves me sad they were in such pain they saw no way out.

Having just written a dinner party, I went to a wine's bouquet. Booze instead of flowers... that gives you a hint about how my mind works. -
@Mawgrim Your memory's a hell of a lot better than mine. One reason I loved Arthur C. Clarke stories was because he included subtle references to fay characters. I think it was his story, inspired by the American Bicentennial in 1976, that mentioned characters sexual interest on a scale from straight to gay. Obviously, the fact he was in the closet influenced his writing.

My thinking was a bunch of randy, muscular men could find relief in the communal baths. Did she realize how close that is to a bathhouse? One thing that always surprised me was how Anne had women in leadership roles but riders were strictly men. At least in most of her stories. I don't recall if she introduced same sex couples in the originals or if they showed up in the later joint stories with her son.
