Kicking Off the Secret Author Contest 2024: Hidden!
wildone commented on Cia's blog entry in Gay Authors News
Is it just me, or does anyone else find that banner a bit, heck a lot, disturbing I mean, is it a tree knot, is it a tree with an eye in it, is it a tiger in the bushes? So many things that skare me . Telling you all, not going to sleep tonight -
Any and all spelling and grammar mistakes are fully mine and not the fault of my editors. Maybe I should think about getting an editor for once Today, as in this afternoon I went to the Calgary International Beer Fest. Over 200 Craft breweries with over 700 types of beers, spirits, ciders and meads 😮 Oh my. Considered the largest in Canada and one of the top 5 in the world. Somehow I had a few shots of moonshine too! I may or nay not be a bit tipsy If I had the foresight, I could have done the blog up before going, but noooooo, not me So let's see what I can mess up Monday, Cia brought us the CSR Discussion Day: Tuesday was Myr's Deep Dive of the Week. Can you guess the topic: Wednesday was a whole new edition of AAA 3.0 by Aaron: Thursday, Val gave everyone 1 years notice that we would be having a Comicality Writing Event. Jot it in your calendars so you don't forget: Friday was a return to the prompts. As if she didn't do enough around here, she did up a prompt that spun out of her recent vacation to the UK. I hear she was deported after a few weeks : Make sure to check out the Words of the Day. You will see how some people can be so mean to me : knave, prate, nightcap, methinks, delegate, spinster, pother Upcoming Writing Events Secret Author Contest - More information to come. Hey all. This week we continued to focus on the tragic news of @Comicality's passing. I know when I do the wrap up, I'm kind of doing what I hope some of your are doing. catching up on what happened over the week. When I heard we were out of Comsie's articles and also another blog when we heard he was having some health concerns, never did I know this would happen . I enjoy reading all the blogs over the week and liked Comsie's Weekly Writing Articles. They just made sense. If for some reason you haven't read the unfortunate news, please check out the blog and comment if you wish, or leave a comment below if you want. We slowly got back to a schedule on Thursday, but with missing the Wrap Up last week, I'd like to give credit to the blogs that appeared last week up until last Thursday. So back on Monday the 15th, Cia had announced our Signature Feature for the month. Check it out and download the banner to use in your signature: Then on Wednesday, Cia returned again with the Signature Feature Excerpt: Thursday, before the announcement, Val got out the 3rd week of this year's Poetry Anthology: We picked things back up the past Friday, where Val recapped all the entries for the Poetry Anthology. Those that contributed, read and commented, should be thanked : We also had a few Words of the Days to recap too! It might be spring where you are, except our friends in the Southern Hemisphere It was a beautiful day today and will be tomorrow. Only to be followed by snow on Monday and Tuesday Well I said, darn it and I started my spring cleaning today. OMG, I can't believe how much I threw out, recycling where I can. I started with my pantry. I'll admit I was ashamed of myself . I found stuff at the back of the cupboard that had expired in 2022 😮. So that leads me to my controversial question for the week Do you toss product as soon as it expires or do you believe it is all a conspiracy that the expiry dates are only put on so you throw it out and buy more? I'm surprised how evenly divided this is, especially between friends husbands and wives. To the extent that one or the other will do tossing when the other isn't home Now before all hell breaks loose, I want to thank the Avian Academy that choose me to be the next leader of LPW Land. Wonder how long it will last ? Now before I ramble on any more, let's see what the GA News Blog brought us this week. Monday the review team popped in and presented a great review on a new story this month! Tuesday, we got on our cowboy hats and boots 👢for a Western Deep Dive. Yahooooooooo! Then on Thursday, it was week 2 of the 2024 Poetry Anthology - Seasons. Have you checked any out? You'd be surprised how many poems might reach you in a way you did not think they would Since we are taking a break from prompts and also out of Comicality Writing Tips, that is the wrap for the week! We had 4 blogs this week, including the Weekly Wrap Up last Sunday, but we had 7 Words of the Day. I don't really think of coyotes as wolves. Coyotes up in Canada are not only rural, but move into natural areas in urban settings. Although most of these areas are flooded with signs to keep your dog on a leash, every year smaller dogs become dinner for a pack of coyotes. Many have lost their fear of humans, but won't attack them in general. I did see one last summer charge at a 1 or 2 year old just learning to walk and was about 3-5 feet from mom, but it pulled up about 10 feet away probably when it realized what it was charging. You can see them running along the side of roads near these natural areas pacing cars. They do serve a purpose in the city though, other than small dogs, they are great for keeping hare and wild rabbit populations under control. One reason cities won't destroy dens and the coyotes.

