What up, guyz? Don't you like old men that try to talk like they are young? Oh wait, do we have any young people here ? I guess when I think young, I think of like 20 and under, not sure why. Actually I do, I guess I don't consider myself that old. They say you are only as old as you feel. I guess I am older when I get up in the morning and then I'm back to a teenager as the day gets later, watching late night talk shows at night, and then wondering why I feel so old in the morning . Hi Tim, I'm no expert on the stories section, @Cia would be better to help you out. I did check and we all should see below the Chapter Text box: Chapter text ONLY! No images. No links. No advertising. I tried myself to post an image from my gallery in a story of mine in the Chapter Header and Chapter Text areas. Just errored out. If someone knows if I'm wrong, please let me know

I don’t know what y’all talking about 😇 Sorry @Cia

Not sure where you are, but hope you are staying warm (me ) or staying cool! What is cool is @W_L's review that he has done up. Bonds Unbroken by Cia Reviewer: W_L Status: Complete Word Count: 34,110 If you’re looking for an action-packed story with a straightforward plot, engaging characters, and the promise of a larger world featuring “partial”-shifters, then you’re in for a treat from Cia, one of GA’s renowned authors. In this universe, shifters retain the characteristics of their animal forms in a humanoid body, a concept sure to delight fans of animal-human hybrids. Although this story was originally written between 2010 and 2011, it still reads beautifully, offering nuances not often found in this genre. The main character, Velaku—a Falcon-shifter—is the presumptive heir of his people and some of the Carthera (the collective name for shifter species) following the murder of his father by humans and a potential traitor. His lover and soulmate, Natham, is a Lynx-shifter, essentially a cat. Natham’s backstory adds complexity to the plot, and when you learn what happened to him—along with the circumstances surrounding Velaku’s father’s murder—it’s hard not to feel a deep sense of despair. The novelette also hints at corruption and betrayal among both Carthera and human authorities, though these elements remain only briefly explored in this short, 11-chapter, 34,110-word adventure. I highly recommend it as a light read for anyone who enjoys a simple but captivating tale. Cia later expands on several concepts introduced here in longer sequel novels, making this story feel like an appetizer that whets your appetite for the broader universe. It’s a world well worth exploring for fans of Cia and the genre. Interesting day I had today First went to a ringette game on one side of the city. Then off off to a flag football game in the central area of the city. Then to a youngins, U14 hockey game in the south side of the city. Finally a Junior B hockey game outside of the city in a neighbouring city. Two games my team won, two they tied. Now you get to guess which were the ties and the wins . Oh, I did come home after. I was thinking on my drive home that I need to get traveling. I realized that other than the US of A and Canada, I've not gone anywhere. Now I do know some people that have never left their own province, state or country. So I want to know how many different countries have you been to? I imagine we are going to have someone that worked in a diplomatic service and will list like 100 countries, but wouldn't it be cool to sit down with them and get a little bit of information on all of them Since I was born in West Germany, yes I'm that old , I'd like to go visit Germany. Maybe the UK, I guess I have some distant relatives there that my sisters are in contact with from my Dad's side of the family. In Scotland I think. Don't hate me if you are from England, Wales, or Northern Ireland I'll throw haggis at you There is lots of other places I'd like to go to, but I'm more curious about you. So after telling me where you have been, tell me one place only that you want to go. BTW, I know I'm going to H E double hockey sticks, so I don't need to know if I will meet you there. Oh well, at least February is only 28 days this year I find February the most boring month of the year. We are about to head into the -20 to -30 C or -12 to 18 F this upcoming week That might be why I hate it. Have to tell my annual February joke too! If you are a farmer, you cannot look at it No posting it in the chat below either As I mention the weather, someone I know said I chose to live here . When I thought about it, I came to the realization at the age I am, I have chosen to live here . Yes, it is occasionally cold, once every 100 years we get a bad flood and we have summers with hail and the odd tornado, but in general I don't have much to complain about in my neck of the woods. I did try moving up to 3 1/2 hours away from my family, but that was one of the factors to move back. I have visited places that are nice, and unfortunately they have some drawbacks that I probably wouldn't make me want to live there. Hawaii, love it . But the occasional typhoon, volcanos, but most depressing is the cost to live there. Even if I had the money, I don't know if I would live there all the time. So here is the big questions of the week, something that I didn't get around to last week. Where you live now, is it where you want to be living? Or is there things keeping you there that prevents you from leaving? Two more questions, if you would want to live somewhere else, where would that be? No, Val, you cannot move in with me to watch Corner Gas reruns and attend all the events at Spruce Meadows . Lastly, if you are happy where you are, what makes you want to stay there? Now back to what they pay me the big bucks for 💰. Let us get to the Weekly Wrap Up! Monday, Cia I think took the Word of the Day, Equine, and made it into the CSR Discussion Day for an author that may like a horse or two : Tuesday was all Myr's. This week he did a Deep Dive into the Mystery Genre: Thursday, Val popped by to talk about our upcoming Poetry Anthology with the theme of Diversity. Check it out, it was a fun discussion: Friday, Val came back with a couple of fun prompts for Prompt Friday: Words of the Day: piscine, equine, feline, canine, nostalgic, cacophonous, carnivore Upcoming Writing Events 2025 Poetry Anthology - Diversity - Due March 30, 2025 - All the information you need is here. I strayed away and I am ashamed I started reading a few chapters a day last week and I am now caught up Lots that I could comment about but I'm glad, and I know it isn't the 1st, 2nd or 3rd time that I have said that Robbie is better than Nathan. Especially the new Robbie that is looking back at his past and correcting for the future. I got a feeling that with Mr. S coming back into the picture and Don's new apartment, that Jo might be on the scene soon. As I think that Daniel, Matthew and Robbie might come up as witnesses to this program. I'm sure Matthew has enough to have him locked up already.

