I'm only halfway through chapter 7 of DD. But I'm ready to bet 5

I don't use the Internet Explorer. So this is out of option for me. And why was the first thing that came to my mind, when I read Dan's comment, Homer Simpson saying exactly what he wrote. Is there a episode, where he says something similar? *unsure*

OK... So this isn't exactly one of those evil cliffhangars. But don't think this dimishes my craving. At the moment TOU is my favorit of your stories. Really good chapter, I'm always waiting for more. DD, for a change, will be nice, too. So accept my humble bow to the great Dom.

I'm not really sure. It was over a year ago, that I discovered the site. But I've narrowed it down to two possibilities. Either there was a link in Dan Kirks "Dawn Of Tears" at Nifty, or I googled for the story. Quite often developing storys are hosted elsewhere and posted a bit faster there, than at Nifty.

There surely are people that have read "Service". Sorry, that I didn't response immediately. Really like this story so far. Although I see kind of an _unholy_ alliance, with Dan and Dom writing together, to get the readers hoplessly addicted. The new setting of the story is also quite interesting. Both chapters have their features, by which someone may be able to tell the author. So far I like the first one, written by Dan, a bit better. Both a pretty twisted, which makes the flair of storys like Vampire Jarred. (Hard to explain, but why else, for example, do I find "The Vampire Chronicles" by Ann Rice fascinating. OK, the newer Books are crap...) But Dan's chapter is a bit more twisted. I can't really explain how he makes it. It's a mix out of the choice of words, how things are explained and sometimes what's written _between_ the lines. That said, I'm always happy to read more. PS: Maybe I'll find the guts to mail Dom a few personal words, too. I'm also pretty fond of his storys.

So you have mindless readers crawling in front of you, submitting to your slightest word? You wish! Ohm... Did I just write that?

Argh! What a cliffhanger! Dam you dom! I think I'm beginning to partly understand the motivation of stalkers. I'm actually mulling the idea of finding out your adress, flying over there, to camp on your front step moaning "Please! More! Need moooooore!" over and over. I guess you get it, that I'm _really_ expectant to read the sequel. Continue your great work and pretty, pretty please, make it quick. I'm really on your hook here. Daniel

Wooohoo! *rofl* This made my morning. :-) PS: I've also minor problems with the site. There are sometimes short outage which make the site unavailable. Normally they only last a few seconds. If I try half a minute later everthing works again. Or at the moment the lookup for the subdomains doesn't work. I only got on Dom Luka's site, cause I acessed it via subfolder in the URL. But don't bother with my tech talk, I hope Myr understands it. ;-)

Thanks for the advice. The Blog is rather new to me. Also I'm not so much into blogs myself. I certainly don't understand the hype about them. But for your wiritngs I'll take a look regularly. Maybe I should also kick myself in the but, sit down and write an whole email, instead of this few words in the forums. Greetings, Daniel

Hehe. Take a step back and look at the whole picture. Also look into the Sneak Peaks. *hint* I guess the story "Vampire Jarred" ist offically over, but that won't mean, that the tale about Jarred is at it's end. Try to be patient (I know myself that it's hard. ) and wait what surprises Dan has for his readers. Greetings, Daniel

Thanks for all the birthday-greetings! Didn't read it until now. Stupid time difference. Daniel

Definitely "Event Horizon". Saw it in cinema. Big screen, the volume on the loud side, it really scared the hell out of me. But it only worked in the theater. Saw it once on TV, didn't impress me at all.

Simply great! Seeing, that a new part is up (at the moment that's either Vampire Jared or Do Over), is like finding beloved, but forgotten, candy. It sweetens my day. -

In my local intranet we use DC++. A filesharing-programm based on "hubs" that one connects to. This noon I was quite surprised that a function, normaly used for update notices, is now used for US election propaganda. At start a message window pops up containing the folloing message: I don't want to comment this much. Only that it's true. I can't access www.georgewbush.com directly. What do you think about this? One one hand about blocking european IPs on this address, on the other hand about using a non related program for such a purpose. Daniel

