    What a wonderful collection! Distress speaks most to me today as someone I though a friend has completely ghosted me. I have offered an apology should I have offended him, but no response. Your words speak most clearly to me! Each poem speaks to me in many ways. I will be re-reading these many times!

    Ralph's parents don't appear open to anything but what they determine "best" for Ralph. That will not change easily. if ever. I love the twins! It is they who will ultimately give Ralph the courage to stand on his own.

    Great beginning! You've already set the boundaries for the characters and I'm looking forward to the subsequent events in the coming chapters! Damian seems to be nothing more than a charm on Jackie's bracelet - to be seen as a decoration rather than a responsibility. Of course, Ludo is going to come to a deeper understanding of himself...but that's what makes this story so enticing!

    Autumn's cooler temperatures are still a ways off for us here in Florida, but I do remember autumns when I lived up north - beautiful, for sure, but too fleeting and leading to grey days of short light. As you can tell (and I mentioned before), I am not one who loves the change of weather to cold, dreary days. Yes, the heat is miserable (thanks for A/C!). May the younger generation take the lead in reducing our carbon footprint. All that said, your writing is absolutely superb and beautiful @Parker Owens. I admire your wordsmithery.

    It was a different style of sci-fi but still had the elements of romance and HEA. Would that the world could be save with such powers - very dangerous if used incorrectly. Well done.

    @Robert Hugill, you've done a marvelous portrayal of a sector of people that I, personally, do not interact with, giving them their due! There was a real juxtaposition of the pretentious and the real. Dante brought out a much needed depth in Vaughn who, in my opinion, was too caught up in analysis and observation. I truly laughed at @Summerabbacat's "praise" of Suki! An apt name for she was truly a "suck up" in her vapid way. Now, on to the next work of @Robert Hugill.

    What a way to save the world! That they were not obviously standing out as non-natives allowed them to accomplish their goals. Fascinating concept!

    Nolan is correct: there is no need for labeling at this point (or for that matter, later, in my opinion!). If Ralph really does fall for Nolan, it's simply love of this person, period! Exploration and experience may help Ralph to relax and become comfortable with himself, though I think he's on the way to that now. I do love the pacing of the story!

    Like @weinerdog, it is still hot, very humid, and hopefully we are avoiding hurricanes for the next couple of months. However, that said, your beautiful description of fall reminds me of my days in New England. I relished the first days of fall, but I am not one made for cold weather and gray days. Thank you for reminding me of the change of seasons.

    This is no less weird than following Star Trek or Star Wars: one accepts the logic on which the story is built. I'm fascinated by the whole process of world building. So far so good....

    @Summerabbacat: When I became a single parent with full responsibility for my son, I had to give up going after the Ed.D. in keeping my primary life objective - Dad! I was a year away from completing my doctorate, but I gave it up nonetheless. Do I wish I could have completed it for my personal satisfaction of obtaining one of my goals - yes, but not at the expense of losing my son! Therese may love her daughters (I do not deny that fact), but her love does not include any personal sacrifice.

    Hmmm...do I hear that Therese may have to ask Ralph to have more time with the girls if she continues her move up the occupational ladder? Or will she try to keep them away if he does indeed get serious with Nolan? We'll see how far her hypocrisy goes!

    An extremely well-written story that deal with a very difficult subject: extreme child abuse. However, the focus is not on the abuse but rather how a very compassionate man, who just happens to learn he is the uncle of these children, takes on the responsibility of caring for and truly parenting these young people. This story is not for those might be triggered about reading about abuse, but is definitely an education while holding the reader's attention. This is a very definite story worth reading.

    Wonderful story, but too short - as most stories are for me, lol! You tied it together very well. Excellent writing.

    This has been an amazing journey - sorry to see it have to end, but all good stories do have an ending. This chapter did show that people can change and take responsibility for their actions. I hope Steve doesn't stutter at the trial and show spermie that the horrible treatment he was given had repercussions.

    Yes, Nick does have some stuff to deal with, but in actuality, she is "dead" to him. At his ae, he needs to deal with the anger he has, but not dwell on it. His young mind needs to focus on the positive. Jill and Steven have a lot of work to do, but therapy will help them process and move on. Isn't it amazing the we immediately go to our baser instincts in regards to the "karma" the Abel-no-nuts and the incubator received? We want justice done - but not painless justice. Allowing the guards to go free would not be in any sense justice nor "rehabilitation" that jails/prisons are supposed to exist for (but don't!). I do agree with @Anton_Cloche in regards to the mental state of Mr. Keys. Guess we'll see....

    What a powerful and riveting chapter! We have more information about the abuse, including another adult who will be charged! Additionally, we have further knowledge about Steven's psychological state. Appalling as it is, unfortunately, these types of abuse do take place! Human remains? Now we'll have to see whose they might be... Powerful writing!!!

    A final word from me about suppressed memories and abuse: it is not unusual that abused persons "black out" during abuse and may not easily remember exactly what happened - only that there was abuse and it stopped. Chapter 8 does say that the right questions were not asked - but I'm not sure at that point, Jill would have readily blurted out everything.

    While still concerned about the ethical standards of Skylar, I'm glad they are moving so slowly. Andrew is a true gentleman and showing that his father has instilled strong values. As a counselor myself (retired now), I would say that hypnosis can be very helpful with a truly experienced hypnotist. Jill could remember the abuse with the suggestion that she is watching it without any emotion. Of course, that part will have to be dealt with later on, but all depends on the skill of the hypnotist and psychologist/therapist.

    @Summerabbacat has so eloquently summarized all that I thought about this chapter! I could so picture and hear "Mother" questioning Vaughn and Dan! Supportive, yes, but also questioning in order to feel more comfortable.

    The guy who asked about a good restaurant still sticks in my mind: is it possible he is actually stalking the guys? Could he also be an evil skinwalker? Hmmm.... As for Louella, I am the type that would give her a vase of flowers with a card that reads "here's to positive relationship as neighbors." She might soften, but more likely not. Still, I would try.