So that is where my missing package of food from Marks & Spencer UK is Did you have a hand in this?

For @CassieQ and others, when I first saw the anthology theme, I was a bit boxed in on what I thought, as I generally don't like horror unless I'm talking about @Valkyrie waking up in the morning But when you expand out of that box, I found myself realizing if I wrote about a cat, a dog, a horse then they fit in the category of a creature. So great, now I'm only restricted to writing about animals and horror. Then I thought well we all know someone that gives us the heebie jeebies, so a story loosely written about someone like that could fit the category. Furthermore, it could be loosely autobiographical, if you want to make yourself into anything. Space, lots of creatures, no horror. Historical fiction, The Loch Ness Monster. I can go on and on. I guess what I'm saying in the end, you could write about anything from a pet rock to a higher being under this theme. And Cassie, if you want, why not write a story of you slaying a dragon on the slopes of a mountain and we can all know in jubilation that you never did die on the mountain Just my thoughts

Who's on holidays? Me Who has nothing really to do on holidays? Me . What should I do on my 2 weeks off? I should do some reading . Maybe some cleaning . I'm bored already What do you all think I should do? I want to fly down to the states and visit Krista but she has a very, very, very long list on how she will kill me if I ever show up . We were discussing why I think she can get a side by side for the family, and I said how else will she get my body out to the back forty and she said with the recent cold, she'd just get the dogs to drag my body out there 😢 No flying to see Krista. Just as a PSA, in case you have been having some issues on site, we have been having some undesirable acts of failed attempts being tried to penetrate our servers. Rather than let them in and take up residence, @Myr has employed a new security suite to keep us and everything on site safe. Sort of like a giant condom surrounding GA . There are hiccups though, so make sure you read the grey bar at the top and see that we would like you to post with a URL and what you are trying to do in the Help topic. Myr has been superfast in getting things fixed, but even he needs to sleep. Please have patience if he doesn't answer you right away! Now what has happened in the GA News Blog the past week. Monday, Tim, our fearless leader of the Site Review Team went and compiled a list of all the stories reviewed in 2024. Check them out! Tuesday, it was a scary day Myr did a Deep Dive into the Horror Genre. Too bad I'm not that proficient in putting into words what Val sees in the mirror when she first wakes up in the morning I'd clean up this genre : Thursday, our favourite Admin, Val , was by with the rules and regs, or if you want the guidelines for our yearly Anthology: Finally on Friday, our favourite Admin, Val , was back again with a couple of prompts to get you in the mood for a creature feature: If you were thinking I would forget the Words of the Day, I didn't 😜. reliability, outrageous, marble, shrewish, prude, exhausted, lassitude Upcoming Writing Events 2025 Poetry Anthology - Diversity - Due March 30, 2025 - All the information you need is here. I guess I didn't really have that many marbles growing up, to begin with So no big loss if I lost any 😜 When I think of marble, I think of meat and fat mixture. I hate fat on my meat, so I prefer a nice marbled cut I do not like the other, other white meat, aka fat.

There used to be a natural hot spring way up in the high BC Rocky Mountains, that were actually started up I'm told in the early 1900's. People continued to build it up over the years into 1 large pools and 1 smaller one. In the olden days, you would get to it on a horse, then when logging started, a logging road went by it, but you wouldn't want to go up the road unless you had 4X4 or a truck with good clearance. Unfortunately they were on a minor fault line and the line shifted and a landslide and they disappeared. I guess that was about 7-8 years ago and I haven't been back . Heard an older gentleman has camped up there every year and has rebuilt some pools, not as big and deep, and the water temp is not as hot, but still warm. Kudos to him!! It is in a provincial ecological zone so no official development would be allowed. There was a sign there that I always think of when I hear the word prude. It was carved into a log cut in half about 3 ft long, to provide a seat on the edge of one of the smaller, intimate pools: Don't be a prude, go nude!!

First a disclaimer, I'm tired and none of me editors are around to read the wrap up for me I hate to say but the first couple of weeks have been terrible for our US friends and neighbours it seems. With LA burning down and the east and southeast getting blasted by ice and snow, I have to say I hope that all of them are okay I'm sure there is other places too that are having strange and wakey weather too, like Friday we had an actual thunderstorm (rain) and a blizzard Saturday night. Nothing that so many others are living through at the moment. I reached out to a couple of our Classic Authors that live in the Greater Los Angeles area, and happy to hear that @viv and @shadowgod are both safe and not near the fires. I am probably missing out on some other areas of the world, so tell me, is the weather where you are normal or have you been hit by something horrible? Or am I missing an area that I have not heard of? Like is Australia having wildfires which they have been prone to lately in their summers? Rather that be on the sadness, lets move onto the positive this week. We had a good week for the GA News Blog, so let us wrap it up! Monday, Cia kicked off the new year with I think was the monthly CSR feature Although it said Signature Feature in the title. I think she was tired like me and her blog editors weren't around either . But check out his months CSR Feature: Tuesday, we had Myr drop in with a new Genre Deep Dive where he went all Historical on us: Thursday was a call out to all the sites poets! Valkyrie let us know the topic of the 2025 Poetry Anthology: Friday, for fun, Aditus didn't go with the traditional Prompts for the first Prompt Friday of the year: Not 4, not 5, not even 6, but the whole 7 days this past week we had a Word Of the Day. One was even published before I got the Weekly Wrap Up done last Sunday . renewal, prescient, glibness, aggregate, vociferate, alteration, solitude Upcoming Writing Events 2025 Poetry Anthology - Diversity - Due March 30, 2025 - All the information you need is here.
