If my memory of Anne's books is accurate... When Lessa was searched, what @drpaladin praises what not how it was in the Weyr. Searched candidates weren't given any preparation for the hatching. They just dressed Lessa in white and put her out on the sands for the hatching. It was not unusual for a few candidates to be injured during hatchings, or by each other trying to get nearer to a hatching egg. When Lessa became Weyrwoman, she changed all that to the current system.

Fun chapter. It's good to see Tyler and Kage cool with each other, as they're both important to Elijah. Loved the night swim, I wish I could do that.

Chapter 24: Ardent Arrest
frosenblum commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 24: Ardent Arrest
That's a given, it's just a matter of how long you're going to continue the foreplay. I have no idea what you're going to throw at Vincent before he confronts Mr. Evil Supreme and saves the universe for the pesky gods. -
Chapter 24: Ardent Arrest
frosenblum commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 24: Ardent Arrest
Great chapter. Wrapped up a couple of story threads. Time to focus on Vincent. -
@kbois, this has got to be one of the all-time best similes ever: "wrapped around him like Saran wrap on the leftovers at a church picnic"

Delightful chapter. I can understand the prosecutor and judge accepting compensation and full restitution for the destruction of the yacht and stress it caused. However, I'm shocked that the wealthy perps received no punishment nor a criminal record at all, after they had assaulted and injured a police constable: “Is the Constable, ok?” I heard Dad ask over the phone… “Oh that’s not good, well I hope it’s a speedy recovery for him."

I don't know. The actual proposal was pretty sappy. '[CJ] stood, looked at the bartender, and gave him a small nod. When the initial notes of Snow Patrol’s Just Say Yes replaced the background music at a much louder volume, the hum of conversation died and CJ took two steps to stand next to Owen’s side of the booth.... CJ got down on one knee and opened his hand to reveal a simple gold band. “I want you to stay, Ozzie. I’ll do whatever it takes. I want you to stay by my side. Forever. Just say yes. Say you’ll marry me. Say you’ll become my husband. Say you’re ready to grow old together. I love you, Ozzie. Please, just say yes.”'

They're both your creations, your children. That would be incest.

Come on, Carlos, at my age, the answer to any "do you remember" question is a crap shoot. Sometimes it's crystal clear, sometimes it's more like "Diego and Frida who?"

Thanks, Carlos. "Over The Rainbow chapter 10." Nuh-uh, OTR only has 8 chapters. It's sometime before the Pride parade in chapter 6: "Ritchie glanced behind his brother and future brother-in-law"

CJ's long-term plan to run for president hasn't tamped down his wild side. I wonder if phone pics from his carousing in the bar with the cadets (in Cadet and CDMX) will surface during his campaign.

Wow! A definite example of "When it rains, it pours." Poor Jordan. Zac will just have to hold Jordan in his arms and comfort him.

A major exhibit of over 150 Diego Rivera paintings, frescoes and drawings opened this week at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. (I'm going to see it in two weeks.) The highlight a twenty-two foot by seventy-four foot mural weighing over sixty thousand pounds, which is on loan from the City College of San Francisco. The Marriage of the Artistic Expression of the North and of the South on This Continent, commonly known as Pan American Unity. https://riveramural.org/fullmural/ I appreciate how you've been filling in blank spaces in the mural you've been creating of the CJ-verse.

That Carlos character is a real hoot.

Great story, lots of fun. “By the way, consider yourself lucky Liebe let you pick her up. Since CJ got in yesterday, she barely leaves his side.” What a really sweet touch, Carlos. How you described the shooting of Elpidio in CMDX made it seem an accident, just like in many TV shows and movies. I was surprised to hear that CJ did it intentionally. I didn't see that coming at all. Good writing, Mr. H. I was also surprised that CJ had told Owen he was going to run for president as a prelude to proposing. "Honey, I really, really love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. However, there's something I really need to tell, but I'm nervous about it because you might leave me once you find out. (CJ takes a deep breath.) Owen, I'm planning to run for President of the United States as soon as I'm old enough. Sorry for the tears, I'm so worried about losing you. Will you marry me anyway?" 😇 BTW, what story and chapter was the proposal in? I want to see at what point in his life CJ made the decision.

Slice of life stuff sounds yummy.

Chapter 23: Shifter Sorrow
frosenblum commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 23: Shifter Sorrow
What a chock-full chapter! Every story line was shifting shape (sorry, I couldn't resist) from tension to relaxation. The story feels far from done, so I assume the relaxion will be temporary. I wish your current troubles are over soon. -
What @kbois, you don't like Loe? He's as hot (and famous) as Jay is, how come no mention.

I didn't know cousin Bubba had moved to Australia. I'm surprised they let him in, what with his criminal record here in the States. 😁

With F'drun dead, maybe L'cal's attitude will improve and stop harassing the boys. Ann's first dragonriders book introduced us to Benden Weyr through the eyes of teenaged Lessa. We are now getting a different view of the Weyr through Jevikal"s eyes. @Mawgrim is filling in parts of the canvas of weyr life that Ann didn't get to. I wonder if Jevikal will become as great a dragonrider as Lessa.

Grand, in effect, advised Will to interact with the Board in the same way he interacted with Claire.

Mason's father was abused by idiotic American customs agent. And now British customs agents pulled the same stunt with Mason. Could there be some pheromones that Sahndrol citizens give off that elicits such idiotic behavior?

Well, well, several of Quokka's favorite tropes appear in this chapter. Keeping a secret (by or from) the protagonist for no particular reason. The protagonist impulsively runs away. A fall. A head injury or serious illness. Unconsciousness for a few days. Amnesia. Going off on a ship (an ocean vessel or, this time a space ship). I wonder how it will all resolve this time.

Zak is buying the yacht for $4,500, but it'll be worth only $6 when he's done??????