It was a close tie in our house growing up with my dad Which was worse, bagpipes or opera ? I think in the end he hated bagpipes more, and he was first generation Canadian with Scottish parents He called them squealing pigs. Don't yell at me

What an amazing story. I came back to read this and remember how striking the symbolism is that Justin proved he was able to change for Lucas. Viv is a master of weaving scene settings to where you don't even need to close your eyes to picture where her characters are and what they are doing. Well done I highly recommend this read! Afterall, it is never too late

It may seem like just a week or two ago that we were reviewing a story, but it has been a month 😮 So why don't you all check out his story that @Timothy M. did a great review for? Crossing the Moon by HinderToyBL aka Rambling Robin & Thirdly Reviewer: Timothy M. Status: Complete Word Count: 136,292 One of the great things about GA is that you can find a story about almost any topic, in a multitude of genres. Some are romantic, others serious, many are funny, or sexy or any other description you can think of. So no matter what mood you're in, you can find something that fits. If you looking for handsome guys who happen to be werewolves, there are plenty of stories to choose from. One of them is Crossing the Moon written by two authors. They must have needed lots of fans, cold water and others remedies to deal with the sizzling hot sex scenes they write in almost every chapter. I certainly enjoy reading those, but I particularly like how the main characters of the story act with kindness and respect towards each other. I also appreciate how they are clever enough to figure out not only their relationships, but also the mystery dumped in their laps by the Gods. If you have read anything else by these authors, you know what to expect: Quirky or perky characters, inventive details which make you laugh, lots of different colors in the characters, one of which you'd probably want to cuddle with by the end of the story. Though I have to say, Crossing the Moon has less of the hilarious moments and observations which often have me all in their other stories. But I can still recommend it as a light-heartedly hot story to cheer you up. Hmmmmm, what to discuss today? Tell you what, let's leave it up to you! Instead of me bringing something up to discuss, what do you want to discuss? In the olden days when people listened to the radio , talk shows would usually have a Friday Free For All. So let's do a Sunday Free For All. Some rules. Nothing political, nothing overly sexual, so keep it PG For your own personal safety, I would not discuss what evil that Valkyrie and Krista have planned for me next . They may include you in their evil, diabolical, sinister plans Now here is what happened this past week at the GA News Blog! Monday, we got introduced to an all new CSR story for April: Tuesday, Myr, known as the twin of Michael Jackson back in the day, did a deep dive into another genre. I think he can still moonwalk Here is his dive on Thriller and Suspense: The big day of the week, and for the month of April, was to see the first release of the many great poems we have for the Poetry Anthology. Why not give them a read and register a like and a comment! Since the Anthologies are a big part of GA, we will visit back to the Prompts in little over a month. On Saturday, and sad to say, this will be the last available Writing Article from Comicality. If you haven't had a chance, why not pop by and leave him a comment on what the articles have meant for you Although our Prompt Team gets a bit of a rest, we don't let the big guy rest. Ho hum First day of spring came and we got snow snow snow 😛 Definitely there are those of you out their that are giggling like skewl gurls on the playground Well I hope your comeuppance comes soon . So was looking for a place that I could find some more gay themed movies than Prime and Nexflix and then came across a free streaming service called Tubi which I believe is available in Canada and the US of A. Their is a lot of movies on there, some not so good quality and some good quality. Some in foreign languages with subtitles, others dubbed into English, others made in English. I sat around last weekend holed up at home watching nothing but movies. The thing was I was literally physically and mentally exhausted after. There seems to be soooo many gay movies out there that don't have happy endings. I mean, watching all the movies, one could say that gay relationships can't end happy . I can think of a couple maybe higher budget ones that do. Love, Simon and Handsome Fella. So that is my question to you, can you tell me a happy ending gay movie this week? Maybe not all of us can stream it, so maybe don't put in a trailer or link as what is seen in the US of A, may not be able to be seen anywhere else. Even if they are ones that I might have to go to my vault and crack out my credit card to watch Okay, now onto the important stuff. What happened this past week on the GA News Blog 🥳 Monday, can you believe it has been a month since our last Signature Feature? Then it was onto Tuesday where we got a Deep Dive on Romance This week of the month always means Wednesday is followed up to Monday with our Signature Feature Excerpt: Thursday, GA was taken over by Valkyrie and her rag tag army of molting penguins, discussing the Poetry Anthology Friday, she was back to introduce the Friday Prompts: Saturday was a whole new Writing Article on Violence I'm curious, even if you haven't followed this week, with this list, off the top of your head how many Words of the Day did you not know? leprechaun, muskellunge, merganser, psoriasis, irate, larder, nectarine Upcoming Writing Events Poetry Anthology - Seasons, will be due April 1st 2024. nectarine - Word of the Day - Sat Mar 23, 2024
wildone commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
I always love nectarines, peaches, not touching with a 10 foot pool -
3 days to spring 🌻 🐦I found out it is the 19th this year instead of the normal 20th due to being a leap year. Makes sense. So what are you planning for the Spring Solstice or if you want to be correct, the Spring Equinox? I was thinking of going outside striping down to some shorts, last year when I said naked, some of you didn't like the idea of that , and frolicking in the fields. Wait, although tomorrow will be a record breaking 18 C (64.4 F), by Monday we go back down to under -10C (14F) and snow No frolicking for me on the 19th. Now here is another question since I was talking about the 19th and 20th. As of today you have exactly 15 days to get your Poetry Anthology in to Val. Make sure to click on the link if you need a reminder how. In other news, I was thinking of revitalizing the once interesting NHL© Hockey Pool. I know my Flames most likely wont be in it, but it still can be fun. So by a show of hands ✋ not fingers 🖕 , who would like to participate. Always nice to have about 10 people. No cost, and if we have enough peoples, I will add a small prize. But, enough of me babbling on, maybe I'm filling space as it was a slower week here at the blog . Well at I guess we only missed Wednesday this week Monday, your Review Team presented through @chris191070. Check it out! Like a geyser that erupts the same time everyday, Myr erupted on Tuesday with a new Deep Dive. I'm no longer allowed to call the big buy by the geyser's name.