Sorry to disagree, but in my opinion it's to much information at once. It's kind of overwhelming. The "old" index page is rather simple in design, but states a easy to recognize welcome message and presents links to, and and an overview of, the different parts of the website. Now there's too much at once. While former links of the old index page are in the menu bar (as konwn in the forum), there are to much other menus. Also I don't think all this forum infos (pinned and new topics, votes, latest discussions, recent articles) belong onto an index page. These infos may be important for me and other users, that use the site often, but is it of interest for somebody who visits the site first time and simply wants to read a story? I can live with one more click to the forum, wich presents me these infos in a more organized fashion. Then (again my opinion) the index page is to big. I suppose it was one of my prof. who recomended, that a start page of an internet presence should present an simple an easy to recognize overview of the whole website. In addition it should fit onto one screen page, if possible. Now I'm using a rather high resolution and the index page needs about 3 screens. I need to scrool down whole screens, if I want to view everything. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to smaller the work myr put into the page. He did and does a really impressive job. I simply don't think such a brimful (hope that's the right expression, I mean "

Hm... I suppose it's thought-provoking. But, to be honest, I only thought for a few minutes about it. Here I have to say, that I don't live in the US. Gay kid's are also disowned, or thrown out by their parents. But very few justify this with the kid being an abnormination before god, living in sin, going to hell, or other religious affectations. Such people are either members of a sect or absolute religious hardliners. I have stopped trying to understand such people. I also have problems to empathize myself into this aspect of the stories I read. Sure I feel with the kid, but it's hard for me to imagine such a reaction by the parents. It's remarkable, that most of this stories act in the US. Are there really so much (I call them this on purpose) freaks, that aren't able to think for themselves and dumbly belive in something that an egomanic smart ass preaches? In history, there were enought wars, genocides and malicious agitation supposedly in the name of god. People should really undestand that it's important to think for yourself and not to blindly belive in anything that you hear, or that somebody tells you to belive. My five eurocent on this. I hope I'm not to harsh, or assaulted someones belive in god. That's not my intend. I'm only sick of people masking their own problems, insecureties or other crap with god, or something else. Daniel In addition: The problem ist, that kid's aren't able to do this. They _do_ blindly belive what the parents and other important people tell them. Children are highly manipulable. :-/

Just finished reading this stroy. Thank's for the advise. It's reeeeeaaaaaaly good. One realizes, that the author was partly inspired by Stephen King.

*rofl* Just great! Actually I already saw parts of it one the evening news. But complete it's much funnier.

I didn't vote yet and I'm not sure if i'll vote 'cause I don't live in the US. But I'm not sure if I understand the term "National Sales Tax" right. Tax on everything sold? Is automaticly payed when you buy something, 'cause the tax is already added to the price of what you're buying? If that's what is meant I'm a little bit surprised that the US doesn't have such a tax. In Germany (Right! That's where I live. ) we've got such an tax since I can remember. It's ... *searches for bill from last groceries shoping* (Funny! It's from Wal-Mart. Guess you know this chain. ) 7% on food and 16% on everything else. By what one of my roomates tells, from his vacation in USA, the food is expensive enought as it is. This means fresh and regular food. Burgers and other fastfood ought to be cheap, compared to here. I spend about 60 to 80

For those interested (if there is anybody ), I made a few higher-quality screenshots and put them on my small webspace: screenshot gallery Have fun! Daniel

Stupid game. Kept me awake whole last night! But actually that wasn't so bad, cause I was awake and could let the painters in at 7:30am. I'm going astray here... I have to agree with Myr, it can be rather astonishing what two Sims can do together. I couldn't resist and created my own little "family": They're even political correctly reffered as couple (in law). I was surprised, that this is possible. There are a few more interresting screenshots, but picture size an quality was still set to standard (wich means very low ) and I'm playing with a rather high screen resolution. So there's not much to see, cause everything is really small and rich with artifacts. In all Maxis did a really great job with this game. I have to go now, there's this addictive game just an alt+tab away... Daniel

Hello there! Also it's much "darker" then the other storys I'm liking this story and it's characters. Not unlikely to my feelings for the Vampire Chronicles, by Anne Rice. But there's something that I don't get right. Is there a chapter missing between part 9 and 10? At the end of chapter nine a video-message from paul is put into the DVD-Player. In chapter nine there's something about a raid on draconis's house, also I never read where this info comes from. I suppose that's the matter of the message, but that never has been told. Am I right, or did _I_ miss something? You did a great job with this story, anyway. ;-) Regards, Daniel

Great as ever, even if there wasn't so much action as in other chapters (my opinion ;-)). Gimme more. Need my fix! Regards, Daniel
